Hours of calls to my insurer yielded no results. I searched for another doctor in my plan and called Dr. Berman. His assistant Laura walked me through the precise steps (what to say and to whom) with my insurer to be certain that my urgent care visit would be covered. She then helped me enroll with Dr. Berman as my PCP so he could make the referral. All went well on that occasion and ever since. Dr. Berman listens well and takes the time to get to know his patients. His advice has been invaluable. He is wise as well as smart, is very responsive, and follows up with patients to be sure they are doing well. He even directed me to what has become my favorite hiking trail! If you want a doctor who cares about keeping you healthy instead of just treating symptoms look no farther. Dr. Berman is the best!

However, she is scattered and disorganized to the point to where I became concerned that her carelessness could be harmful. During my first appointment, Dr. Jones asked me to write down a list of my current medications, and then asked that I highlight what needed to be refilled, and requested that I write down what medications I've had bad reactions to. I carefully listed each medication into the correct category, we discussed the list, and she agreed to refill what was under the "refill" section. When I got to the pharmacy to pick up the prescriptions, I saw that Dr. Jones had called in prescriptions for the medication that I'd had bad reactions to, and refilled medication that I did not need refilled; which of course my insurance didn't cover. She had mixed up the lists, and what is worse is that she insisted that it was the pharmacy's mistake. On another occasion, she wrote me a prescription for a specific ailment that I was suffering from, and when I came for my follow up appointment, she read from her notes that she had put me on a completely different medication for an ailment that I have never had in my life. When I explained that her information was incorrect, she insisted that I was mistaken and my memory was bad. Perhaps I caught Dr. Jones during a difficult time period as she had just moved offices, but good organization is important in medicine, and I hope that she has improved her practice.

Iin the last few years I began seeing a Doctor who was a young studious person. I thought this Dr. was great for a few years. I hada small stroke last February and this Doctor for all practical purpose with me disappeared. I guess it was too much to expect that the Doctor would be supportive to any thing more then the in office physicals I was going there for three or four times a year. Life is strange, especially being ill. A few of my past Drs. Would have been more ethical. Make sure if you go there you are sure that your Doctor can work with you and your situation.

The billing clerk didn't understand why I was being transferred and put me on hold to talk to the receptionist. When she came back and found out what she needed to know to move forward I asked her if she could let the receptionist know It was okay and she said - "I can transfer you back to her if you'd like" I felt that no one that I talked to was eager for business and told her so, she replied simply "I'm sorry you feel that way". The nurse came and took us to our room at 2:20. The others had came and gone. Take it we had the first appt after lunch yet we were still waiting for these others to be seen to get to the point the nurse was extremely rude and down right snotty. I had experienced her attitude before but this time it was blatantly rude. She kept coming in and saying we don't know when the dr can see you cause the internet is down. I asked her if she would like me to call the lab myself and get the results faxed over since that is what we were waiting on. She kept leaving the room and slamming the door. Each time we saw others before us leaving. She said at least twice I don't know what you want. We just wanted to see the dr. This Filipino nurse who refused to give us her name should hand in her nursing license. Yet the dr is amazing. Would be difficult to give him up so we just suffer with this nurse.
