5 stars and they continue to surprise me…read more Based on my visit on July 17, 2025, I want to add to my 5 star 2022 review, and to all the other positive things people have written here. The actions of everyone involved with that visit exceeded the already high opinion and expectations I've had for this practice. (Probably TMI, but I was returning after a 15-month gap, though the assumption at my last visit was that I'd have more dental work done and another cleaning before the end of 2004. I'd phoned earlier this week and Karissa was able to work some skilled scheduling magic to get me seen much sooner than I'd expected.) Dr. Lim was, as always, pleasant and skilled in his exam, and then excellent at clearly explaining the changes since he'd last seen me and what our options were for proceeding. Then he clearly and transparently answered my questions about the pros and cons of each option, and we agreed on a plan for the future dental work. Then, my teeth were cleaned by dental hygienist Kat (or Cat, shame on. me for not having clarified the spelling of her name, especially since this was the second time she'd worked on my teeth). For 20 years or more, until her retirement, Leslie had been the hygienist at this office who did my cleanings. She was excellent, and I figured she'd be a "hard act to follow," so it was a very pleasant surprise when Kat did my cleaning in 2024 and I realized that her skill level at both dental hygiene and patient interaction is everything one could possibly wish for, which was again the case on July 17. Also, the "desk staff" are always pleasant and helpful, including, of course, Mindy, who answered the phone when I called the next day to get the correct spelling of Karissa's name while neglecting to get the correct spelling of Cat's, and to explain that I was going to ignore the request to do a Google review but would add to my previous Yelp review. As I now have.

I came 15min early and only waited about 10min in the reception area after checking in. Fatima was my hygienist and was super sweet to me especially after bonking my head on their 360degree x-ray machine. She got me ice. But it was a very loud bonk. They should definitely verbalize to patients to "watch their head" while approaching the machine and explain what is happening next. It is a very tight and narrow hallway to the restroom which is also nearby the single x-ray machine that the office shares. I think adding a few neon or bright colored signs or stickers directly on the machine might help! After I was resting in the dental chair in my patient room and my cleaning was done, Fatima continued to talk to me about my next steps in my career and was very insightful about her own path to hygienist school. She continued to be pleasant and guided me (safely) to the DDS exam room. No 2nd injuries for me. Fatima continued to apologize and I could tell felt really bad about me hitting my head pretty hard. My forehead was swollen by the end of the week but it's 100% healed now. I have my next 6-month cleaning scheduled and excited to be back.

I had felt during the initial two minute meeting that the doctor's financial interests and my interests were opposed. I showed up for the dental work, but was not clear about the reasons for the work. Dr. SINGH met with me for about five minutes and explained the needs. It seemed to me that that the issues with the two teeth had migrated from one to the other. They were going to charge me $6800 for the two crowns. I was unsatisfied. It just didn't feel right. I walked out. In the car car after I walked out, I looked up what the average cost of two crowns is in Berkley California. The average cost for two crowns is less than half what I was going to be charged at Berkley dentistry. I looked up on Yelp and find they have a 2.8 rating, which is composed of overwhelmingly 1 star ratings balanced by a few four star ratings. I would avoid Dr. SINGH at all costs. I believe he is only interested in charging exorbitant prices. Instead of being concerned for the welfare of his patients he is concerned only in picking their pockets. That Dr. and his entire office should be ashamed! They should absolutely be ashamed!

Dr. Kami is exceptionally thorough. He takes his time, double-checks everything, and communicates clearly about what he's doing and why. I never feel rushed, and I always feel like my questions and concerns are taken seriously. Jen assisted with my most recent crown and was wonderful. The entire team is kind, attentive, and especially good with anxious patients. They listen, explain, empathize, and make a real effort to keep you comfortable. Even with three crowns, my experiences have been nearly painless. Dental work is never something I look forward to, but having a team that combines technical skill and attention to detail with excellent communication and genuine empathy makes an enormous difference. I'm very grateful to Dr. Kami, Jen, and the entire team for taking such good care of me. Highly recommend.

Let me be clear- the new staff is AWESOME! They're kind, professional, and excellent with my son. The dental work is still great, and my MetLife insurance is still being charged, with just a copayment that I get reimbursed by FSA. My 10-year-old autistic son has had positive interactions with every doctor and dental assistant here in the four years we've been coming, so technically, I can't complain. He just got sealants placed on the back of his teeth and once again he had a GREAT EXPERIENCE with the doctor and their assistant. So obviously I will give them Five stars for their stellar work and customer service! I'll keep coming back, but I'm worried about how much longer this location will last. I'm concerned about the staff turnover, which seems to have happened at this location. Faces I grew accustomed to are gone, and it makes me worry. The cozy office vibe is also gone, replaced by what feels like a corporate takeover with questionable decorating taste. They've installed cheap wooden panels with black lines on the walls of the patient rooms and amateurish paint job in the waiting area ‍. Ugh what is up with that!?! The reception counter's been torn down, and the receptionist is now hidden behind a computer screen at the back of the office. The sitting room's been reduced to two chairs, supposedly to keep wait times down, but it feels impersonal. I'm worried about the pressure on the doctors and hygienists to rush through appointments so no one is left standing. I dread the thought of starting over with new doctors and staff. I like having a doctor who knows our medical history and has built a relationship with us. With this corporate vibe, I'm wondering how long this place will last if good people keep leaving.

However, after I started receiving calls from AI bots to schedule my appointments, I left and started going to a dental office that has a real person on the phone. The THD office itself is nice and clean but I still want to talk to a human being when I call with questions and concerns. And I certainly don't want AI bots calling me. I also find it upsetting that their receptionists lost their jobs because of this and I don't wish to support it.
