Went here for high school and I am grateful for all the wonderful opportunities and education I…read morereceived here. Many years later, I still remember many of the lessons my teachers had taught me in math, science, choir, drivers ed, and other subjects. They were always a little tough on grading and pushed a bit harder for critical thinking and understanding rather than memorizing a subject. This came in use for college when many tests consisted of short answer and essay questions instead of simply reciting memorized facts. One of the best parts of going to school here was the robust activities program. From chess to newspaper to choir, there were always plenty of opportunities to enrich ones learning before, during, and after the school day. This was an invaluable way to learn new skills and make new friends while learning from highly qualified mentors. Palatine High School is a great high school that really prepares students well for success later in life.

I wrote a review on Google and the school censored it. The principal, Donna Bingaman, doesn't want…read moreanyone to know how bad a job she is doing at this school so she blocked my review. And then she tried to write a nice description of how GB is growing the kids as a whole, academically, blah, blah. But the truth is they are not teaching the kids anything and the kids are falling behind the district in test scores. The teachers (Fortman and Adams) are so lazy and Bingaman doesn't do anything about it. How can they are growing the kids if they are not teaching them the basics in math, reading, and science. And then there is Bingaman's attitude of, 'Oh, I am the principal so I don't need to talk to the parents or the students'. I have never seen her trying to say hi to the students or any parent at any school event. So awkward when the parents try to avoid her. But really, I don't really care about this BS. I feel sorry for the kids who will struggle in middle school.

This district has a very high caliber of talent that is impressive!!! A special shout-out should be given to the specials teachers including Music and Gym. I felt grateful the school opened when it did compared to other Chicagoland districts. Amazing effort by the staff this year!! Keep up the great work at Greenbrier.

The students are very inclusive and welcoming here, but the teachers and staff treat them like animals. Security is not existent here, drugs abuse among good, well respected students is out of control, and all the school does is continues changing course materials and curriculums to become more progressive. The number of threatening emails, phone calls, and letters sent by 'Assistant Principals' is outrageous. There is definitely many class-action lawsuits in the making here...

OH MY GOD- talk about preaching to the choir- it was SCHAUMBURG FUCKING HIGHSCHOOL IN 1988- ground zero in all the nation for the giant suburban hair I HATED! As serious as the resulting out-of-school suspension and Saturday schools (2 of 'em!) were, I had trouble holding back the laughter! At least I had a week off to practice Foosball at "the Barn" and Saturday school locker cleaning duty resulted in me getting my first "Schaumburg Saxon Pride Award..." the one I stole from some award-winning kid's locker who didn't turn the dial to lock it! Haha, Schaumburg High School sucked when I went there, and I'm sure it sucks now!

Our experience with this school was extremely disappointing…read more Our 9-year-old son was isolated and subjected to ongoing bullying by a group of boys. The situation was visible to teachers and staff, yet we as parents were never informed about what was happening. Instead of protecting a child who was clearly struggling, the school allowed the behavior to continue and left him to cope with it on his own. What is most concerning is that while our son suffered the consequences of this bullying, the students involved continued to receive recognition and rewards, with no visible accountability for their actions. A school's first responsibility is to provide a safe and supportive environment for its students. In our experience, this school failed to meet that responsibility.

bre like Fremd lowk turned crazy asf them kids are actually like tweaked dont send ur kids here if…read moreu don't wanna them to get jumped in the br at 7am bc that's the stuff that be happening in this "school" they prioritize being a "top ranked school" except the only reason for that is because u can literally only fail if u try hard enough bc of the Fremd 50 they give these kids detention or iss for skipping a class but when kids are getting threatened and harassed or actually report something, they look the other way. They only act like they care and supervise when someone calls them out for it. Otherwise, the hall monitors have no human respect and if you're really lucky they might go into the bathroom with your children and instead of just making sure it's clean like their supposed to, they stand there and look into your closed stall! so be careful if u doom your children to go to school here because you are sending them into a building with predators, adults that act like they're in preschool, and teachers and staff that have zero respect for anybody and the most they teach is that you just have to "try harder" Fremd used to be a good school, maybe ten years ago, but nobody there cares about the students and their well-being . don't send your kids here!

My son is a student at this school and he loves it. It is a school for "gifted" children and while…read moreI hate that label it is what it is. The school goes from pre K-8th grade which is a great thing since the kids will be in one school until high school. It is a private school so it does cost quite a bit but it really is an exceptional school. Whether or not it's worth the money I can't really say. Personally, I would cringe at the price tag if Einstein himself were teaching my child. They just built a new building this year and it is amazing. So much better than the old building they were in. Lots of room and the capability to have more students, classes and teachers. Some pros: The facility is wonderful, the teachers are great and really care about the kids. Reading and math are based on ability, not on grade. So, if your 5-6 year old is reading like a nine-year old, they will be put in with those readers. The school isn't even "grade" based. there is no "1st grade", etc. It is level based. They have a GREAT fine arts program. Extensive art, music and drama programs that you won't find in a public school. Some cons: There is a bit of an elitist attitude there at times but I think it comes more from parents than the staff. There is a bit of communication problem with the school and the parents. There just doesn't seem to be a cohesive way for parents to get the information they need. If you're considering sending your child here, definitely sign up for a visit and a shadow day. Personally, as long as we can afford it, my son will be going to this school.

One of the things about SAA that makes it unique is that the fact that you will do as well as the work you put in. As long as you take advantage of the local resources and have some self motivation to do well, it isn't hard to master the schoolwork and beyond. The teachers are willing to help if you are willing to ask, even when it comes down to academics beyond the classroom. For example, when I needed help for my High School application, or improving my SAT scores, my teachers were glad to lend me a hand. Also, I have to give props to the excelled math program that SAA offers. Where I initially did not enjoy math as a subject at all, SAA motivated me to improve my math ability. I eventually became part of the Math Team and found a passion for mathematics. SAA was a great choice for me, and I got a lot out of my experience.

Former student here, so I can give a better perspective than some of the kiss ass parents on here…read more I gave it two stars to be generous, as there are some good things to ND overall but the bad outweighs the good here. Pros: -Classes are great and teachers want to help you. -After school stuff is well funded and well organized. -The sports events are fun to go to and the team plays well. -There's some elements of cameraderie (I'll focus on it later) -Food is fantastic. Cons: -Students can be right-leaning, some even bordering white nationalism (students have used pro-Confederate quotes on Instagram, and publicly have used racial slurs along with positive feelings toward bringing back slavery). -Homogenous school setting (almost everyone is a middle class, white, Republican prep kid that likes some sport. No one is really diverse or unique). -Lack of IEP/Special Ed programs. -The administration, while friendly, tends to favor the vox populi rather than the people getting bullied. You can see that my only problems with this school is the kids and the lack of IEP programs. Everything else about is good. If you want a good Catholic school for your child, I'd recommend it if they can keep to themselves politically. Otherwise, if they're Left of Centre all I can say is get the popcorn ready.
