Drove to Bryan, Ohio for our birthdays to eat at Third Rail Saloon. We drove all the way there for their famous bloody marys, which they did not have, unfortunately. We tried calling and looking on their website, but we didn't see anything, and I don't think they have a phone. We still had some of their regular bloody marys made by the owner, which were delicious. The owner was very friendly, helpful, and made us feel at home. The fried bologna sandwich was one of the best I've ever eaten. The bologna was very thick, and the bread was on thick, toasted Texas toast. The place was empty, so it was cool to have the entire back area to ourselves. The establishment was very cool and unique. I love the setup. It had a 60s/70s vibe. The inside was very clean. There was a huge pool table, darts, and board games. I also loved the huge moose and buffalo heads on the wall. Third Rail Saloon also has an outdoor area that looks like it would be a lot of fun in the summer. This place is a little pricey, in my opinion. Also, they didn't give us a receipt, and after we came home, we looked at our online debit card receipt and found that we were charged for two shots that we weren't supposed to be charged for. Overall, I think this place is awesome, and I would love to go back and try more menu items. read more

We were a party of four and unfortunately no one liked their meal. It appears the food is cooked earlier in the day and kept in warmers until ordered. Warmers did not do an adequate job. Ribs were cold in the center. Grilled bologna was warm at best. They don't have mayonnaise. They serve chips instead of fries, since those would be hard to keep warm in a warmer. If you're looking for quality, hot food, this isn't the place. read more

The meats: fantastic. Get the sampler for sure, because everything is worth a try. The vibe is awesome, rustic, in an old train station. Lots of history here. Good beers on tap but also the classics. Lots of booze, some seems on the rare side as well. The folks working here were incredibly kind and accommodating. It's handicapped accessible, and the parking spot/path to the restaurant are well paved. 10/10 can't wait to not be full so I can come back. read more

This place is a MUST STOP if you're in this area. Between the food, the service and the atmosphere, it truly is amazing. The food is crazy good. They specialize in barbeque. I had the smoked wings and the ribs there and took home the brisket and the pulled pork. It was all fantastic. They have a large smoker on site and they know what they're doing! The manager (Johnny?) and the bartender were wonderful. Super helpful and kind as I was trying to figure out what to eat. They make a point to remember names and faces, which is really neat. The atmosphere is very cool! It's in a old mid 19th century train station, and is set up like a museum with artifacts and memorabilia. If you're a train enthusiast, it's a must see for that alone. It has a very cool bar area serving a wide array or beers and homemade mixed drinks. They have a 'back room' with additional seating, a pool table and TV's. From the welcoming owner and bartender, to the cool train station atmosphere (it's a real 100+ yr old building)the waaay better than expected food (Bison chili was top notch), delicious spicy bloody marys, and clean restroom. I very rarely am like a kid in a candy shop. I pulled into the parking lot and immediately knew I had made the right decision picking this restaurant for our stop. Third Rail Saloon is in an old renovated train depot (already amazing) and has a wonderful, rather large outdoor space with an outdoor bar shed. As I climbed the historic railroad tie stairs I thought to myself "HOW COOL IS THIS PLACE?!" Immediately after taking one step in the door I knew I was in love. I wish I lived closer than 3 hours away. There are spectacular buffalo mounts on the walls and the decor was absolutely incredible, perfect for their old railroad theme. Then is very western, industrial, historic, rustic and masculine (all the things I love). Drink menu was right up my alley. Margaritas. Bourbon. Mocktails. Something for everybody. The bbq and Mac n cheese... to die for. Service was impeccable. Bartender and Owner had great recommendations and were so friendly in letting us in on all of Bryan's tourist offerings.
