The successful surgery has given me the chance to still fulfill my dream of being a Mother, which is the greatest gift one could ever give. Another Doctor in Wisconsin attempted to perform a Myomectomy and failed, telling me I would need a Hysterectomy because of the size of my uterine fibroids and the location of the fibroids. This Doctor also told me it wasn't worth getting a second opinion because nobody in the world would be able to remove my massive fibroids and was confident I would need a Hysterectomy. These massive fibroids were not only causing me infertility issues, but causing me major problems and living with them was unbearable. This Doctor was proven WRONG the day I walked into Dr. Shashoua's office to get a second opinion. Dr. Shashoua is brilliant and a gifted surgeon who performed what I was told was the IMPOSSIBLE. Numerous appointments were made with family Doctor, OBGYN, and asthma specialist. They started running CT scans, chest x-rays, PAP, internal scans, mammogram, breathing and blood test. The diagnosis for November was Fibroids, low iron, and node in right breast. By the time I took my mammogram in December the node had disappeared. My OBGYN reached me a pamphlet, told me to educate myself on all of the possible procedures and technology available. My OBGYN told me to research online for a specialist and choose someone that was on the cutting edge of technology and leading their field. Then provide him with a name and if everything checked out he would give me a referral. This would give me the best chance and future to have children. The items listed above are what led me to a great doctor. I would like to start by saying I travelled across the state of Illinois to see Doctor Abraham Shashoua. By the time I met Dr. Shashoua I was in severe pain and panic. Dr. Shashoua ran his own test and found 7 fibroids. Two were inside the uterus and the rest were on the outside. Dr. Shashoua was able to give me the reassurance that I needed. In 18 years Dr. Shashoua has only had to do 1 unscheduled hysterectomy. Dr…read more Weizner seems nice enough, but he perhaps implemented procedures during that check up that were unnecessary, because the next thing I know, my insurance is billing me $400 for what should have been a completely free check up. Mind you, I'm in perfect health and have no complications that would require non-routine procedures (like the ultrasound was not covered for example... I'm not pregnant.. I'm not totally sure what the ultrasound was for). When I contacted Dr. Weitzner's office, they contacted the BCBS office for me, but to no avail. I've had other check ups at other offices and never had a bill to pay at the end. When I explained my situation to his office (and spoke with him directly), they wouldn't budge on any of the billing or give me a break of any kind. Dr. Weitzner should be more up front when he is implementing procedures that aren't considered routine, so patients have an idea of what to expect in terms of billing.

Please do not visit this clinic. My friends and I have had multiple issues with the front desk…read morestaff being incredibly rude, and we ultimately all decided to switch providers. I had an issue with a misplaced IUD and was unable to get a follow-up appointment in a timely manner, so I had to go to another clinic to resolve the issue. I also experienced a billing problem because the front desk staff did not bill my insurance, resulting in a $500 charge for a routine visit. In addition, I was unable to get anyone to return my phone calls or messages despite months of trying to reach someone. This may be one of the worst OB-GYN offices in Chicago. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time coming here. I cannot imagine being pregnant and having to deal with their staff. If you are looking for a good provider, I recommend Dr. Perry in Lakeview.

She is attentive and patient and isn't aggressive as some doctors may be with course of action. Her staff is also meticulous and whenever I have any questions or concerns they call back by a reasonable amount of time. The only thing I wish was different was that Dr Wos have more availability. I scheduled for a yearly checkup today and the earliest availability was in February. Make sure to get your appointment in early!
