Thankfully, Aloha Pediatric Dental (my son's dental office) recommended Dr Rahmatian. He's been great and I am a lot less nervous now for my visits -even though it's never really a fun time is it in the chair. I also appreciate that it is a small office and there is pretty much no delay or wait time for appointments. One tip, don't use the overpriced parking lot next to the office. Look for street parking behind the little park around Prince or Regent.

Dr Bernstein is a godsend. I had a TERRIBLE experience in LA with placement of two veneers. It…read moreresulted in gum disease, discomfort, and poor aesthetics. It all came to a head when I was 8 months pregnant and one of them chipped. This time around I did my research and went with the best of the best for cosmetics. From the first time I met with Dr. Bernstein, I knew I was in the right place. There was no stress or anxiety -- I knew what was happening every step of the way. He immediately identified the error that resulted in the gum disease and referred me out for gum surgery before veneer replacement. Everything went great, I often get compliments on my teeth, and people are shocked when I tell them they are veneers because they look so natural. This was over 10 years ago. On Monday of this week, I suddenly had a small tooth chip from behind one of my veneers when I was eating. I was terrified that I was going to have to replace them and it unearthed the anxiety from the first time in LA. But no need to fear, Dr. Bernstein got me in straightaway to take a look. I assumed he would do an assessment and have me come back to get it fixed. Not so. He told me it would just take a little bonding, and proceeded to do it right then and there, free of charge. We had a great chat and caught up, then I was on my way. Again, the original placement was over 10 years ago and yet saw me no issue and with my charge! The office staff is all incredible, the space is gorgeous, the skill is expert, and the customer service is phenomenal. Could not recommend more -- and this coming from someone who went through a mediocre dentist the first time around. Don't hesitate to work with Dr. Bernstein and his team!!

I have been seeing Dr. Rangchi for the past 5 years. He is consistently professional, caring,…read morefriendly, and up front about the condition of my teeth and what my options would be. I had an old filling which was falling out (not his work) and he put a crown on it - I have had no problems and you can't tell I have it. I also had some slightly exposed root where the gum had receded and he put a protective fix on it. Again, can't tell and no problems. Recently I had gotten poor scores for gum health (you know, those numbers they call out and your shame starts to build??). It had been getting worse and I use an electric toothbrush but I hadn't been flossing well. Dr. Rangchi did a deep gum cleaning and then a follow up a month later. I made sure to start flossing every day (yes, every day, not lying to the dentist for once!). My scores were hugely improved and he used the word "textbook." My insurance (Cigna) required this follow up visit in order to cover both visits, and it was no problem. I was glad I went back because it was good to know the procedure really helped. They also recommended a prescription mouthwash which is awesome (Peridex) and leaves your teeth feeling like you just brushed them for hours afterward. I also wanted to say that the front desk help and the assistants have always been extremely friendly. I am not kept waiting long and they are good about making the follow-up appointments and reminding you. Dr. Rangchi is very knowledgeable and personable. He always asks about how my kids are doing and we chat. It's a nice office. I really enjoy my time at the dentist - as much as one can!

I continue to proclaim that Mr. Rangchi is a conman and a crook. His response to my comment was…read moredevious and misguiding. No dentist only performs an exam and then books you for another visit to do the routine cleaning. Insurances cover preventative care which requires a preventative cleaning. His attempt to prolong my visits was a deliberate attempt at insurance fraud. He "diagnosed" me with periodontal decay midway through my routine cleaning with the dental hygienist and insisted I do a periodontal cleaning. Periodontal cleanings are done over 2-4 visits under anesthesia and performed by the dentist not an assistant, because they are very invasive and painful. This type of cleaning is mostly performed on older adults. As person that has been getting her teeth cleaned by a dentist every 6 months and getting x-rays once a year for 40 years and has never been told anything close to this "diagnosis", this is alarming. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't read his reviews until after I visited his office. I went to his office because he was a walking distance from my apartment and he was in my insurance network. READ ALL REVIEWS, start with the negative AND detailed ones. The ones with no comments or bubbly short comments are most likely fake. Conmen know how to game the review systems. My explanation of benefits stated he had performed a periodontal cleaning over a period of two visits. As he said in his response, I only visited his office once as a new patient and never visited his office again. I reported him to my insurance for fraud and to the board of dentists of California. However, these systems are built on trust bestowed on the dentists, and the paperwork submitted, whether truthful or not. Only after multiple people report him will they actually investigate him. CHECK YOUR EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS! If his diagnosis seems extreme, get a second opinion. Don't fall for the conman's sense of urgency. If he makes you feel like you have to take care of it right away, it means he doesn't want you to research it and educate yourself or get a second opinion. REPORT INSURANCE FRAUD. I have since visited 2 dentists and had 4 routine preventative exams and cleanings. Not once has another dentists said I have periodontal decay. He clearly lied and committed insurance fraud. Lastly, Mr. Rangchi, thank you for calling me a "very young adult". Looks like my facial care, along with my dental care, are both working very well.

This was not pleasant but I was willing to accept even though I have dual insurance coverage and would not have to pay any portion. The unpleasant part of being a patients is you plan and budget to pay for a services such as exam and cleaning and when I showed up for the appointment they added X-rays and others services as well. Not a problem just would have been good to know about the added expenses I would be charging on my credit card. The bigger concern...the doctor did not review my X-rays with me and advised that I have a crown that is decaying which she seen on my X-rays and needed attention. Also advised to remove my silver fillings and replace them. What she did not expect was my response that I DO NOT HAVE ANY CROWNS IN MY MOUTH. Then she said well they must be a partial. Huh?? Not even that. I had a clear small filling sealer which still was 98%+ of my tooth still in tact. Wow. My childhood dentist who retired last year informed me that any good dentist will show you your X-rays and identify the problem with you, if not don't trust them. I mentioned to her that I would like to think and consult with my childhood dentist and she gave me the most rough and poor cleaning experience ever. Parts were so painful from the scraping I had to stop her twice. Then upon exiting, she refused to complete the exam and discussion then stated perhaps I should go back to my retired dentist for further service. And that they would email my X-rays to me. It's sad that Dr Pokeras the founding dentist left such a reputable establishment in the hands of such an undesirable dentist. Obviously I will not be returning here.

The office now is way too busy and they are not paying attention to detail. I was not informed of issues that were very serious, that I only discovered once I went to a different dentist. This caused me an incredible amount of suffering and expense, not to mention that it may be phobic about going to the dentist. I also had serious issues with what was supposed to be minor work. I'm not leaving this review to throw shade, but to protect anyone who is considering becoming a patient or questioning whether to continue as one... I know I was starting to wonder whether I would continue. I wish I would have moved on sooner. These issues affected me for almost an entire year. It's hard these days to find quality care. I would look for an office where they have intro, oral cameras, so they can show you what they are seeing. I trusted them for all these years to be the eyes inside my mouth, and they let me down big-time.
