I wish I could give Dr. Booth and his staff 10 stars. When I first got into law enforcement in…read moreRaleigh during the late 80's. Dr. Booth put a gold crown in my mouth. Today, it's as if he did it yesterday. After he retired briefly, I was forced to use another Dentistry(a total disaster). Now that he is back, I'm back and I brought my wife on board after a bad experience with another Dentist. On 02/12/2020, my wife left Dr. Booth office and could not stop smiling because of his service. Thank you Dr. Booth and you well trained Professional Staff for you many years of service. You and your staff is AWESOME! If you need quality dentistry service, I highly recommend you call Dr. Booth today. Officer Proctor

Dr. Booth is probably the best dentist i have ever been to in all my 40 years (granted i dont…read moreremember the first 10). Honestly!! I feel like i just took a 101 class in dentistry. He examines your face, jaw, glands, not just your teeth. A lot of symptoms we may suffer from or have reoccuring issues with can stem from a totally different part of your body, as most should know. Getting straight to the point, Dr. Booth is the truth!!! His methods show care and passion for what he does. In just 2 visits i am never going to another dentist. And if he for some reason EVER decides to retire for good, well....i'll be knocking on his door. Maybe i'll become his landscaper or handyman so he's stuck with me...HMMmmmm. Let me not forget his staff either. The ladies he has on his staff are a treat to encounter. Great to converse with but they get right down to buisness when the time comes and they are prepared and ready, not fumbling around or unsure where something is (like some of my other encounters elsewhere). Oh, MAJOR factor for me. I have only had 2 cavities up till now and both times (2 previous and seperate dentists) i explained my tolerance to pain medicine and/or numbing agents. BOTH times my words were ignored and after one injection they began drilling at which point i shot from the chair like a magic carpet!! So, this led to having to wait for 2 more injections before work could finally start. Well, i mentioned this to Dr. Booth, and in ONE sitting, he was able to numb the entire area and take care of my tooth like it was nothing!!!!! His handling and skills are 5 Stars!!! BIG 2 thumbs up to Dr. Booth and all of his staff

I went to the Wainright & Wassel dental office on May 8, 2024 in hopes of having tooth 31…read morerecemented and tooth 5 evaluated for a crown. Three years ago Dr. Mark Wainright had recemented tooth 31 and in 2019 remade a crown for tooth 4.  Since I had had problems with both these teeth, I asked if I could have a price break for the upcoming work. I had done a Google search on crowns and was told they should last 3-5 years.  The crown on tooth 4 was a total waste of my money since it did not close the gap between my 3 & 4 teeth as I was told it would do.  Therefore I believed I had a legitimate cause to ask for a price break. I was seeing Dr. Matthew Wassel since Dr. Wainright had a long wait schedule. Instead of being willing to do my work, I was told that not only could they not recement tooth 31, but that I would also need a whole new crown due to some problem that did not make any sense to me.  The crown on 31 did not have a problem before and it was recemented.  I thought this was absurd and told them so.   For tooth 5, I was told I needed to have an X-ray.  When I said they had just done X-rays five months ago, I was then told they would need  pictures.  I disagreed with both and PLAINLY stated I was not paying for either.  I was then told they would need pictures and I agreed with the stipulation that it would be FREE!  I saw no need for pictures for the evaluation.  I had a mirror if I wanted to see the tooth and pictures were of no use to the dental office for evaluation purposes. I was then told they could place tooth 31, but with only temporary cement.  I told them this idea was insane.   Why would I want the tooth cemented on temporarily to then have to go to another dentist office and have them remove the crown to do it permanently? I left the office and went to see Dr. Christopher Powell later the same day, May 8, 2024 and he recemented the tooth permanently with no questions. There is probably the question as to why I did not complain about the crown on tooth 4 back when it happened?  Tooth 4 is a dental implant.  Doing more work on it could create even more problems.  I was trying to bend over backwards to be a "Nice Guy" in hopes I could stay in good relations with the dentist. My complaints to the dental board are: 1. Dr. Wainright told me he could close the gap between teeth 3 & 4 with a new crown and it did not. 2. Dr. Wassel refused to hear me, billing me for photos that were totally useless. 3. Dr. Wassel refused to hear my issues and instead tried to cover it up by stating that tooth 31 had a problem and needed to be remade. 4.  Dr. Wassel refused to hear my issues, refused to consider my complaints and instead penalized me with two behavior management charges.

The pain started that evening went v. quickly to extreme pain and extreme swelling /numbness/redness/heat/throbbing etc. My face looked as if it had a golf ball in my mouth, by day 7. I called every day for the next week for him to look at it, yet never had an appt. I had been told to call immediately if I should have any swelling or pain( have never had any with other root canals-this was extreme). I filed a complaint with the NC Dental Board. After many months of deliberation they came to the conclusion that he had done nothing wrong! I had lost 2 teeth directly from the neglect and massive infection, and now needed implants. Refusing care to a patient with all the signs of a massive infection and doing NOTHING is OK with the NCDB??? Had recently moved from IN, and when I came still had all my own teeth. I was then told on leaving to pay the full amount v. the 2 x installments that Meredith and I had agreed upon. He now had a signed bill for a full root canal, which he had not done. When I tried to get my money back from my credit card company, he refused b/c on day 7 I went elsewhere (and was immediately referred to an oral surgeon for extraction) . My payment was refunded , but after learning of this, Dr.Dalzell then told them he had done a full root canal, they returned the money to him. 1 of many lies to come. He then told the NC DB I had been given 3 appts, and refused them all-as if I would have done that after calling every day to get an appt!!!! His website claims to have daily emergency time-not so! My teeth have been wrecked, and I have 20K in bills, ongoing. The lies Dr.Dalzell has told are outrageous yet the dental board still side with the dentist, and i their wisdom decided that losing 2 teeth ( the next one to it also needed extracting, as the infection spread) was a case of 'he said: she said'!!!! The CEO of the NCDB then investigated and sent a letter to me saying that what happened was actually nothing I had ever mentioned in my original complaint !!!!!! Regardless of what caused the massive infection, it needed treating that next day and then I might have only needed the root canal on an abscessed tooth that I went to him for in the first place!!!!! The fact that the board will NOT address is that WHATEVER caused the pain starting the evening of that first visit needed treating ASAP to avoid a potentially fatal infection!!!!!! I have NEVER in 6 plus decades on this planet come across ANY healthcare professional who refuses to treat a patient , KNOWING daily of an EVER WORSENING situation and gets away with it because the dental board are failing in their mission to protect the people of NC from impaired dental professionals! I am beyond disgusted and if anyone local knows of a good dental malpractice lawyer or expert witness who will stand against a colleague who is guilty of malpractice, please reply. Here. Thank-you!

Went to get a root canal which also had an abscess. Took 2 hrs to even get entry to the canals then…read moretold me I had to come back which was 11 days later. By that evening, the pain started. Called in the morning and was told b/c of a med. I was taking, he couldn't prescribe painkillers. The only option was to actually finish the root canal for which I had been charged, but he had no time! The pain /swelling/throbbing got worse and worse and the pain was intense,( 8-9/10) yet..... despite daily updates and photos of the swelling, still he would NOT finish the procedure. The roots had not even been cleaned out or the abscess drained. After 6 days of this intense pain and little sleep, and feeling ill. ( antibiotics which I had to beg him again to prescribe 48hrs after the appt., did no good-infection already too bad), I went elsewhere, and ended up losing the tooth as the infection had eaten thru' the tooth. I had to have it surgically removed under gen. anesthesia, and now need an implant. Refused to return the $1515 I paid for the simple root canal that was going to save my tooth, even tho' he had done nothing but open up the canals( which were already infected, as he told me!) to cause a massive infection for which he claimed prescribing antibiotics would be 'unethical' !!!! As of now, I have $14,000 in billd to sort this mess out which could totally have been avoided had Dr.Dalzell finished the procedure before it became badly infected. Initially Meredith( owner/wife) told me I could payin 2 installments, but when I left, I was told to pay the full amount. It was coded and listed on my receipt that he had done the root canal and all procedures associated with it, including post-op x-rays( all part of the code he entered, but..... he hadn't ! ) I have had several prior root canals and even wisdom teeth extracted with NO swelling, and taking 1/2-1 hr at the very most. I only moved to NC in the summer, so just used a referral I was given from a local dentist. I have never encountered ANY such uncaring and negligent behavior. Dr.Dalzell's website is very misleading. 1) he refers to 'our practice'. He is the only dentist. 2) He claims he always sets aside time for emergencies, yet in 11 days I was NEVER offered a time in which he could clean out the canals/disinfect them/refill them and put a temporary crown on, DESPITE the fact that he knew of the pain and swelling( he was e-mailed photos)/knew of the fact that I was immune compromised, and the fact that I had every know symptom of an extreme serious infection-i.e. Huge amount of swelling/numbness around lip chin/cheek/throbbing/ redness/ heat and severe pain, yet..... he did. NOTHING! He had daily updates from me of the ever worsening situation and pain. He cared nothing for the severe infection, or my health ( have now required 4 rounds of ever increasing strength ), and couldn't even be bothered to call himself to see what was going on. Day 4 into this Meredith said I could come in and let him take a look at it.....BUT..... he had no time to treat it!!!! As I felt ill and lived 40 mins away she agreed I could send photos and I did. Still no action! I would not recommend that anyone go near this place. Dr.Dalzell is not board certified in Endodontics, as others in town are, and they have completed years of post DDS education on micro-endodontics. He claims he has 'a certificate' in endodontics. Where from I do not know.
