Pros: -Classes are great and teachers want to help you. -After school stuff is well funded and well organized. -The sports events are fun to go to and the team plays well. -There's some elements of cameraderie (I'll focus on it later) -Food is fantastic. Cons: -Students can be right-leaning, some even bordering white nationalism (students have used pro-Confederate quotes on Instagram, and publicly have used racial slurs along with positive feelings toward bringing back slavery). -Homogenous school setting (almost everyone is a middle class, white, Republican prep kid that likes some sport. No one is really diverse or unique). -Lack of IEP/Special Ed programs. -The administration, while friendly, tends to favor the vox populi rather than the people getting bullied. You can see that my only problems with this school is the kids and the lack of IEP programs. Everything else about is good. If you want a good Catholic school for your child, I'd recommend it if they can keep to themselves politically. Otherwise, if they're Left of Centre all I can say is get the popcorn ready.

The teachers have helped my girls become better students and both of them made honor roll every trimester last year. They also have a top notch basketball program. The girls team has won the state championship many years and won nationals last year. The coaches are phenomenal and have really taught my girls how to be competitive athletes with tenacity and integrity. We now have more confident and happy young ladies that work harder then they ever did before. I honestly can't say enough about what an amazing experience we've had at Immanuel! My kid is a 10-year old boy, and although he doesn't always want to go this school because of the extra work, he understands, how much it benefits him to attend classes there. Now, he is one of the best students at his regular school and attends an advanced math class! He also gained some programmer's skills at Stella Academy and built his own website. We are really proud of him. I hope the owners of the business wouldn't mind me opening this page. I just thought that more people should know about it. The library was a great place to have the coaches and judges meet. It is full of books and has a great relaxing feel to it. The classrooms hosted the individual rooms where the debating took place. Julia Walsh, who ran for Arlington Heights Village President, was my kindergarten teacher. Olive recently expanded their offerings to provide all day kindergarten. Recent renovations will expand physical education and other classes. I have nothing but good memories of this school. I highly recommend Olive Mary Stitt Elementary School.

They helped us with every step along the way and it was smooth process especially with moving half way through the school year. Now going into our second year here we still feel that this school was the right decision. Our daughter went to school at a NYC Public School and while that school is also great (FYI... P.S 122 was my elementary school also) this place really focuses on reading which is something that we feel is most important. NYC was trying to fit too many subjects all at once and for kindergarten and 1st grade we felt she should become strong in the basic foundation of education. All the teachers here are amazing and real sweethearts with the kids. But Mrs. Naughten and Mrs. Nordman are special to my family. Arlington Heights is known for its good school district and I can tell you that OMS definitely represents that.

One would be hard pressed to find a school that could offer a better experience for their child than St Emily's does. The teachers and staff are caring individuals who are clearly dedicated to the education and welfare of the students. It is evident in viewing the organization of the classrooms and the demeanor of the students that everyone there is dedicated to ensuring that students grow and learn. The school emits a positive atmosphere that is most evident in watching the interaction among students and staff. Disrespect is seldom seen here. And one thing that really amazes me is when I see older students communicating with younger students in a caring, interested manner. On numerous occasions I have seen older students asking the younger ones how they are doing or feeling and the students carrying on peer to peer conversations regardless of their age or grade differences. "Bullying" just isn't part of the process or vocabulary here. For me, this school is the closest to the education I received in the public schools in Oak Park many years ago - an education I have treasured all my life. And while the teachers can knock their socks off trying to educate their students, credit also needs to go to the parents for the positive atmosphere too - manners and discipline start in the home! The work is about one grade level higher, but our daughter seemed to be thriving in the intense curriculum and looked like she was having fun everyday! I really appreciate the small classroom size and one on one attention.
