Solis Construction recently (April 2019) completed an 18 month long…read morecomplete remodel of our 114-year-old home and when I say complete remodel I mean everything, from attic to foundation, all new systems, plumbing, electrical, bathroom and kitchen total remodels along with new tile, all the way to exterior siding repair and new paint. To say we were satisfied is a total understatement - from the first Alfredo was on site everyday with his guys and it's not exaggerating to say that they became almost like family. They worked in a timely and efficient manner and were very good about cleaning up every day where feasible, putting up plastic sheeting to reduce dust, etc. It always a little uncomfortable opening up your home to strangers, turning over the keys and letting them have access while you are absent, but from day one Alfredo called and texted every day of the project to let us know what the day's work would entail and then he would follow-up with a review, which was very much appreciated, so there was no wondering what work was being done on what day. They were very accommodating on our requests for certain modifications to the plans (adding an outlet or a external lighting, adding an accent color to the exterior paint, etc.) and the work was completed on schedule (except where the weather made working outside difficult) and to our absolute satisfaction. I can highly recommend Alfredo and J.Solis Construction and we will definitely be calling them again when we're ready to landscape our front and backyards. A neighbor recommended Alpha & Omega Home Improvements, and we called them for an estimate. We were so impressed with the owner, Jaime Trujillo, that we hired him immediately. Jaime did an amazingly beautiful job on the floors, and over the course of the month he worked on them, we had several conversations with him about other jobs he had worked on. As a result of those conversations we hired him to paint the entire interior of the house, followed by several other projects including tearing down an old wooden deck, and the various painting and carpentry tasks related to that project. Jaime is a superbly skilled craftsman who takes great pride in his work, and he has an attitude and work ethic that is rare these days. Now almost 18 months later we are still talking about him (fondly).

We had a mixed experience working with Eddie from Caros Painting…read more On the positive side, Eddie went above and beyond in ways that weren't directly tied to the painting job. He connected us with helpful resources for haul-away, stucco and under-house insulation, and even took time to help us move our washer and dryer from storage into our new home. Those efforts were genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the core service we hired him for--painting--was deeply disappointing. We hired Eddie with the expectation that he would be directly involved in the work, but the job was subcontracted out with little to no visible oversight. As a result, quality suffered significantly. The work on the baseboards and doors throughout the house was poorly executed, and despite commitments to return and fix it, that never happened. There were also issues with how the project was managed: * The job was underbid, and we ultimately paid more than the original estimate (around $20K total). * The project was left incomplete, including exterior painting that we now have to pay someone else to finish--at a higher cost. * Payment was requested ahead of completion, and Eddie stopped responding to calls and messages. Additionally, Eddie is not licensed. We hired him to complete work after a previous contractor, and not having a license limited our ability to pursue any recourse--something we should have verified upfront. The most disappointing part of this experience was the lack of follow-through. Eddie was aware of the challenges we had already faced with the project, yet the work was not completed to standard, and commitments to make it right were not honored. We went into this with trust and good faith, but ultimately, the project was left unfinished and below expectations. And candidly was just disappointing to be treated this way after all we had already been through. I'm only offering a handful of photos just to demonstrate the quality. There are way too many blemishes to count.
