I spoke with Diana and followed up with an email. After 5 emails and 3 telephone calls, I finally received a call from Lisa regarding instructions. Their billing department first tried to tell us that our dental insurance was tied to our medical insurance. We told them that isn't true. They told us they had just spoken to our dental insurance. My wife then called our dental insurance and they informed us that wasn't true. My called the billing department back and they told her what our insurance said and they told my wife they didn't believe her. They finally called our dental insurance back and confirmed. Then on the day of surgery when my wife gets there, they inform her the procedure is $685 but that the insurance might not cover it and it might be $16000. My wife asked "Didn't get you a pre-authorization when you spoke to our insurance?" They said no and that they were going to try to bill our medical insurance first and if they didn't pay, then they would try our dental insurance. We told them we were not going to do the procedure with them unless they had a pre-authorization for insurance, they refused. They said it could take days or weeks to get the pre-authorization. We had scheduled this appointment over a month ago. Horrible, lazy and shady business practice on their part. A patient should not be going into to surgery without knowing if their insurance is going to cover the procedure and the total out-of-pocket cost. They should have gotten the pre-authorization weeks ago and if they needed us to do anything on our end, we should have been informed when we made the appointment. Needless to say, my wife walked out and she will not be having her procedure done with them.

At the end, I also ended up paying a few hundred less than what I was quoted because the tooth came right out.
