The sign state the gates close at 5, we were there shortly after 4, and the gate was locked, both by the admin bldg and by Delavan Ave. called the number listed, but no one answered. left a v/m, never got a return call. had to go through the cemetery and out onto Delaware Ave. Had we been in a car, that would have been no big deal, but we were on our bikes which added significantly to our ride b/c we still needed to get back to Main St. in order to get home. Located on Delaware in a stately mansion this location has multiple rooms to accommodate different gatherings. The rooms are nicely done, have a number of couches and chairs, allow for plenty of room for flowers and pictures and are generally well laid out. The Amigone employees are terrific. They are courteous but reserved. They answer questions as needed but don't get in the way. They will even take message for people there if needed. The parking lot often has an attendant or two if its crowded, which is pretty useful. Its also big and can accommodate many cars if needed. If you are in the need of these services this location is worth a call to check availability.

I highly recommend the John E Roberts Funeral Home for their meticulous organization that is personal and not perfunctory. Everyone on staff was genuinely warm and understanding. From coordinating church service, military honors with flag presentation and a bronze plaque at his gravesite for Veterans to the flowers on my father's casket (gorgeous white lilies and ranunculus) it was beautiful and understated. Our family didn't feel rushed or pressured at the wake or the service and burial. The personal service set it apart from other funeral homes: I'd been to two services for my grandmother and stepfather 10 and 15 years ago and they were cold and impersonal compared to John E Roberts Funeral Home.

My sister was cremated but all of the arrangements were taken care of through the funeral home. We made arrangements on a Wednesday and they made sure we had my sister's urn ready for her memorial dinner two days later on Friday. We spoke to Lisa when we picked up the urn and she was so kind and hugged both me and my mom. The price for the cremation was reasonable compared to other funeral homes in the area.

For instance, in late August, I encountered a problem with a yellow jacket nest next to a relative's grave. Matt and his crew took care of the problem within 24 hours.
