Stumbled on this place in a panic, yes admittedly it is odd to enter a butchers in a panic, dead…read moremeat is not exactly conducive to calmer a person. It was last Sunday, the folks called, 'Annie we are on our way we decided to surprise you for Sunday dinner.' Which translates as, 'Annie we are on our way to snoop around your apartment and to see if you care enough to cook us Sunday dinner.' I woke with my pillow stuck to my hungover face when the text woke me. Stuffing the party paraphernalia of the night before in the washing machine in haze whilst sleeping bodies twitched at my feet. Once the clean up was done, the dinner panic ensued, this butchers signage welcomed me in. Once the butchers stopped laughing at me, they picked out the best cut of meat to cut in a hurry, they even told me the best temperature to put it at. Best of all they are cheap, I'm all about the cheap. The result was the folks loved it and believe that I am a well adjusted adult.

This is a fantastic butcher. Always have a great selection of meats including some more rare…read moreproducts (excuse the pun). For example, on Fridays they get in these deliciously tender venison medallions in. They are so good that they are usually gone that evening. They do lots of deals for buying protein in bulk and have lots of other deals on everything from chicken fillets to steaks. The guy who runs the place is lovely as well. He is always ready and willing to give advice and recomendations on their meats.

Wandering around Dublin while on holiday and we stumbled across this palace of meat, the saddest…read morething is we were unable to take anything home to throw on the BBQ because we were staying at a hotel, but the prices looked very reasonable, their breakfast special for €9 was a steal... 8 sausages 1 lb Black Rasher 1/2 Black Pudding 1/2 White Pudding 6 Eggs Meat, Fish, Poultry pretty much any cut or meat you are looking for was available, and while there was some disappointment that we couldn't throw some on the BBQ it was short lived when I discovered that they have several excellent restaurants in Dublin If you can't take it home, it is lovely to look at and you can eat some tasty Irish Beef in one of their fine restaurants or one of the many of the other fine restaurants in the city

There's more than a few butchers to pick from on Moore Street, but with FX Buckley's on the corner,…read morethere seems to be just one choice. Bigger, well stocked and thriving, FX Buckley's on Moore street is one of the last old timers still open in this traditional green market street. Just off Henry street and taking up three huge shop fronts Buckley's is cornering the market on speciality, traditional and every day meats. There's rashers and loops of pudding, sides of beef and shoulders of lamb. Over the summer I was a religious weekly visitor, snapping up their chicken fillet deal of 10 for €9.99 (while steering well clear of that case of tripe, livers and hearts). Things can get busy during the day so expect to queue for a few minutes while the missus ahead of you gets her week's order of steak mince. As in any good butchers, the white-coated professionals here are happy to dispense a bit of butcherly advice on cooking your purchase or if it's right for the recipe you're planning on!

Came here hopping to get some ingredients with a mate, and didn't find all we needed…read more Not a larger selection as promised, but overall a great place to buy some good food. All the vendors are super friendly and love to make conversation! Great way to spend a morning! The ambiance is very quaint and friendly! Overall a great atmosphere and way to buy. Will come here for certain vegetables and lunch when I'm in the city

Thank you for the recommendation, Fodor's! (yes, I bought their travel guide like a true tourist.)…read more My friends and I wanted to try some Ireland oysters because we heard they were supposedly super fresh. We were running out of time on our hunt to find them when I realized, 'I've got my trusty guidebook!!' And that's how we ended up here. It was 12 Euros for 6 oysters and a glass of wine. Since there were four of us, the lady was nice enough to give us 4 cups of wine (yes, plastic cups - it's a farmer's market, what do you expect!) They even threw in an extra oyster! SO FRESH! SO BIG! (cue that's-what-she-said joke). Compared to NYC oysters, these babies looked like they were on steroids! They also have this dipping sauce (had onions and was really vinegar-y, but good. But if you don't like the sour, you should just take the oyster straight.) Didn't eat anything else from other stands because we just had lunch. However, I believe they had shish kebabs, crepes, and bread. Oh and FYI - Sheridans Cheesemongers was there (saw this place on Anthony Bourdain when he went to Dublin so thought this might be worth mentioning). Definitely check out this farmer's market!
