Not the best doctor to go to if you need a painless prescription refill process. There have been…read moremany disconnects between the pharmacy I use and their office, and they require that prescriptions be called in by the patient through the pharmacy which in my experience usually takes about a week. I was in the office on Tuesday and the doctor could have just filled my prescriptions then since I let him know I was out. Now it's Friday and I'm still waiting on them to approve the prescriptions that I've had to call my pharmacy about twice this week. It seems like they try to make the process easy for the doctor and their office staff but it puts all the stress and agony of dealing with getting prescriptions filled on the patients and pharmacists who are not used to this unusual process.

Nonas was the first doctor to take a thorough look at my problem, and was the first to diagnose and treat me correctly in my 10+ year search for the root of the cause. Speaking with Nonas, I felt that a doctor was truly listening to me for the first time in my entire life. He has a comprehensive, efficient, "let's really help you" approach, and he is compassionate towards his patients. Everyone at the desk and the nurses on staff are equally a pleasure to work with, and I never have a problem getting prescriptions filled on time. If I have even the smallest question that needs answering, I call the office and I always get a call back within the hour (from a real human being) who has a helpful answer, never a dismissing or condescending remark. I cannot say enough good things about this practice and I hope that more patients with allergy problems will seek out help from this amazing source.

Mine started blossoming 3 days after I came down with the flu. It can happen from as little as scratching your skin, causing microincisions. It's not a fun thought to think about. And I can tell you, it can be excruciatingly painful. Dr. Ben Young is the head of the DIDC. He (along with Ken Greenberg, another PhD), provide top notch care of people in the Denver area dealing with infectious diseases. Dr, Young is Assistant Clinical Professor at CU's School of Medicine, and can sometimes be found abroad as well, sharing his expertise when he educates HIV providers in Russia, the Ukraine, and Eastern Europe. But on top of all that, he's friendly, he'll spend extra time with you conversing on the particulars of your issue, and most of all -- he's probably the most laidback doctor you'll ever meet -- his "cool factor" is way up the charts. I wanna do tequila slammers with this guy, that's how cool he is. (I think he agreed to it when I last visited him and got the "all clear" sign...thank God that nightmare is over...) And he removed a surgically-implanted IV line that was in my arm (long story) by telling me to take a deep breath and hum...and he pulled it right out of my arm like fishing line. I boggled at that!! If you have a low-grade fever for a long time, or feel exhausted continually, or have -- ha ha -- flu symptoms that *just don't add up to FLU* (like I did!), make an appointment here and see one of the fine physicians.
