This man is Amazing! After many years of trying to find an Eye Doctor that would listen to me and my thoughts on my eye health, Dr. Wolfe is the one. He asked my opinion, he listen to my concerns, he observed my symptoms, and gave me a diagnosis. Never, have I ever been asked about what I think, or how I feel when my eyes are reacting a certain way. I felt comfortable speaking to Dr. Wolfe, during a couple of the stations he has, I told him what was happening in the moment, and it seemed to help him understand my condition in a way that only could benefit me, giving me a clearer understanding of "what" and "why" my eyes do what they do. I have been a patient with dr wolf for many years but lately things have gone down hill for this place . today I hade a two o'clock appointment. they should have said three. they tend to give three appointments for the same time so if you're the third two o'clock appointment you'll get in at three . Dr. Wolf has come VERY highly recommended by my friends and family in Ventura County. Today is February 1st. I have been trying to make an appointment since December 4th. On December 4th I was told that I would have to call back "because I can't take your appointment right now". Ok, no problem, I get that. I have called 4 times subsequently, two of which I was on hold and disconnected. Finally, about a week ago I had an appointment scheduled for Friday morning (tomorrow). I made arrangements to take off work and scheduled my very-tough-to-get appointment. I just got off the phone with the front office staff after being told my appointment is cancelled due to an emergency (24 hours in advance?) and the next appointment is over 2 weeks away. Each time I had the displeasure of dealing with the same staff member, I was treated in a very unprofessional manner and I had the distinct impression that this lady was disorganized at best. It's a shame that I won't be visiting the Dr as he's been rated very highly and I'd like to be in such good care. His support staff however is inexcusable and is likely costing him money and patients. Sigh. read more

Rudest service from Olinda/person picking up the phone!!! As a new customer, I called in today to get some information on the prices. When she asked that I go in for an appointment, she didn't suggest a date so I thought to mention the day after if its available and she laughed. I stopped her and told her that she was so rude, that the doctor lost a patient because of her. I am happy to go somewhere else and found another place with better customer service. I also had to repeat my information to her 4 times over the phone, how hard is it to catch someone's contact number??Olinda needs to be fired if the doctor wants business. My family and I have been visiting Dr. Wolf over the last 10 years now. He's fantastic! The exams are easy enough. He has an assortment of frames from designers to simple ones. You can also get sunnies if your vision didn't change after your last visit. My sister was lucky enough to do so! The only thing about Dr. Wolf is that the hours are a little funky and not very flexible. They are open in the morning on Saturdays so that's a plus. Also depending on the day, his secretary can be.. Not so friendly. Like my tip said, don't talk to her. She will slay you with words! Lucky me she wasn't there on my last visit. Amen for new staff! The person who helped me was very sweet and accommodating. No need to go into specifics on how you can tell the difference between the two, you will know once you walk in! Anywho, Dr. Wolf also takes most insurances so I highly recommend him! read more

Dr Wolf is an excellent eye Dr. He has the bells and whistles to perform your thorough eye exam. Great demeanor, very caring about his patients. Great quality lenses. Costco lenses give me migraines-not Wolf's lens supplier. We have been seeing him for over 20 years. Office staff is helpful too. read more

They check your eyes really good and they give you really nice glasses to pick and the glasses really help your eyes

First of all, Dr. Wolf is an amazing eye doctor, but his receptionist (Linda) is horrible. I came to pick up my contact samples after receiving a phone call that they're ready for pick up, I was just next door and came right away. Told the receptionist that I was there for pick up and that she just called me roughly 3 minutes ago. The receptionist doesn't know what I was talking about and shouted to Julie in the back. Not sure what's wrong with Linda, but after reading all the comments here she definitely has a reputation of being rude to customers, not sure why Dr. Wolf still keeps her around. read more

I use to be a patient here several years ago and with my recent experience assisting my little brother with his glasses validated the reason why I left. My brother had to return his glasses because the lab mistakenly produced the wrong lens type (they added bifocals to his lens which was incorrect). Keep in mind that my brother is a college student and relies on his glasses for school. He was very patient and waited a little over a week thinking they would be fixed. He called the office a few times for status. Each time, the receptionist (I believe her name was Olinda or Linda) would put him on hold and there were some instances where the receptionist "accidently" hung up and kept advising that they would call when the glasses were done. After two weeks my brother called the office and asked to speak with Dr. Wolf. The receptionist kept saying that he was busy. My brother eventually lost patience and I had to call the office myself and ask about what the cause of the delay was. I requested to speak with Dr. Wolf and he eventually called us back. He was surprised about the situation given the fact that it had already been over 3 weeks. He apologized and said the glasses may had been lost by the courier and that he would send the glasses to his private lab which should be done within a week. He also offered my brother free sunglasses because of the mishap. After over a week, we did not receive any phone call or status. We called again, and the receptionist said they would call when they were finished. Two weeks passed and I finally called back. They advised that the glasses were finished over a week ago and they were waiting to be picked up. Mind you, they never called and never left a VM. Overall, our experience at this office was not so great. Olinda at the front do not seem to strive for great customer service. She was not helpful at all and we had to speak to the doctor to figure out what the status was on the glasses. If the doctor needs to get involved, then it shows how unorganized the front desk is especially if they don't even know what is going on with their patience glasses. read more

I've been going here since I was about 7 years old when I first moved here in the early 90s and now my son goes here too. Dr Wolf has a great bedside manner and is very easy to talk to, willing to explain things and go into detail as well as talk about new procedures and advancements in optometry without trying to upsell and gives honest opinions on such matters. Never feel rushed and have the utmost confidence that you are well taken care of here. Even helps me pick out frames that compliment and fit my giant noggin and round face. read more

I've been going to Dr Wolfe since my kids were little. They are now young adults. The receptionist is very rude, short in conversation, not helpful, pushy and more. Dr Wolfe himself is amazing. He goes above and beyond and does a wonderful job with your eye check. If only he gets rid of his awful help. They are running his customers away. I was very upset after calling your office this afternoon 4/17/17, and after speaking to one of your employees named Olinda the receptionist. I called in to get my eyes checked , which I have been having problems with my vision recently and wanted to go in for a checkup. I then received the rudest service from Olinda asking me if I have health insurance not VSP. She stated that I probably have allergies that I should go see my medical Dr. She kept insisting that I could not go in to the office until September 2017. I was not aware that she should be giving out medical advice as she is not a healthcare Dr. at your office. I was very surprised to hear she still has this same bad attitude over the phone with your clients. She is the face of your business and when people walk into your office she should be friendly on and off the phones not rude and condescending. I have been going to your optometrist office for years now with my entire family. Sadly I will no longer be going to your office with this awful person working for you. You are such a good Dr. very friendly and very professional. I don't understand why you continue to have this individual so unprofessional , so unfriendly , she is the rudest person working on the phones and greeting all your clients into your office. I have never made a complaint to you but this has been going on for a long time. Her rudeness over the phones and in person should end she is making your office look bad. Let me start off my saying Dr. Wolf is fantastic. He is the most wonderful optometrist and I am lucky to have stumbled upon him. However every time I need an appointment, I seem to always get frustrated by his receptionist Julie. I don't know what her problem is, but she is never pleasant. Last time I was in, she wasn't able to fax my prescription in to my pharmacy, and this time while trying to set up an appointment, she left me on hold for seven minutes and then hung up on me before even helping me. When I called back and set up an appointment, she again hung up on me before I was able to ask her when she would be able to get back to me regarding a question for the doctor. I work in a doctor's office and I would never just hang up on someone who is on hold, the certain problems I experience here are ridiculous. I completely understand situations more than most people however I always am put off by Julie for some reason or another, which is leaving me to think I should search for another optometrist. I called yesterday to Dr. Wolfe's office and the front desk Receptionist who answered was very rude. I asked for her name and she rudely answered its Olinda not Linda. I simply asked for a little bit of information about the Doctor and her response was rude and inappropriate. She also gave me a wrong email address and a bad fax number! Lying in the workplace is very inappropriate behavior. I've heard very good reviews about Doctor Wolfe but his receptionist makes his office look really bad. She needs better customer service skills and be kind to others on the phone and in person. Will be looking for a different Optometrist. I've been a patient for many many years, as well as my whole family also! The office is nice and always clean! Julie is the Doctors helper, she is amazing, very nice, friendly and has great work ethics. Now, the horrible part is arriving to the front desk, the secretary in the front I believe her name is Olinda or something like that, She is absolutely rude, inpatient and doesn't want to get out of her chair, while sitting in the lobby she's always screaming "JULIE" for everything! She makes my visit extremely unpleasant! If I'm not mistaken I think she used to fork for the DMV and has forgotten or has not grasped that she is no longer working there and works in an optometrists office. Before she was hired the environment was smooth and felt very welcome! I can't stand that lady and everything I leave there I leave in a bad mood! She's not efficient with information in regards to insurance coverage or is too damn lazy to look into it! i went to woof & wold last year i needed glasses say dr levy good doctor now for the RIP OFF even with insurance my cost came to $300.00 the girls told me my biggest cost was the frames since they were somewhat frameless i got the transition wich did not get dard in the sun so i wear these for a year not getting what i paid for year later time for new glasses say dr levy again very good and very nice dr after the dr was done i needed new glasses sat me down with the girl to order my new glasses after she looked in a book and then on the computer she says to me you cost is $300.00 i said no way im using the same frames that the told me cost so much that were somewhat frameless dr levy came out look thing over and got the price down to around $250.00 the girl told me that to get the transition that will get dark cost more da i paid extra for transition the first time and they did not get dark like sunglasses and now wants me to pay extra for transition that will get dark in the sun wich is way people would buy transition so pay extra for glases for transition or pay even more for transition that will get dark in sunlite wich i thought thats what transition does so if you want a good dr go see dr levy if you want to buy your glasses there good luck getting what you think you are paying for or pay extra to get what you paid extra for and hope you get the extra because if you dont get it you wont be taken care of for the first pair you get to wear for a year and do not do what transition suppose to do i feel i got totaly RIPPED OFF so if you go take lots of money or a credit card with alot of open credit and maybe you will be happy with your glasses MAYBE read more
