Artur and Malcolm were on time, professional and offered great customer service. My experience was good from the scheduling, to the confirmation, as well as the notification that the team was on their way. Artur and Malcolm were courteous and respectful of my home. They were able to track down the electrical issue and fix it, while explaining what the problem was in laymens terms. They were not rushed and I felt comfortable to have them in my home. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an electrician. read more

Eli from Thomas Edison Electric provided prompt, professional and courteous service at our home. We had power run with an outdoor waterproof outlet to a location for a newly installed motorized awning, a different outlet cover replaced and a new solar powered pole light fixture installed. BEWARE! This company is not in the electrical repair business, they are in the "charge you $95 for an appointment" business. When you call, you will not speak to an electrician or an employee, but an answering service. The answering service will try to book you for an appointment immediately, without answering any of your questions. Unlike other electrical companies I called, Thomas Edison Electric refuses to provide itemized quotes or estimates over the phone. All they want to do is get you to commit to that appointment, which they inform you at the very end will incur a charge of $95. They also state they demand payment in full immediately after service is completed. How can you know how much you have to pay if they won't give you an estimate before they come out? Because they know that the old women and first-time homeowners they prey on will be cornered in their own homes, too desperate in their time of need to ask them to leave. Why can both the big and the little guys provide estimates and quotes without issue, but Thomas Edison cannot? I already had two quotes from other companies, and was looking for a third to make my decision. Well I have made my decision, Thomas Edison Electric is here to RIP YOU OFF! read more

I don't go out of my way to write a bad review unless the service was absolutely horrible. In this…read morecase, Jim the owner was exceptionally rude and actually refused to sell me product. I came in to inquire about having some PVC conduit delivered for my business. I was told by the guy at the counter that there was currently a shortage due to COVID and he'd have to check to see if he could sell me how much I was asking for (a couple thousand feet, which Is typical for what we use in a week). When he returned after checking with Jim in the back, he apologized and told me that he couldn't sell me ANY conduit. I asked why he couldn't sell me ANY at all and he told me that Jim told him that he has to save it all for his "good customers". Meanwhile, I was parked in front of pallets of PVC conduit out front in parking the lot. So, I asked to speak to Jim directly, figuring perhaps I could convince him to at least sell me some to get me by. He came up front and was very arrogant with me right off the bat, as if I had the nerve to even question him about it. Jim told me that he wasn't going to sell to me because "it's a commodity" and he has to "save it for his 'GOOD' customers". Jim then advised me that he was "refusing my order" and then he simply walked away from me and returned to the back room. It seems pretty obvious to me now why they keep Jim in the back since he doesn't know how to deal with customers or be professional at all. Also, he had signs on the door requiring anyone entering to wear a mask, meanwhile he and his staff inside were NOT. My recommendation is to go to Billows Electric Supply for your needs, as I will continue to do for now on. They treat ALL of their customers like 'GOOD' customers.

I prefer mom and pop shops to chain stores. Sometimes it's a bit busy in there, but you do get very personalized attention. I took 2 lamps to be repaired there and they charged me only $20 apiece. I also took a chandelier to have some work done and get cleaned up, and they did a beautiful job at a very fair price. It was far less than I expected. I needed a light for a powder room and was trying to decide on a couple. They took down the display models, wired them so I could plug them into an outlet, and let me take them home to check them out in my bathroom. They didn't charge me anything to do so! It's a good thing I did take them home, because the one I thought I preferred would nit work out there. So it was good I had the back up. That one also happened to be on sale, and I got a much better price than I expected. I bought a ceiling fan as well. Upon installing it, the motor wasn't working properly. The store ordered another to replace it. Again, they were very helpful and offered to replace it immediately.

I've never had an occasion to be in one, however, until I recently picked up some cool vintage lamps at auction that needed re-wiring and shades. After checking out Yelp and inquiring with friends, I was pointed to Frazier Home Lighting, so I loaded the lamps up and off we went. The shop is located on a busy section of Lancaster Avenue, in a sort of industrial/mercantile area. They have a parking lot with plenty of spaces, and multiple doors you can go in, and it doesn't seem to matter too much which one you use. I was greeted quickly by Janice, and explained to her what I was looking for. The lamps, each weighing about 20 pounds, were still in my car and she quickly told me to pull up right next to a door and sent one of her employees to bring the lamps in for me. She asked what color my table was so we could choose wire color (dark brown), asked if I had the "globes" - what I had was what I brought so I said no - and told me to come back in a week. Okey dokey. So a week later I go in. They have my lamps, they have one 'globe' which turns out to be a glass piece that encircles the bulb. I had no idea this was even part of the lamp, they are an unusual make and they don't come to auction often. They showed me how the globe fits and they also had the correct size bulb, as again, these are older and the socket is different. Then they went with me over to shades and worked with me to find a shade I liked - even offering to have me take some shades home to see how I liked them. I found one I liked and they loaded me up. Paid, no problem, one globe is on order, they will call me when it's ready. I'm SO glad I didn't just try to go get a rewiring kit as friends suggested. I would never have known about the missing piece, and it makes a difference in how the lamps distribute light. So thank you Home Lighting for your expertise and excellent service. Definitely worth the trip to Frazer and the cost to have these handled professionally.

Thomas Edison Electric was there for us when we needed them. Our oven blew out in a fairly spectacular fashion and, while we purchased a new oven, we really didn't want to risk putting a new appliance into an old outlet. It was critical that a licensed electrician test our outlet, but we couldn't get anyone to call us back the day after Thanksgiving. Except the good folks at Thomas Edison Electric. After our initial phone call to the service center, we were immediately contacted, an appointment was scheduled, and a technician was sent out at the appointed time. Our electrician even made a special trip out to a hardware store to replace the cord that was incorrectly sent with our oven. He'd had a long busy day, but went the extra mile to get the job done safely. That's good customer service. read more
