A local writer recommended this brewery for me. I started with a flight. The beers were all pretty good, but nothing that blew me away initially. But the tour included two free beers, so I used one on something different. During the flight, my favorite was the upward spiral, which is their IPA. It's funny to think I never would drink an IPA even two years and now it's my go to during cold weather. So this place has a double hopped upward spiral. I tried it and I could not believe how good this beer was. It was drinkable like a pale ale but had the smoothness and boldness of a stout. I never drink stouts, but this was incredible. In fact, I used my second drink ticket on the same beer. The tour was very informative. I've been on a few brewery tours, so I'm pretty familiar with how beer is made. But what I really liked was the guide talked about the history of Milwaukee and he was able to discuss the intricacies of what made Third Space different from the many other breweries in Milwaukee. I found it interesting that the building had stayed empty for decades. In fact, it was an abandoned stamp factory before it became a brewery. I look forward to seeing Third Space grow. They have a huge selection of beers so you're bound to find something delicious. The patio is a good space. Happy we got to sit outside because the inside had a bit of a smell to it. I get it - brewery. The smell didn't smell beer-related though. But, that being said, not enough to drive me away from trying it out again. I visited Third Space Brewing today, 5/21/22. I visit craft breweries as a hobby and likely as a excuse to also visit nearby restaurants. Third Space is somewhat off the beaten path (or might be on a path that was beaten, beaten again like a dead horse, then zombified and beaten again until little remained). It might be fair to say that there was little traffic on the road when I arrived. Once I arrived I lucked out in finding parking in the lot close to the entrance. The establishment was busy and had a Peruvian food truck parked in its back lot next to the main entrance of the tap room. I got a flight including a variety of 4 including a schwarzbier, sour, wit and Pilsner. $15 for the flight. All were good; I tried to pick seasonal options over their year round brews. My favorite was probably the German Pilsner which had a very clean and solid hops profile that let you know it was a Pilsner. While drinking my flight I took advantage of the food truck and got a pork & sweet potato empanada that had a great paired sauce. I felt satisfied with both the beer and food available. Wi-Fi was solid even outside once connected. I got a free brewery sticker when I asked and the bartenders were friendly and efficient. They don't take cash at the bar in taproom. Really liking this place so far! I was at Sobelmans this morning drinking a really good beer chaser with my Bloody Mary so I asked the waiter what beer it was- turns out it was from a new brewery just down the street. So right after we ate we headed over here. They have a nice large taproom and outdoor space complete with yard games. There's currently 4 beers on tap and I'm really loving the pale ale. The owners are serving up the beer and are ready to chat about their brewery. This place is located just past the Amtrak station and is also right off the bike path, so check it out! read more

The gorgeous grey and lime color scheme is super noticeable from the street and directs people in the door around the back. The scheme carries over wonderfully inside - as a guy married to an interior designer, it's pretty easy to see they either knew exactly what they were doing or hired a company that did - this "Third Space" is awesome, back to front. It's my third time at Third Space, and every time, they've had food trucks outside which is excellent as they DO have a patio but DON'T serve food. The beer is pretty incredible which is why a middle-aged guy who was at City Lights previously taking notes on the beer in an actual notebook "followed me" over here, landing right when they opened, and presented them with a "Best New Brewery in Wisconsin" plaque from RateBeer. It all makes sense now... The only thing I don't like is that the tall, lacquered wood bar (that's devoid of stools) also lacks some sort of foot rest. Let me put a damn foot up! read more

The beer is great so far! The Happy place is my favorite out of the 2 I've tried so far (upward spiral was the other one). There's a fairly large space inside their brewery/tasting room, and even more seating out on their large patio area. There's some games set up outside to enjoy with your beers too. My son recommended that I had to check this place out if I was in Milwaukee. I'm glad I did. A very urban and industrial feel to both the outside and inside of the building. It is easy to drive by but once you drive into the parking lot, just follow the big arrow painted on the side of the building! As you drink fresh craft beer you can watch people filling kegs and trucks. Entertainment! Happy Happy DIPA was great! read more

If you enjoy a cold atmospheres and a not so cozy experience inside a warehouse and brewing facility. This is the place for you. I was not impressed with the flight because nothing was labeled. I had no idea what I was drinking and really only enjoyed two of the five I was given. Not knowing very much about what they had I asked the bartender to make something up based on some of my favorite things about beer. My husband was able to bring two of his back and actually get two different ones but still had no idea what he was even given. I will probably never go back to this place ever again. The beers are DYNAMITE. Definitely up there in my favorites of Milwaukee craft beer. The java blanca is stupid good (however, not a regular tap rotation which I think is a big misstep). There outdoor space is well and fine, they did a great job considering it's essentially in a former loading dock/parking lot area. Bag toss is a huge plus. Indoors is just fine as well. Huge area, plenty of space to roam, but almost too big.... Can't put my finger on it, but despite the large size, communal tables, and oftentimes packed house, it just feels.... empty. Indoor bag toss again, a plus. Adding some TV's or a giant projection screen would go a long way in giving patrons a distraction and liven up the place. Judging solely on their beer..... 5 out of 5. This is my FAVORITE brewery in Milwaukee. They sprung up out of nowhere it seemed and took the brewery scene by storm in our area. I have taken the brewery tour and loved it. I don't want to give too much away if you take the tour yourself. But it is reasonable, short and sweet, you get a souvenir glass and some beer samples. Aside from the brewery tour I have been there annually for my birthday since they opened to play indoor bags, other board games, and enjoy their beer. I have seen people host surprise birthday parties, work parties, etc. And all seem to be a major hit! They have a patio/the largest beer garden outside that is also a blast! You will often find a food truck hanging out in the parking lot for your ease of grabbing some grub while sipping your beer. Their motto of wanting it to be your third space stands true to how they treat you and how you feel when you visit. I highly recommend checking out this brewery if you are looking for a good one to visit in town. The beer is phenomenal (my favorite is the mocha java with happy place being a close second) but to be honest I haven't had one there I don't like. I hope you love it as much as I do! read more

Huge outside seating at Third Space unfortunately it being Milwaukke most of the year it remains empty. This place brews and makes it's own unique beer far superior Budweiser and Miller. The space is also OK, but the outdoor area is better than their indoor space. So many different varieties and types... all of which were great! One of the Third Space employees explained all of the beers and was very thorough and gave great descriptions. We visited here Saturday with our pug and chose it due to being dog friendly on the patio and relatively close to our hotel. The beers were enjoyable, but I have to say the That's Gold Kolsch was pretty flavorless (and it's one of my favorite varieties so it was disappointing). I did love the East Meets West, though! This place rocks! I came here for the first time two weekends ago and loved it -- I am already looking forward to going back! First, the beer is pretty legit. I got the lighter wheat beer and it was perfect (since I was already day drinking I did not want anything super heavy). The inside of the brewery was spacious and the staff members were attentive. Also, the beer was pretty affordable both by the glass and for a flight. Now the outside is where it gets awesome! They have life-size Jenga and a big area with plenty of seating to hangout and drink in on a nice night. There is not much of a view, but that didn't matter seeing that you can come with a big crowd and have a blast. In addition, their food is yummy! I got the cheese curds (straight out of the bag), a pretzel (the best), and a small pesto pizza. All three things were worth getting and although I split them with 4 other people, I was quite full. This place may seem a little out of the way during your night out in MKE, but I truly feel it is worth the quick Uber ride for some good beer and fun games. read more

This was a great stop on our self guided brewery tour in Milwaukee. We arrived after a hot baseball game, ready for some beer. We opted to start with a flight. We chose Happy Place, Upward Spiral, You've Said It All and Fest Bier. I think Upward Spiral was my favorite. I'm usually not a big fan of Oktoberfest beers, but Fest Bier was decent. Great brewery with great variety. This place has a number of different beers to try all made in house. They have your ordinary beers for people who are not too adventurous but also things that pack a punch. They've expanded their outdoor area to allow for a safer experience with Covid. Hosted a work event/happy hour here for staff and was very impressed - the beer was obviously amazing - did not get to try them all but staff members seemed to like everything they drank as did I. There is plenty of parking and the space inside is industrial but well done - highly recommend for work event or just grabbing a brew. read more

Amazing beer, cool space. Along with a couple of friends, I dropped in at Third Space last Saturday. It was *packed* but even with the ginormous crowd, I was able to belly-up to the bar and order a pint right away. +1 Kudos for great service. We found a place to perch and enjoy our drinks. I ordered a golden ale and it was exactly what I wanted. Tasty, not super hoppy, smooth and easy to drink. I killed the first pint in record time. +1 Kudos for a great brew. Time for round two. I started by grabbing a couple of tamales from a stand they had on the side. Then I ordered a farm house ale. Again, super tasty. Pretty great brewery with an awesome tasting room and a great outdoor space. Kid-friendly, dog-friendly with a laid-back atmosphere. We stayed outside for a few hours over the weekend on their patio - played bags, bought from the food truck, played some Jenga with the kids and tried some delicious brews. There's plenty of place to sit, stand and of course a few yard games which are always entertaining while you have a beer in your hand. Since it was only the two of us and the bartender, we ended up chatting with the bartender about the history of the building. Apparently, once upon a time, metal lunchboxes were manufactured in the same building that houses Third Space. read more

I was in Milwaukee for a bachelorette party, and we rented out the back room for the afternoon. The space was really cool, and the weather was flawless so we were able to lounge in the sun in the beer garden. The owners and employees were super helpful and easy going, and helped make our gathering extra special. Most importantly, the beer selection was on point. I love a good flight, and there wasn't any offering in my selection that I didn't enjoy. I particularly liked the Java Blanca because it looked unassuming but packed a rad coffee punch. I will definitely make the journey from Chicago again sometime soon! read more

Maybe I was there on an off night. I love the beer but the atmosphere left little to be desired and the staff was clearly frazzled and disorganized. Lots of children running around and very loud in general. No good place to stand inside and tables are for smaller groups of 2-4 people. Went to third space for their beer school class...which was great...included with the fee was a beer from the tap. Asked the bartender for a sample of one of the beers before choosing my full pour to which he said he couldn't because they didn't have any sample cups left. However I clearly saw the sample cups in the holder on the wall behind him. I picked a beer and moved on, but later I addressed the fact that they were indeed not out of sample cups so why was he not able to give me one. To which he said that it was up to the bartender's discretion and that he felt all the beers were good so "just pick one". Now i understand that we all have bad days, however that rubbed me the wrong way and truly kind of ruined the experience of my night. I frequent many craft breweries and love the fact that they make the experience so personable and understand that not every beer they make is for everyone...therefore offering samples before making someone commit to a full pour of something. I also have been to Third Space many times before and have not experienced any issues on this topic before so it really made me feel uncomfortable and not valued as a customer. read more

I just started drinking beer and this is an awesome place to go! The That's Gold, Golden Kolsh is my favorite. Andy, the owner is great and seems very passionate about this brewery.
