The kindest people and a wonderful selection, especially for holiday decor! A great spot

First time coming in today. I love thrifting and supporting a good cause. However I was not greeted (which is fine I really don't care about that) as soon as I picked up an item one of the ladies working instantly turned around and starting whispering to the other volunteer clearly speaking about me. You can't greet me but you can whisper about me? I could hear the fist few words then she lowered her voice as I clearly caught her. They proceeded to not say anything to me the whole time I was in the store. On my way out I decided to take it upon myself to ask them about the store and the story behind it. It's a shame to have such rude people working in a store that is supposed to be for a good cause. Edit: as I read other low reviews I'm noticing a common factor. I myself am a woman of tan complexion with piercings and tattoos. Profiling and racism is very sad thing to experience and an even sadder thing to perpetuate. read more

This is a darling thrift store located in Coconut Grove run by the Plymouth's Women's Fellowship. Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove is my favorite historic church in Miami. This store has been in this location since it opened in 1957. Volunteers who run the store are able to offer items at a discount to those in need in the community as well as use the profits from the store to fund ministries. The store relies on donations which are accepted in Pilgrim House on the second Sunday of each month following the worship service. Items sold here include clothing, accessories, jewelry, children's toys, books, records, household items, collectibles, and antiques. Everything is in great condition and very reasonably priced. The store is too small to hold furniture so there are pictures of what they have for sale posted in the window. The only downside to visiting this store is there is no parking lot. I was able to find street parking not too far away from $1.50 for a half hour. When visiting Miami where free parking is very rare, it really saves time to have the parking apps already downloaded to your phone. read more

I found the This and That Shop by Google-mapping thrift stores in my area (yes, I had a mission). Despite its one lonely review, I decided to check it out and was pretty darn pleased. This and That is on Commodore Plaza nearish to Greenstreet and Lulu's Cafe, or Bombay Darbar if you're familiar with it. After parking in a nearby Pay-to-Park lot, we walked over and entered the little gem that's gone unnoticed to us many times. There is tons of women's clothing, but I found the little rack of half-price merch on the right rear to be most rewarding (i.e., nice, current styles in my size). I scooped up an Ann Taylor Loft skirt and two button-downs. My husband got an Abercrombie and Fitch button-down and a book he has been pining over for awhile. Our grand total was $20, and we were happy with that. Everything in the store is nice and clean! In addition to clothes, there were some pretty glass dishes (looked like a complete set) and some cute Halloween decor.The people who work in the store are very friendly and came by to check on me in the dressing room. I would definitely plan on checking This and That out again the next time I want to shop but don't want to spend much! read more

This is a small thrift shop in the heart of Coconut Grove. Most of the furniture they have is available for viewing by appointment at the church sponsoring the shop. But, if you need clothes for babies, children, women and men this is the place to come for really good quality mdse. They also have lovely "knicknacks," some sports equipment for kids, jewelry and some bedding. I stop by often because the stock changes almost daily. The volunteers are pleasant and helpful. This is a "go to" place. read more

I dropped into this little shop last Saturday morning, and I was very excited to find some pyrex glassware that belongs in the same set as some my grandma used to have. So fun! I think everyone's grandma had pyrex with the vegetable print on it (see photo). But all in all, this little thrift shop is clean and organized, and I got my dishes for $1.50 and $2, and they probably have another good 20 years left in them. Great thrift store in the Grove ran by volunteers. I love shopping here because all the proceeds benefit several charities.

Came here only once, but I remember it vividly. Was looking around for some clothes, and two elderly women tried to discreetly follow me around the store. When I asked if I could try something on. They said I had to hand them over my bag. I did it, but felt insulted. They thought I was there to steal. When I was going to pay, they said they only took cash. I pretended I was going to the ATM but didn't come back. I was 17 at the time. No garment is worth being treated that way. I don't give my money to racists. Needless to say, just go to Goodwill. It is cheaper, larger, and no one there will treat you like trash. read more

Quaint store with lovely volunteers! Great brands and decent prices! Lots of original pieces you won't find anywhere else! Cash only but it's tax free and all proceeds go towards a laundry list of LOCAL charities here in Miami! There's an ATM nearby if you need as well. My friends and I went here after brunch at GreenStreet and found beautiful one-of-kind dresses we took home with us! Also they have a red tag section with steals! One of my new favorite stores to check out, especially when on a medical student's budget. :) read more

When you are on an up-cycle mission then This & That is your local go-to. Clothes are fab here! I have found so many different styles and fun things to wear. Need random things for your kitchen and don't want to spend an arm & leg for them well swing by here and they might have the item you are looking for. The ladies are super cute who work in the shop. I only wish it was open at different hours to so I could go more often. read more

I stopped in here after lunch at Lokal on the corner. I had never heard or seen this little shop before & thought of heading to the Sale Rack when I spotted the sign. I am really glad I popped in. The tiny store is filled with really good stuff - a "Featured" rack had two really great suits from Ann Taylor & Armani - both for under $50. The clothes are organized by type and colors. The only downside is that it is CASH-ONLY. In this day and age of the smartphone, the square & PayPal, I think they should start accepting credit cards. read more

I live in the Grove and am a regular. Terrific stock, well organized. I've given three stars because: 1) Everything smells like cigarettes. The staff say the clothes are turned in that way, they are not smokers, but buy what you can wash; 2) Cash only; 3) The prices on clothing seem to have jumped (perhaps in line with rent hikes?). I am an older white woman and was also initially followed around until they got to know me, so no, it isn't racial profiling. The theft rate in the Grove is very high and they are being vigilant. read more

Great go to shop... You go just check out any steals. This is not the shop you go to for everything, BUT when you do find something... You strike gold... Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, and literally Gold. So, I give it 5 stars because when you do pop in and find something...it's beyond what they should be charging. read more

If you're a book lover, check out the back corner of the store for a never-ending supply of novels, fiction, biographies, even kids' books (not as many, but usually some goodies). I visited this small thrift store ,a few times but never had I experience what happen to be the other day. I walk in the store as it opened a 10:00 am and a elderly man and women was sitting behind the store counter. They spoke to me as I walked in and I spoke a good morning to them also. As I started to look through the women shirts , which were on your left of the store, I notified the elderly women going through the clothes rack near me. As I continue to look through the clothes she moved closer to me ,circling the rack. Then as I moved on the other side of the store the elderly man was right there. Now the store Has cameras from the front door to the back , with a large monitor at the front of the store. In this day and time, as an African American women I have had it with the profiling. I am not a thief and do not like being followed around stores. This store is not quaint, it has staff that are ancient in their views and briefs. I recommend either they change or no BLACKS SHOULD NEVER SPEND AN MONEY THERE. read more

The only reason this isn't a zero is because that's not available. We live in the grove, and while we are not regulars here, we have been several times over the past few years & have made multiple purchases. I have never really noticed the service as being particularly good or bad in the past. Today my husband and I are strolling around the grove, enjoying a day off work in honor of my birthday. I wanted to stop here Bc I like looking at Knick knacks & was in the mood to get a little something for fun. When we walked in, we politely asked if there was a bathroom available. The elderly woman at the front immediately said no & then commented in an extremely snarky way that restaurants have public restrooms. She & her counterpart proceeded to completely ignore us as we briefly perused the shelves & then left for greener pastures. I respect a retail spot not offering a public restroom. However, asking is not a crime, and common courtesy is a basic skill in the retail profession. A simple no would have sufficed. Also, you can lose business very quickly by making erroneous assumptions about customers. My husband may be covered in tattoos, but we live in this neighborhood. We have a decent amount of expendable income. We tend to prefer to spend it close to home when possible. Today we will most definitely be spending some of it in the Grove. But not at this store. Not today & not ever again in the future. read more
