SUMMARY: If you're looking for a Primary Care Physician in Chicago, you really can't do better than…read moreDr. Reyes. TLDR: Yelp says that 5 stars means, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" and in this case, I could not agree more. The office itself is great. The staff are nice and seem pretty organized, and I book my appointments online without issue. I am also usually able to get a spot within a reasonable period of time (not 6-8 weeks out like so many Chicago doctors). However, the real reason for the 5th star is Dr. Reyes. Dr. Reyes has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen. She actually takes the time to listen to your symptoms, concerns, and history. Dr. Reyes also seems to genuinely care about my health and well-being as much as I do, acting sympathetic toward even seemingly minor complaints. Miraculously, she is able to give this much attention to her patients and STILL her office runs on time. I don't know how she does it--I've never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. I first saw Dr. Reyes in January 2014 when she was with the Advocate group. I was disappointed when I called later for another appointment and they told me she was no longer there. The staff had no information on where she was practicing or how to contact. I was forced to try other PCPs, and it was only when I needed a check-up in 2017 that I finally found Dr. Reyes again. I was thrilled and relieved (and clearly, my positive memories of her held up). If there were ever a doctor worth tracking down, it's Maria Reyes!

Not to mention she authentically walks the walk. When I had an insurance mixup and mistakingly visited without any insurance, the office billed me with a fair flat out of pocket rate for the careful time spent with me. As someone passionate about research and health and wellness, she restored my faith in the medical realm and has been a consistent ally along my health and healing journey.

I have been going to see Dr. Emily Lindner for about a year now. She was referred to me by family…read more Dr. Lindner is the by far the ABSOLUTE BEST doctor I have gone to see. Her office is cozy and calming, without the buzz of a reception desk. Cady, Dr. Lindner's therapy dog frequents the office, she is the sweetest. The one-on-one attention is wonderful and unmatched. From the time I sit down in her office I feel like she is engaged in everything I say and really hears me. She is thoughtful and kind. Dr. Lindner's education shines through when offering suggestions to my various issues. She is very insightful. When I leave her office I feel more educated about myself, and my issue(s). I leave with a plan to go forward. I can not say enough about Dr. Lindner and recommend her to everyone.

He is likable, knowledgeable and his caring for people shows at each appointment. I like his approach...and I like what he is doing for me. Thank you...for being who and what you are.

My former PCP had recently diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and I had started to feel some symptoms such as fatigue, etc. Instead of talking with me, Dr. Abbo started to talk at me and 1. said my former PCP shouldn't have started treatment even though I had symptoms even with sub clinical hypothyroidism and that since I had depression and anxiety, my symptoms were related to that. 2. When I expressed concern about potential weight gain (I had actually lost weight rather than gained it, it turned out), instead of just leaving it at "nope you actually lost weight not gained it", he offered to prescribe me water pills so I would feel less bloated (a diuretic). The icing on the cake? My numbers had increased since my last visit and even though it was only a little bit, Dr. Abbo completely dismissed my concern and refused to order additional blood test after the fact. He also attributed my symptoms to my pre existing mental health issues. I ended up going to another doctor two months later (I'm in grad school so it's hard for me to juggle everything), my tsh had substantially increased and my doctor was appalled that he had refused to order an additional test since I was having symptoms. I don't know if he judged me because I was a young woman with pre existing mental health conditions or he was in a bad mood but I have never before been treated like that. I don't like to leave bad reviews but this was an awful experience

I then made an appointment, not worried, because when I explained what happened with my boyfriend the receptionist assured me it would be $100 for an office visit AND told me she called my insurance to confirm. But guess what, I just got my bill and was charged $220 for an office visit. Over double the price! I will update my review with a higher rating if they fix the problem but as of right now I think it's untrustworthy office and don't recommend.

I appreciate her thoroughness and calm, kind demeanor. I never feel rushed when I have an appointment and most importantly, she listens to what's going on and we have dialogue. She's interested in treating the whole body, not just the symptom. Her after-care communication is great; although the office has an online system that they use for appointments and billing, etc. Dr. Bailey sends your results out by mail and makes herself available if you have any questions. I never feel like my problem is ridiculous or that I'm wrong to call about something. The office is close to bus lines and train lines. Plus, I like the fact that I see all sorts of people in the office coming in, it's a diverse area and that makes me feel more at ease and welcome.

I saw Dr. Cynthia Kay Rozier (I picked her based off of her 5 star reviews on ZocDoc) and she and her nurse are absolutely phenomenal! I haven't seen a doctor in years and wanted to start doing annual physicals plus I was recently diagnosed with anxiety. So I wanted someone who would spend a little time listening to me, because the anxiety symptoms make you think you're going crazy, and do some baseline health tests. I scheduled a "new patient" appointment, so maybe that's why she was able to spend so much time with me. But her nurse first spend about 10 minutes with me and then Dr. Rozier literally spent 45 minutes going over my history and doing basic tests and letting me talk about whatever issues I thought I may have (none as it turns out, thanks anxiety!). She proactively brought up sexual health, so like if you have a weird thingy on your hoohaa she's definitely not going to get judge-y on you. She's also on ZocDoc, so you can see her availability and book the appointment online. Only con is that the office is in a professional building attached to Weiss hospital and it feels like you are in a hospital...as opposed to just a neighborhood doctor's office. Though it doesn't smell like a hospital, thankfully. So if you really hate hospitals, I think she's still worth it. Also, first receptionist who handled my paperwork was as friendly as your average receptionist. But on the way out I wanted to make sure I didn't owe anything and the other receptionist was all "Sweetie you're fine, if you owe money we know how to find you." Loved her!
