My 2001 Avalon had left front fender replaced and hood repainted in July. I waited a month to see if any cracks or peels of the paint before writing this review. I can say that this body shop is the best as far as workmanship and attention to details. I have used FV Bodyworks, Grove Autobody, Fix Auto... this place is above the rest. Because they were 3 days late they threw in the engine & interior details. They even pay for the difference on rental reimbursement. This review is long overdue but I really need to write it to show how awesome Tho's Auto Collision is. I'd give them 10 stars if Yelp allows because they totally rocks! First off, let's start with the customer service. I was totally freaked out because I got into two car accidents within a month and I honestly don't know how the process would be. Loan helped me with the quote at the beginning, explained to me how to file different claims for both accidents and kept me update throughout the entire process of getting my car fixed. She's really patient and would definitely go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy!! Now to the car, they did an outstanding job on the car and it was really nice when I picked it up last Friday! However, not settle for less, Loan reached out to me and offered to take my car back in today for some details so it can look even better!! Sooooo, my wife decided to test out her brakes and reflexes on the back of a trucks bumper...in return I got to test out Tho's Auto Collision. :) For starters, everyone thankfully was safe, and the guy she hit actually helped my wife fix her fan so she could make it home. When it she got home, it was time to figure out where to go. I looked at Irvine, and you have got to be kidding me on the prices. But I guess if you have money to burn for no reason other than its combustible, go right on ahead. Me, I prefer not be be silly with the wallet, especially in this day and age. So I figured that the further I got away from South OC, the cheaper it would be. That's when I found Tho's Auto Collision on here. At first, it seemed a bit surreal....the reviews just sounded too good. What, they actually have Customer Service skills? They actually care about you and treat you as a guest in their home, vice just a customer. When you get there, take your time and don't get confused....there are two doors side by side...and only one gets you to Tho's. So take the one on the right!!! I was there at opening, so the only person in the shop was Linh, and he was in the garage working on a car. Once he saw me though, he came on over and inspected the results of my wife's test, and did a very thorough job, taking his time and making sure that he covered everything. we went inside and hashed out the details since we were paying cash and keeping it off the insurance. He let me know that it was going to be about a week to complete and let me relax in their lounge area until my wife showed up. Sure enough, a week later I get a call and meet Linh and his sister and get to see his craftsmanship. Bodywork and auto painting is a skill, and you can see when someone doesn't have the required skills to be doing what they are doing. Linh does beautiful work, I mean really beautiful. The paint was perfect, front quarter panel was pushed back to its original location, bumper replaced, fog lamp and electrical wiring replaced and the hood was painted like it just rolled off the assembly line. Not only that, but Linh had the car cleaned. Not cleaned like when you take it to Honda for an oil change and they give you the complimentary wash to knock the bird poop off of your hood. I mean detailed! Inside and out!!! Absolutely perfect. That is a family that knows about customer service, cares about their work and their reputation. They have earned their place in my book to be recommended to everyone that I meet for auto work in the future. My many thanks go out to their mom and dad, who obviously instilled pride, commitment, honor and true old fashioned work ethics. I would give this place more than 5 stars if I can, definitely a great business where they care about you and your car as if you are part of the family. Both of my cars were unfortunately involve in accident and I have brought both cars here for repair. I admit, my first time here, I was extremely skeptical since the shop from the outside look very simple and I have heard my fair share of shady shop that treat your car badly around Westminster area, however, I decided to go through with it anyway. From the get go, the manager of the shop Loan is extremely friendly + her attention to details and knowledge really chase away all the skeptical feelings I had, she provided me with all the options that the shop has to offer and really try her best to save me money whenever possible, and there was no up sale anywhere. The wonderful service didn't just stop there, Loan stay in touch and constantly provided me update along the repair process. At first I was a little hesitant because I thought the price was too good to be true, but due to all the great reviews on Yelp I decided to give it a shot and man it turned out GREAT. The paint matched the rest of the car. You couldn't even tell that it was painted. This place did as good of a job, if not better than the body shop I usually go to at half the price. The best customer service you could ever get at an auto shop! I called Loan informing her about my front bumper problem and asked her how much it would cost to repair it. The right side of my bumper was loose and about to fall off and I was really afraid that I would have to spend a lot of money to replace it. Loan told me she would be happy to take a look at it and as soon I brought my car in, she told me that the side of my bumper only needed to be screwed back up. I waited about 15 minutes or so for the mechanic to fix my bumper... super fast service! Loan told me over the phone that I should expect to pay around $30 or so to have my bumper screwed back on, but once they were done with my car, I ended up not having to pay anything at all! The service was basically "on the house" because my bumper problem was considered minor. Loan is really easy to talk to and is professional about everything. I'm glad that my bumper situation was minor and that I didn't have to spend money to replace it. I love the service at Tho's Auto Collision and will definitely refer my friends and family here. If you are looking for a body shop with quick responses and VERY fair prices this is the place for you. I asked for a quote over the phone for a replacement windshield and headlight, got a quote within the hour, and was told about how long it would take. Granted, I had not brought my car in yet so it wasn't an exact quote, but I liked that Loan gave me an approximate price quickly. I brought my car over, the prices were still the same, and all i had to do was wait for the parts to come in so they could fix the car the next day. I was told it would take about 1-2 hours and they finished in a little under an hour. Excellent customer service and excellent work. I brought my lip here to get resprayed because another shop painted it the wrong color. Told me that it was not his fault because he used the color code and still charged me for it. I brought it here and have been emailing Loan back and forth, for a quote and when to bring it in. I brought her my old lip for reference and my new one. Of course she said the lips doesn't even look close to matching. Told me it would take a week and I should have it in 7 days. Okay, here I am writing this review at 12:30 am when I should be asleep. That's how wonderful this place is!!! Long story short, I travel to Los Angeles for work and instead of renting a car, I use and then crash my mother's black 2009 Mercedes CLS 550. Okay, I won't go into detail as to who gave me quotes and how much their quotes were. The first place I go to is the Mercedes Dealer off PCH. $1700, and that's if there is no damage underneath the bumper, and they won't know until after it's taken off. Then I check a reputable auto repair place near my home in Torrance, a place i usually go to for maintenance for my 2009 Prius. (They have a pretty high Yelp Review rating as well). So the guy knows me (I'm not going to mention his name because him and his team really do do a good job when it comes to auto mechanic stuff for your made-in-Japan car. I go in and he's surprised I don't pull up in my silver Prius. I tell him it's my mother's and he quotes me $1100. Ok, that's better I thought. But geez, $1000 for cosmetic repair, ugh! So what do I do? Of course, Yelp to the rescue - always! Thos' Auto!!! And by the way, I usually read EVERY Yelp review for all businesses I review. It's always worth it, and I think I'm clever enough to know when a Yelp review is fake, when it's written by a long-time friend of the owner of a business, or when a reviewer is just an angry person projecting all his or her life problems out in a Yelp review. So I actually text Loan (the sweet gal that helped me) a photo of the damage to my mom's car. And she calls me right back and let's me know it really doesn't look that bad and that I should bring it in. Loan's sweet and calm tone of voice makes me realize in that moment that what I really need is a big hug from someone like her instead of a quote. I head over straight to Westminister and actually am greeted by Loan (and a big warm hug!) Ok, so down to business because if she quotes me a number too high, I'm going to need more hugs before heading back to my mechanic in Torrance. Loan totally went out of her way while always being in communication with me. If I told you EVERYTHING she did for me, I am afraid some of you might take advantage of her. I will tell you some things though. Since I was no longer living in the LA area, she let me keep my car there until she found the piece to replace my mom's fender for the right price. Yes, my mother did start to think I had sold her car to someone. Loan was not a friend when I took my mom's car in, but she has become one. She is that sweet and really has a heart of gold. You know that she is truly looking out for you. Grand total: way way WAY less than what I was quoted from the other two places. They even buffed out some of the other little scratches around the car. My mom's Mercedes looked beautiful! And on top of that I got my mom a car wash, a service I believe they add on for free, (but don't quote me on that). Seriously?!!! Seriously. Do all your research like I did. Take your car all around town and get quotes. Then go to Tho's and be relieved. They are a family run business, serving you like you are their family and looking out for their community as well as anyone that goes to them seeking some solace and a rad auto repair job!
