Dr. MacDuff USED to be my favorite dr. I recommended every woman I know to him but over the last…read moreseveral years he has fallen to my least favorite. Guess he is too busy to care about his patients anymore. Maybe he has more patients than he can handle and is trying to lose a few. Two years ago, I needed to see him but his appointments were 9 months out. I really wanted to only see him so I figured I could wait. 2 weeks before my appointment, his office left me a message that he needed to cancel and I should call for a new appointment. Whelp, they couldn't squeeze me in and made a new appointment for 9 months away. I sent a Mychart message telling him my problem and can he give me something until my appointment comes. No response at all. I sent a 2nd message and again, zero response. I tried one more time, a nurse responded. Said she would ask him and get back to me. No response. I should have quit him then but still liked him so I stayed. Now, today, I have a simple yes/no question since my scheduled (and soon to be canceled) appointment is still 6 months away. Messaged the office 3 weeks ago. Got an immediate response from the nurse... she will ask him and let me know. No response. A week later asked again. Again got the same response from the nurse and again, no response since. I am so very disappointed, he used to be top notch, now I tell every woman I know to see any doctor other than MacDuff. He is the Worst!

Biggie Smalls was the illest...and Dr. MacDuff is too…read more Part of the Elmhurst Clinic practice, Dr. MacDuff is fantastic. There are five doctors in this practice and he is easily our favorite. His bedside manner could not be improved upon, he answers all questions, takes as much time as you need, explains things in detail, and sets your mind at ease. Our visits with him feel as safe and loving as getting advice from your (mine, not yours) father. Crossing my fingers (and legs) that our baby is born the day Dr. MacDuff is the obstetrician on call at the hospital!

28 years, first pregnancy Weight Before Pregnancy: 130,…read moreWeight at 39 weeks: 188 Delivery on May 23, 2009 Dr. Gomez: The purpose of this review is to share the positive experience that I had in having Dr. Gomez as my attending physician. As an associate to my midwives, Dr. Gomez is part of a team that ensures healthy and safe delivery by acting as the physician responsible for any necessary Cesarean sections. Birth Plan Summary : Natural birth using the ABC (Alternate Birthing Center) at West Suburban Medical Center, Oak Park, IL. My birth partner (husband) and I attended a Bradley Method course prior to delivery with Suzanne Craig. Our intention was to maximize the Midwifery philosophy with little to no intervention using the water birth approach. The midwives as West Suburban Midwife Association attended to our medical screenings and were on-call for our delivery. Before my delivery, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Gomez where we discussed his role as an associate to the midwives and he answered all of my questions about c-sections, statistics, etc. My Delivery: During my labor, I experienced a failure to descend; when I would push, my baby's heartbeat dangerously slow down. During this ordeal, Dr. Gomez was called in by my on-call midwife on a Saturday morning. He was present and waiting to see if a section would be requested or deemed necessary. When it was determined that I could not deliver vaginally, Dr. Gomez ensured that a section was what I wanted. He did not rush the procedure; I had to request it. During the worst of my pain, as I was experiencing contractions every minute without the ability to push my baby past a certain point, I grabbed Dr. Gomez as begged him to help me. Despite my insistence Dr. Gomez took the steps to ensure that the procure was the right thing to do, at the right time, with proper permission. In other words, he was not in a rush to perform the c-section. I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Gomez's presence in my delivery. He ensured that the life of my baby was never jeopardized. Though the midwifery philosophy is my personal choice, the fundamental truth is that unpredictable variables intervene in child birth. Some of these circumstances are serious and threaten the life of the mother, baby, or both. Dr. Gomez's presence as part of the team at West Suburban Midwife Association is essential and his contribution significant. When a c-section is required Dr. Gomez is there for you with your best interest in mind, he is a respected and an exceptional surgeon known for his phenomenal work. The entire staff that I encountered at West Suburban Medical Center had nothing but admiration for his skill. When I went to have my staples removed, all of the midwives and nurses took turns looking at his work complimenting his precision and the location of the incision in that it was at a natural crease and discrete. Thanks to Dr. Gomez, I can now enjoy my life with my baby, Genivieve.

It really was only just to meet him so he isn't a stranger later on. He didn't take a pulse or look at charts or anything. I think they could have done this as a group and cut down on time and money. I'm glad Insurance was picking up the tab for this chat. In any event, Dr. Gomez is very nice and there is mutual appreciation and respect between him and the midwives. I'm comfortable with him, but I hope we're not in the circumstances to see him again.

I have to give Edward Health Center a great deal of credit, they do a wonderful job…read more All of my physicians are in this network. I've found it's just easier. I have a patient portal where all of my records are, I can pay my bills, I can schedule appointments- one stop shop. Much easier. I went to this location for a mammogram. It was a nice experience. The office was designed to be relaxing for patients. The staff is kind and friendly with each patient. The staff is also great at explaining what is happening, next steps, etc. this is important if you are getting tests run. There is a Starbucks and cafeteria built in - both are nicer than your standard hospital cafeterias. They seemed to build this place with the patient experience in mind.

My initial visit in August 2017 I saw Dr. Acharya for my yearly OBGYN check up and to obtain BC…read more Dr. Acharya took it upon himself to run additional tests that I didn't know wasn't part of the yearly check up. Couple weeks later I receive a $1,500+ bill. I was SHOCKED!!! For a yearly checkup and to get birth control is what I asked for. NOT for additional testing. Unfortunately I had to go back in October 2018 because my BC script wouldn't be filled without going back to the doctor for the yearly check up. I also had a HMO plan, so Dr. Acharya was my PCP. At this same time, I requested Dr. Acharya refer me to a specialist due to a health concern and he referred his colleague Dr. Afridi. The bill was over $850!!! Just for a yearly check up and refill of BC. UHC initially paid a portion and ended up reversing it - meaning insurance covered NOTHING due to whatever codes Dr. Acharya inserted. Nothing was diagnosed so I have no idea why they would code my check up as a diagnostic. Fast forward to one week later... I have my referral appointment with Dr. Afridi. She sat down with me and we spoke regarding my concerns. She recommended taking some blood so I went to the other room so they could draw blood. I waited for my results in the lobby and there were no signs of cancerous cells and I didn't book another appointment. Same situation as before, I was charged $1,618... insurance initially covered a portion, and after an audit due to the codes Dr. Afridi entered it was classified as a diagnostic meaning UHC insurance wouldn't cover ANY of the bill and reversed the payment UHC originally covered. How are my doctors visits classified as diagnostic when nothing was wrong? UHC reversed the payments on their end on May 16th and Edward Elmhurst sent me to collections the first week of June. Neither UHC or Edward Elmhurst had contacted or tried to communicate this matter to me. I will not be returning to this doctors office. This place is a scam recording whatever codes they want to collect money.
