Since the practice was sold, one change in particular has made things unnecessarily difficult: prescriptions for outside pharmacies can no longer be sent electronically. I confirmed with my pharmacist at Chewy that they are willing and able to receive electronic prescriptions, but District Vet will not send them. Instead, clients now have to request a written prescription and then coordinate getting it to the pharmacy themselves. In a time when digital prescribing is standard--and when people are already dealing with rising costs and busy schedules--this extra step feels avoidable and inconvenient. It's hard not to feel like this policy discourages clients from using more affordable or preferred outside pharmacy options. I understand that change is part of any business, but it's disappointing when those changes make things harder for long-time clients. I hope the practice reconsiders policies like this and continues to prioritize the convenience and trust of the pet owners who have supported them for years. Spread the word and provide District Vet your feedback on this change.

I did a lot of Googling and Yelping as it was hard to find a pet sitter that dealt with cats. I reached out to Furry Walks and they promptly responded back to me and then Andre, with FW&W, called. We talked for a few minutes and arranged an in-house visit where he could meet my cat and I could tell him about what he needs from a care perspective. When it actually came time for the sit Andre sent me an email every day summarizing how the cat was doing/acting and also included pictures. I have a very high-strung emotionally needy cat and he was more than willing to humor me with brushing and rubbing the cat. Overall I would highly recommend! The only complaint I have is that they did not mention there is a small surcharge for a weekend pet sit. It was only $5, though,and wouldn't have made me change my mind had I known in advance. And they were still more than worth it.

My dog had such a great time here!…read more A little backstory. My Olde English bulldog had ACL and patella surgery almost four weeks ago. He isn't putting much weight on the leg yet and it still can be tender. PPC scheduled a google conference call with me ($5 to avoid no shows) to get details on what he needs during a groom. I spoke with Melissa and let her know my concerns about putting weight on and to stress that the groomer needs to be gentle with his leg. She assured me everything will go at my dog' pace and even let me check him in at the front door as stairs can be difficult still. I went ahead and booked the appointment, and am so happy I did. Drop off was very easy and convenient for me to drop off early morning and go back home to take meetings. I picked up my dog a few hours later. He was clean, smelled great and was so happy! I received his report card later that evening and was pleasantly surprised to see how detailed it was and that 4 wonderful people were involved with the grooming. Especially thankful for the time it took to sand his toes on his bum leg!! My dog had such a great time there he was worn out the rest of the day. I know he can't wait to go back! We've been having a tough time cutting our shy puppy's nails. She's very timid and doesn't love her…read morenails trimmed, but we sent her to Patrick's and she was clearly treated well and with care and was so happy. She smelled great, had her nails trimmed and had the cutest bandana on! Great to have a spot in Brookland. After investigating all my dog walking options, I decided to stay with the Brookland outlet of Saving Grace because I had such a good experience with my former location, they came highly recommended by some friends in the new 'hood, and the owners are sons of a former teacher of my children. Basically, I'm loyal and it's all about relationships. I have not been disappointed! Patrick and Adam have been great with my 2 dogs who have different needs. One is an active rescue mutt who loves a good long walk, and the other is an English Bulldog 1+ yr old puppy with lots of energy but not a lot of walking stamina who just recently had ACL and meniscus surgery! Saving Grace Brookland has been responsive, accommodating, flexible, and helpful in adjusting to our various needs over the past 9 months since we started with them. They are responsive to emails, and leave a daily update about their visit in a notebook at my house. Overall great, can't say enough nice things! Glad they are in the neighborhood for my doggos!
