Pretty good job. First time getting my eyebrows threaded. I was walking home from the museum on a Sunday afternoon and thought, why not? $12 and it took 10 minutes. I had Rina, I thought she did pretty well and was understanding that it was my first time. Someone else said the lady who did it was "very short" with them. Not sure if this is the same person, but you know, when English is someone's second language, they might not talk so much. She was as clear and cordial as necessary. read more

I come here regularly for my eyebrows. Thread and Shape has a rewards punch card you can use every time you visit which will eventually gift you a free threading session. The threading technicians are pretty good. I am always happy when I leave here and do not feel like my eyebrows have been thinned. I also always ask for aloe to be put on my eyebrows after a threading session. The bonus eyebrow massage at the end of each session makes me happy! read more

This is the third time I've come and they are supposed to be open but are closed, but the open light is on. There's no sign explaining why they're closed and they don't answer the phones. Even though they do eyebrows pretty well the fact that they aren't dependable is a complete let down. read more

Wow, just left this threading studio and was extremely disappointed with the service. I went around 1pm on Thursday--it wasn't busy at all and there was one lady. She was very short with me from the beginning and seemed annoyed I had walked in. She did my brows very quickly and didn't listen to me when I said it was hurting. Definitely won't be returning, the only reason I gave two stars is because I'm somewhat satisfied with how my eyebrows turned out. read more

Great service! An Indian lady helped me and she was the sweetest. My brows looked amazing after--she made them look so natural but defined. This place recently began offering a discount for students and also a loyalty card program where 6 or something visits gets you ca free threading. read more

When I say I love this place I mean I LOVE IT. I will wait 1 month between appointments (way too long) to make sure I make it here. I have had multiple people thread my eyebrows and everyone has done a fantastic job of retaining the shape and being gentle not to cut my skin with the thread. I'm re-posting this review for the correct location (originally posted under the Mass Ave location) -- $12 for eyebrow threading is a downright bargain in Boston. . I believe they take appointments, but I was told just to walk in when I called in the middle of the day. I went on a Thursday night at around 5pm and it was empty. There was one threader there and she took me immediately. It had been a good, long while since I'd done anything to my eyebrows (eek), and I appreciated the time she took to thread and trim my eyebrows back to perfection. Can't say that I would frequent this place if there were other options around Harvard Square -- but there really aren't that many. So when you're on the go, Thread and Shape it is! However, after having had tried this place for more than 10 times, I recall only once when I was very satisfied with my brows. Make sure to specify how you'd like your brows. I've been coming here for a couple of years and it's the closest place to my house, so I gave them multiple opportunities. I've also always tipped very well. No more. The older woman--I think her name is Renu--is polite and professional; quiet but friendly. She's always done a good job with my eyebrows. However, she's not the only employee. The others are rude and unprofessional, and after three bad experiences, I'm done. One rolled her eyes at me when I pointed out some unevenness in my brows after she was done. Another time, a few weeks ago, I arrived at 7:15, only to find that the woman (one of the younger ones) was already closing up shop and she wouldn't take me. The shop closes at 7:30. She said she had to leave early that night. As I was on my way out one other person tried to go in, so that's two unserved customers right there. More recently, I arrived at 7:20. I just wanted my eyebrows done, which takes under five minutes. I knew it was close, but there's never been more than one customer before me, and most places don't mind staying a couple of minutes past closing in the name of good customer service (I've done my time in retail and the service industry and I stayed a lot more than five minutes late on multiple occasions to help people), so I figured it would be OK. When I walked in, the young woman told me she couldn't serve me because the customer in the chair was going to take until almost closing. I told her I just wanted my eyebrows done, which (again) takes less than five minutes, so she would have had to stay open until 7:35, tops. She refused. I wasn't asking her to stay for half an hour, or even fifteen minutes--and I wouldn't have. I wouldn't have asked her to stay for even ten extra minutes. However, an extra couple of minutes to provide good customer service doesn't feel like too much to ask for a business in Harvard Square. Apparently it is. read more

Great and quick service! I came in as a walk-in and only waited about 10 minutes. I got my eyebrows threaded and loved how they came out - cleaned up, but not overly threaded. All in all I was in and out within about 25 minutes. Great prices as well! I don't remember my threader's name but she was very kind. read more

I came here on a Thursday and had a lady do my eyebrows who only works on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and I must say..she did a phenomenal job. It has taken me six years to find someone in Boston that can do a good job with eyebrows. They usually mess up the shape, and one eyebrow ends up looking different than the other. Well done! I will be coming back to see her. I am also from Toronto, and it took me about the same amount of time to find someone who was good at threading eyebrows back home. read more

The lady was very rude. I understand she may have a long and bad day. But it doesn't mean you can speak very loudly and impatiently (almost yell at ) to your customers. I was asking her if there is a student discount here. She said they have another location around here that has the discount. I asked where it is cuz I never know they have two stores here. She said right outside the station. I was not sure where she meant. So I asked for details. She spoke very rudely to me saying " don't you understand?! Do you know where the station is? It's right outside the station. Once you get off you see it!" I'm not complaining about their service but hope they have some one who is also polite to customers. read more

I've been coming to this location to see Renu and she's totally worth the trip to Harvard Sq. She takes her time and does a great job. I'm always amazed by how she creates a natural looking arch when I don't really have one. I believe she's there on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (?) but always call ahead to confirm. Okay, if you look at the reviews for this place, you'll see they're all over the place, which is essentially my experience: Sometimes, they do a GREAT--truly great--job, and you leave with perfect brows. Sometimes, they do a HORRENDOUS job, and you want to cry after you leave. It doesn't even necessarily have to do with whom you see, as I've had mixed experiences with the same person (sometimes great, sometimes bad). I've been coming here for more than two years, since I moved to Cambridge from New York (where I went, for years, to the excellent Shobha Threading, in Soho), and my first time I was overjoyed: My brows turned out perfectly! For $1`2! No wait, no appointment. Amazing! The next visit or few were great, too. Then, perhaps a year ago, a threader basically took off half my eyebrows. It was truly awful and extremely unflattering; and took ages to grow back (looking awful as the hair grew in). I thought the problem was this one person, so I simply avoided her, and found a person (whoever is there on Fridays), who seemed great. But then, last week, I went and saw her, and she did a terrible job, completely rushing through the process, and leaving me with two eyebrows of completely different shapes. Like, noticeably different shapes. (My eyebrows, I should add, ARE two different shapes; but when I get them threaded, the threader usually corrects this and makes them looks the same, or similar. This person made them look more different.) I'm completely confused about what to do: Do I go back, to a different person, and have her fix them? (As I look demented right now.) Do I find another place? But, in short, I can't fully recommend Thread & Shape. read more

I've sadly gone through years of horrible plucking and random stylists threading my eyebrows. I finally decided exactly what type of eyebrows I wanted -- full and arched -- and went here to continue the growing out process while keeping it maintained. This is my regular place to get my eyebrows done. Sunita does my eyebrows here. She is so nice on it, always ask me how do I like my brows, friendly and takes her time to give proper shape. Everybody who works there there are good, but I always wants her to get done, I don't need to explain how do I like my brows, she knows and she is quick and gentle on it. Terrible experience. The lady merely took 2 hair out of my eyebrows and even in that process, she pinched my skin causing bleeding . My eyebrows have never been so out of shape. Regret wasting those $12. Wouldn't recommend at all! read more

tl:dr completely uneven eyebrows, had to be touched up by a second person but were beyond full repair... I used to come here a lot, like once or twice a month for a year, but eyebrows is one of those things you only get to F*** up once and the new girl royally messed up. She takes a first pass, the order feels different than the other woman I usually go to and she's fussing more, but I'm thinking ok, how bad can it be, maybe a little too thin but it'll grow out right? But I'm getting nervous and she keeps redoing spots she's been over, so I ask her to pause so I can see. She shows me a mirror and the right brow is much smaller than the left, but she says she's still working so I'm like ok, maybe she'll work it out. Then she asks if I want aloe (the you're done cue) and I say I want to see it...the right eyebrow is a good half an inch further out from my nose than the left and she looks at me like "no, it's fine." At this point I'm like are you blind, but I'm trying to be civil and the other woman is trying to explain to her how to fix it, so I ask the other woman to do it instead because the first girl is clearly having a very bad first day on the job. The older woman, Shiela, tries to fix it up a bit, gets the nose spacing ok, but now I realize the right brow is also a quarter inch lower than the left. And again, this has never happened before, I don't just have a weird brow ridge or something, the woman just messed up so far beyond the pale it's basically unfixable short of waiting for it all to grow out. How do you let someone like this on the shop floor?! read more

This is the only place I've been to get my eyebrows threaded since moving to Cambridge, but I have no desire to find another threading salon. This place is cheap and does a nice job. They don't over thread like some other places I've been to. There's always someone different each time I go, so my brows do tend to be a little different each time, but that doesn't bother me. No appointment necessary. The most I've ever waited was 5-10 minutes. read more

Five stars. The prices are very reasonable (eyebrows $12), especially for the quality of services. I have been multiple times - always walking in and not making appointments ahead of time. The wait is never long. I think the most I had to wait was about 10 minutes. The technicians do a great job of cleaning up your eyebrows to the natural shape without overdoing it. My eyebrow hairs can get very long, so I appreciate they take the time to do some trimming with scissors after threading. They seem to care about creating a perfect shape as I do. This place is awful. First $12 for eyebrows is not by any means cheap. Second this was the fastest and roughest I've ever had my eyebrows handled. The lady was literally sawing my eyelids off. I came upon Thread & Shape on Bow St. entirely by accident and from now I'll be coming here regularly. Renu did my eyebrows perfectly - I have a scar on one that makes the shape a bit tricky and she did an excellent job. Not only that, she managed to get even the smallest hairs out. Most important, I had practically no stinging sensation that you're often left with. Other pros: extremely clean, and I had no wait time at all. Strongly recommended! read more

I really like this place. I've been going to thread and shape for the last couple months to get my brows threaded and they have never looked better. I always see Renu and she is a magician. I have very sparse brows but somehow she is able to remove just the right amount of hair and give my brows just the right shape so they look fuller; it's like an optical illusion. T&S has great customer service! They always answer the phone, are very polite and attentive, Renu really takes her time and always makes sure I'm happy with the result. The price is good at $12 for brows, not the lowest I've seen but really good for thread/wax in the Cambridge/Boston area and totally worth it for some beautiful brows. My most favorite thing of all is that this place offers the least painful threading I've ever had. Threading notoriously "hurts less" than waxing but I've had some painful threads before but it's not bad at all at T&S. I'm not sure if it's a different technique, if she's doing less hairs at a time, or if the thread is smaller but whatever the case may be I'm sold!!! read more
