After being told that my 5 year old would need treatment that would require him to be sedated and that the cost of that would not be covered by my insurance, I went and got a second opinion. I was referred to Dr. Bigley by a few very satisfied patients so I decided to give him a try, and not only was Dr. Bigley able to do the treatment without sedation he managed to do it all without my son even having a hint that he was getting numbing medication. I was out of town and had a tooth ache that was excruciating. I tried to get into the office to be seen as a new patient but they were not able to accommodate me even after I had tried to explain the pain . Two months prior my mom had the same problem with the staff not being able to help her with an urgent apt. And she remained in pain for over 5 days The Dr. apologized for his staff, then this happened . I don't trust that my family in the future will be assisted with any urgent issues . I would give Dr. Bigley & Julie 5 stars, but my interaction with Hilda has me return to yelp and give them 1 star. I love Dr. Bigley & Julie! I'm also a UCLA alumni so I am loyal to Dr. Bigley. He has helped me & my son many times with teeth work. One day, I scheduled an appointment for teeth cleaning. I had dental insurance at the time, but it wasn't accepted here. I wanted to go to Dr. Bigley's office because that's how much I love him. Julie was the dental hygienist who helped me. She's awesome and thorough during my cleaning. During my visit, I informed Julie that I was paying cash since my insurance is not accepted here. Julie looked inside my mouth and suggested an X-ray and teeth cleaning. She gave me a quote before the services were performed that included the X-ray and teeth cleaning. I confirmed that it included too and bottom. She said yes. After cleaning the top, she asked if I can schedule another visit to clean the bottom. I confirmed with Julie that I will not be charged when I return to clean the bottom. I received a bill from Dr. Bigley & called the office to make the payment & schedule another visit to clean my bottom teeth. Hilda, the receptionist, answered the phone. I went over the bill with her and requested to schedule an appointment to clean my bottom teeth. I asked her if it's free since my bill already included it. I like to confirm and not be surprised with extra fees. Hilda said no. I was shocked. This is when the problem started. Hilda was very rude and has no customer service. I told her that Julie told me that my teeth cleaning fee included top and bottom, and to simply schedule another appointment to come back and get it done. Hilda said that Julie has been working here for 15 years and would never do that. I was shocked. I have been coming here for 5 years and brought my son and referred my family and friends. I have never been rude or had an outstanding bill. I trusted these people. I bring my son here even though his insurance is no longer accepted here and choose to pay cash just for us to see Dr. Bigley. That's how much we love him. Never did Hilda say she was going to talk to anyone about this. I asked to speak to manager and she said there is no one above her. I told her that I was going to write a yelp review about her customer service. BBB and the dental association will be gearing from me. Hilda said that I have to pay the bill and there's nothing to resolve. I don't mind paying for the bill as long as it included cleaning my bottom teeth as I was promised. Why would I lie and make things up? I've been coming here for 5 years and refer family and friends here. I even had my son go to the orthodontist that Dr. Bigley referred. I need this matter solved and Hilda was not helpful. She calls me weekly and threatens to send my bill to collection, without ever trying to resolve this matter or escalating it. She yelled and screamed at me over the phone. To her, I'm just a number, not a loyal customer. It hurts me because I love bringing my son here & I love Dr. Bigley & Julie. Hilda told me to never come back and threatened me saying our phone conversation was recorded... 10 minutes later. She had the nerve to ask who my son was like she was going to write a bad note on his chart or something. I told her that I didn't have to give her his name. She said there's no one linked to my account. Then she chuckled and said, "O, it's (my son's name)." This lady is very unprofessional, threatening, intimidating, and better not do anything to my son. I was so upset that she had the nerve to tell me that my son will never be returning here again. My husband called the office and asked if there was an office manager, if there's a problem to be escalated. Hilda answered the phone and said there is no office manager. The only person above her is the dentist. He asked what would be the best way to contact him and she said by phone, but he's busy right now. She asked what my husband's problem was concerning and he can't talk to the dentist until he tells her. The absolute best! I've been going to Dr. Bigley for 20 years and now I take my 7 year old daughters too see him too. He's always been nice but seeing him interact with my daughter today I could see what a truly kind man he is. The office staff is very friendly and the office is clean and up to date! Dr. Bigley is phenomenal! I have always had a huge phobia when it came to dentists (due to a terrible experience when I was younger) but love this office. Dr Bigley is so sweet and really takes his time to explain and talk you through any work he needs to do. I never feel like he is rushed or irritated, and I ask a lot of questions! If you have any fear I recommend this off 100 times over. Occasionally when Dr. Bigley is unavailable I have seen other dentists and they're all amazing! read more
