I used this business and was so impressed with this company I applied for a job. Honest reliable…read moreand great at what they do.

This group sent an "Certified Foundation Consultant", (read salesman) to our home upon our request…read moreto have an evaluation done on a tilt in our master bedroom floor going into our bathroom. It was caused by a support jack being put under a beam apparently in the wrong place, prior to our contacting them. When we left for a one week vacation our chest of drawers was standing straight, when we arrived home it we leaning against the wall, so this was no minor tilt. This man (the first of two) also drew a sketch of the support beams exact placement and marked HVAC in the exact spot which was almost butted up against the unit. We still have the sketch in our files. After measuring under the house as well as in our bedroom directly above, he sat down with us and proceeded to tell us all of the ways that RamJack could correct, or at least improve our situation. Never ONCE did he mention the FIVE TON HVAC UNIT which if he was a "foundation consultant" he surely must have seen would be a problem. He then proceeded to inform us that if we chose to move ahead with them, we would need to write them a $640.00 check for them to pull a permit. We did not understand at the time that it was non refundable. This was on July 6, 2023. On July 31st they finally got someone back out here to begin the work. He came inside, with an assistant, and looked at the floor, took some measurements, then went under the house. He was back up in ten minutes or less with "some bad news". It seemed that the exact spot where they would need to dig to install the two eight foot deep pillar supports was DIRECTLY BESIDE the HVAC. Not enough room for them to get in there and do what was proposed. PROPOSED by the first consultant who came and had obviously seen the problem and chose not to call our attention to it. So now we were told that the HVAC, AGAIN, FIVE TONS would have to be MOVED temporarily for them to do the job and then moved back. We were promptly informed that they don't do HVAC work so we had to call in the company who installed it. They gave us an estimate for moving and replacing the HVAC of $5,000.00. We decided to try and find another solution, so put RamJack on pause. We went back to the original installers of the first smaller jacks to see if they could do anything without moving it. We let RAMJACK know that we would not be moving forward with them. However, we were not refunded our $640.00, we did see later, in the fine print that it was non refundable, HOWEVER we feel that was definite neglect on the part of the first man, the consultant. We entered into that contract for pulling the permit WITHOUT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of the very expensive impediment that we would face. They still have our $640.00 and have refused to work with us on this, even though, the consultant's neglecting to mention the HVAC situation was the reason that we felt confident moving forward. We would NEVER have written that check if we had know this. We feel that we were taken advantage of, because of our lack of knowledge of these things, which is supposed to be their business. They are supposed to inform you before you sign up of any potential issues, though they would say this does not apply I think it does. This review is written, as a cautionary tale for future customers. We are 70 years old and retired. This company had no problem keeping our money which we gave in good faith that they would inform us of any and all potential issues BEFORE we wrote the check to pull the permit. I know they are a widely known brand, and that is why we called them, however, if I had it to do over we would not call them again. Do not write these people a check to pull a permit until AFTER you have had at least their own repair people look at it, or better yet a second opinion from another source. I hope that taking the time to write this will save at least one person from getting into this situation with them. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company.
