The cheaper gas in Carrollwood. This Thorntons is not easy to access if you are on opposite site of Linebaugh. Since there is no left turn, you have to go straight and make a u-turn. This may be the reason they are 4 cents cheaper than most gas station around there. They have 20 pumps for gas. So there not much of waiting. There is plenty of room to maneuver you car around the pump station. The convenience store has hotdog, cold or hot drinks, quick snack and more. The outside of the building has security camera in case anything happens around the pump stations. read more

It's a gas station with fair prices, a clean interior, and today I noticed their gas price was one penny cheaper than that other new kid on the block, Wawas. If I stop for gas, I usually run inside to get a fake latte. I love that they have 'skinny' and low fat flavors. Looks like they have a good selection of ready to go items, also. Make sure you try one of their slurpees-rumor has it that they come in interesting flavors and are delicious. Final tip: get a Thorntons card for free, and every 6 (or is it 9?) drink purchases, you get one free. Score! read more

Now I can say, "Whew, I've got gas." No, no, no not THAT gas! Gas for the CAR! If you don't know Thornton's, it's a gas station and convenience store. Pull in. Pay for gas. Put fuel in gas tank. Put tank cap on and close lid. Drive away. NOT TODAY. LoL. Two patrons ahead of me was purchasing a six pack (of beer, not abs) which was not ringing up. Yes, there was only 1 cashier. Finally, a 2nd cashier came out from the back of the store. Long story short--they took another 6 pack which scanned beautifully. Yea. Now we can get on with our lives. read more

I've been coming here on my way to work since it opened. A nice gas station with good prices is always appreciated. The question is, did they really need this place with Racetrac right across the street? I don't know, maybe, so that you don't have to do a U-turn.... however, I would have personally placed it a little further east since there are very few good, clean gas stations on Gunn/Busch from Linebaugh all the way to Busch Gardens. At the very least, this place is causing some competition and Racetrac is now offering free stuff as well. Gas is cheap for sure. They are quite proud of their mixable fountain drinks. Thorntons has finally come to Tampa, and we now have 4 locations in the Tampa Bay area. Thorntons is a Fortune 500 independent gasoline / convenience-chain retailer, headquartered in Louisville, KY. This new Thorntons location opened at the intersection of Linebaugh Avenue and Gunn Highway this past week, and they are helping to spearhead a local gas price war by charging $3.44 per gallon of unleaded. The station is open 24 hours a day, and offers 24 fueling stations under a well-lit canopy with plenty of room for vehicles of all sizes. There are vacuum stations and an air pump for refilling tires (both bicycle and vehicles). Inside the main convenience store is Thorntons Fabulous Fountain where you grab a cup, load it with their Nugget Ice, and then mix n' match your choice of sodas, juices, flavored waters, teas, etc. They have a FREEquency program where every 7th fountain drink is free, so if you plan on becoming a regular be sure to ask them about the program. Thorntons also has coolers with milk, beer, juices, sports drinks, plus a selection of wine and freshly-brewed coffees. Back on the main floor you'll also find an island with freshly-made sandwiches and salads, and baked goods. My personal favorite is their giant roller grill where you'll see a wide variety of hot dogs, sausages, and other yummies ready for you to select and take home. There's a warming bin for the buns, and you can dress your hot dog with freshly-cut veggies and a nice selection of condiments. I came here almost entirely to use the bathroom and this is what I found... definitely not just a day or two worth of neglect. They usually don't have roller food outside of peak hours. Thankfully, the employees are always pretty friendly and the main part of the store is clean. The bathroom makes me concerned about other areas and the general upkeep though. read more

Visit this location daily and it's always spotless, customer service is awesome and of course love the discount on gas as a reward member. Only negative which isn't their fault is traffic flow getting out of the location. read more

I come to this location every once in while, usually by foot. Probably the best thing about this place is their ATM. It is a PNC bank machine and there are NO fees, regardless of who you bank with. This is an excellent place to get cash. Their convenience store is fairly well stocked, you can find your usual convenience items like hot coffee, beer, sandwiches, chips, candy etc. They also have small items like chap stick, lotion, aspirins, gift cards and such, but you are going to pay higher prices. For example, a chapstick will cost you $2.50. My complaint lately has been that when I grab coffee here, I usually like adding half & half or cream. The last couple of times I noticed that their dispensers were empty. Definitely due to lack of attention in their part. If you come here in the mornings, expect to have a bit of a wait checking out. They have a usual rush of folks that come in. I do recommend them, but if you want to save money, go to a supermarket. read more

Thortons management, you guys really need to do better about your store. Roaches, ants, spells residue in the cracks and corners, crumbs. Go look at the cleanliness of WAWA. Management needs to show LEADERSHIP so that the employees will do better. read more

LOL, it's a regular gas station with a store and some extras. Everything is new, so pumps and everything are still all working well. I thought they would help bring gas prices down, but their prices are no cheaper than their competitors. I kike the fact they are open 24 hours a day, you never know when you just might need to get gas or a snack! Food selection was pretty good for being a glorified gas station. Didn't study it, but what I noticed and saw got my interest. Welcome to Tampa, some people have been waiting for you. Me, I never heard of them, till I started seeing them pop up around town.I do love the new working gas pumps and the coffee wasn't bad. These new gas stations, with sores and food are kind of like smart phones. It's easy to forget a smart phone is still a phone and the mega gas stations, still sell gas. What's a girl to do? We all need to keep fuel in our vehicles and we want it as cheap as we can find it. read more

Big on hot dogs/sausages, fresh toppings/condiments, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, fountain drinks and coffee varietals. More than RaceTrac, less than WaWa on food variety, plus the usual convenience store beer, wine, soda, freezer and basic grocery items. Prices are low and grab & go time is minimal. Gas prices today were $3.43 for regular unleaded, lowest in town probably, with lots of fast clean pumps. read more

Love thorntons! Very friendly cashiers and a very safe gas station with good light inside and outside and music to keep you feeling safe even when it's 2 or 3 am and you are alone getting gas. Hot dogs are pretty good to with a little customizable topping bar and they also have a great selection of cups with both cubed and chopped ice. Great rewards point system ! read more

I was in at 7pm, Sat 8/3/13 after a full day of work and saw the "We ID Everyone" sign.So after coming to an empty cashier station and saying you-hoo to get someone over I pulled out my ID,showed it to the young afrian american lady to which she said let me see that(I am 50 yrs young).I paid her the amount due and she immediately went away not putting my purchase in a bag(a can of beer).Before she went away she said "Awful snatchy auint ya".I asked the gentleman that had come to the other register for a bag to which I got a large plastic bag with the bottom ripped out placed overt the top of my can of beer. I don't bought ya'll but Thornton"s will not see me again , I am going to tell everyone I know about this, and I hope Corporate see's this. read more

I was in the Brandon area last Friday and needed gas. I used my bank card at the pump and Sunday when i checked my bank account I had the $20.13 debited from my account for the gas I purchased, then looked and seen i had a visa hold of an extra $70.62 from Thorntons also!!!!!! I went to my bank this morning thinking someone had used one of those illegal reader cards in the pump I had used and used my number to get their gas!!!! Turns out Thorntons do an enormous "HOLD" once you put your card in the slot!!!! I WILL NEVER USE A THORNTONS AGAIN AND WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD ON FACE BOOK WARNING OTHERS!!!!!! read more
