Eury really put the work in to figure out what was wrong, and that's why I'm giving this review. He probably spent an hour diagnosing the problem, which is a good use of the $79 fee. Turns out it was indeed pepcos thermostat that was malfunctioning and not my furnace. Because i was impressed with his service, I bought a new thermostat and installation on site from Eury. I simply don't trust Pepco to take responsibility for their own product and get out here to fix it, so I paid the $250 charge to A&S to actually fix my problem.

We received an invoice by email on a Saturday for $1,000 - with no line item for what was parts or labor. The price seemed high for just the labor that David didn't expect to take long, and when we asked why the price was so high, Anthony and Son reduced the price but again merely sent an email without explanation, provided no line item and refused to look up the part to tell me the MSRP. When I called the person person manning the phones claimed they sent an invoice on Friday (they never did) and implied I should have signed immediately for them to order the part, and nothing could be done until Monday After further inquiries, (each time I had to call - there was never any follow up), the owner, Rafael, finally called me back on Monday, the day they were supposed to make the repairs, and after 3 days without heat. Rafael insisted I was lying about the timing of the invoice, and defended his assistant, who blamed the whole ordeal on me over the weekend. Rafael told me he was the owner of the business and didn't have to deal with people asking questions about the actual costs of parts versus labor. He then claimed a senior tech would have to come out to confirm the issue was actually the problem, and we'd have to wait even longer for our boiler to be repaired. At no point over the weekend was I told the initial diagnosis may be incorrect. I questioned why Anthony and Son kept shifting costs and steps to repair the issue, and Rafael then refused to come out to fix our boiler at all until I apologized for questioning his lack of transparency in pricing He cursed at me, calling me a "pain in the ass" and further insulted me, before hanging up the phone. It seems Anthony and Son ropes you in to a job, then banks on you paying them whatever they want just to get your heat working again, knowing you won't want to spend more time and money hiring another business to come out for a diagnostic and repair.

I had not looked into chimney repair before, but a bird entering your house like it's Santa will make you consider installing a chimney cap. Inmar was on site to provide the estimate, explained the services that I probably needed, and told me I would receive an estimate via email. I received the estimate later the same day. Inmar's team showed up, explained the scope of work, gently moved our plants out of the way, and got to work. I also needed my gutter cleaned and asked if they could take care of it, since they had ladders and experience. He said he'd try to fit it in. They did. I napped in front of the fireplace while they worked. I could only hear light tapping from the brick removal process. They sent photos while the work was in progress. Great photos that I will share with you below. Inmar and his team exceeded my expectations. He was right again. His team showed up, explained the scope of work, gently moved our plants out of the way, and got to work. We also had several bricks that needed to be replaced. That required the team to remove the broken brick, spread mortar, and install new bricks. They match the house well. I napped in front of the fireplace while they worked. But, know that overall, I highly recommend them While I didn't catch the name of this morning's tech, I have to admit he's partially the impetus for this review. If you get him--he's tall, about 6 feet with glasses and long salt & pepper hair that's in a low bun--just know he's incredibly straightforward and blunt. Our AC hadnt been working for about 36 hours and while I IMMENSELY appreciate his coming out today, when I asked him a question about something our thermostat's been doing he interrupted and said "oh you have the heat on" like that'd been the issue. It wasn't. I had to cut him off and explain the thermostat, installed by Pepco years before we moved in, goes to that first before you click the button one more time to get it to AC. How did he not assume that? He went outside to check our actual AC unit and then came back around, saying "you've got a bad compressor". When I asked if that was an easy fix, because I didn't know, he scoffed and said "yeah, i've got one in the truck. Same blunt, kind of dismissive "why don't you know that" tone. Sorry for asking, yeesh.

I told him to stop shouting at me, saying untrue things.....he does not listen. Mr Tolbert, lost his temper and HUNG UP on me! WOW I'm so happy this miserable customer service experience happened before I could buy from Rod Miller. I can only imagine how they treat people when the HVAC unit goes bad. As usual, go away and Murphy's Law came to visit on the hottest day in summer as our A/C went out. Hecox had helped us get many years out of a subpar system that came with the house so we knew a new system was going to happen eventually. We were given three options for a new system (which was a gas heat and electric A/C unit). They installed it quickly which brought comfort to our family and pets. The price was fair for such work and a much better system.
