So, despite just recently switching to District Vet, I've had several cat experiences with them. In short, they are awesome. So convenient being at Eastern Market! I can walk home with kitty sitting in his magnificent, aging Sherpa. And when I left him for his dental, I had breakfast on the way home. They have excellent hours, and their front desk people are super nice. In fact, everyone in the practice is super nice! And speaking of nice, the majority of vets are women! Very cool, in my opinion. And the vets and their techs are also amazing. As noted, we took Grant Mitchell in for his (very late) annual dental. They actually called to ask if I could give Grant his post-surgery meds. I said, "Not unless the meds are liquid," (and that's debatable). Which of course they were pills, a no way. So they dosed him with something else and he's good as new. I really like District Vet.

I did a lot of Googling and Yelping as it was hard to find a pet sitter that dealt with cats. I reached out to Furry Walks and they promptly responded back to me and then Andre, with FW&W, called. We talked for a few minutes and arranged an in-house visit where he could meet my cat and I could tell him about what he needs from a care perspective. When it actually came time for the sit Andre sent me an email every day summarizing how the cat was doing/acting and also included pictures. I have a very high-strung emotionally needy cat and he was more than willing to humor me with brushing and rubbing the cat. Overall I would highly recommend! The only complaint I have is that they did not mention there is a small surcharge for a weekend pet sit. It was only $5, though,and wouldn't have made me change my mind had I known in advance. And they were still more than worth it.

My dog had such a great time here!…read more A little backstory. My Olde English bulldog had ACL and patella surgery almost four weeks ago. He isn't putting much weight on the leg yet and it still can be tender. PPC scheduled a google conference call with me ($5 to avoid no shows) to get details on what he needs during a groom. I spoke with Melissa and let her know my concerns about putting weight on and to stress that the groomer needs to be gentle with his leg. She assured me everything will go at my dog' pace and even let me check him in at the front door as stairs can be difficult still. I went ahead and booked the appointment, and am so happy I did. Drop off was very easy and convenient for me to drop off early morning and go back home to take meetings. I picked up my dog a few hours later. He was clean, smelled great and was so happy! I received his report card later that evening and was pleasantly surprised to see how detailed it was and that 4 wonderful people were involved with the grooming. Especially thankful for the time it took to sand his toes on his bum leg!! My dog had such a great time there he was worn out the rest of the day. I know he can't wait to go back! After investigating all my dog walking options, I decided to stay with the Brookland outlet of Saving Grace because I had such a good experience with my former location, they came highly recommended by some friends in the new 'hood, and the owners are sons of a former teacher of my children. Basically, I'm loyal and it's all about relationships. I have not been disappointed! Patrick and Adam have been great with my 2 dogs who have different needs. One is an active rescue mutt who loves a good long walk, and the other is an English Bulldog 1+ yr old puppy with lots of energy but not a lot of walking stamina who just recently had ACL and meniscus surgery! Saving Grace Brookland has been responsive, accommodating, flexible, and helpful in adjusting to our various needs over the past 9 months since we started with them. They are responsive to emails, and leave a daily update about their visit in a notebook at my house. Overall great, can't say enough nice things! Glad they are in the neighborhood for my doggos!
