I feel fortunate that for the past nearly 10 years Dr. Thomas Yau has been my ophthalmologist. From my very first visit to my most recent, Dr. Yau has shown me that he is a true professional with a singular objective of helping his patients. He is clear with his responses to questions and thorough in describing the purpose or results of my diagnosis. Just as importantly, he is personable, thoughtful and respectful. I have complete trust in his ability and his judgment.
Not too long ago, I underwent cataract removal procedures performed by Dr. Yau. Since each eye is done separately, the complete process requires two procedures. After rather lengthy periods of procrastination on my part, I finally agreed and the procedure to do the first eye arrived. To my total amazement the procedure was painless, almost discomfort-less and was completed literally in minutes. The impact though was dramatic. The world I was seeing now was much brighter and totally in-focus. I could not believe the improvement in my eyesight after going through such an "easy-on-the-patient" procedure. Needless to say the second eye was done shortly thereafter. Two follow-up visits, one for each eye, were required and both visits were non-events. Dr. Yau had completed these procedures in a manner that I define as perfection.
