After finishing my meal at a restaurant we decided to see what stores were around Apple Blossom Mall area and came upon this store. The parking lot is big so no issue there and the inside was very clean with many rows of books. They also sell games and toys along side the books. Also , there is a coffee shop inside if you like. I wasn't able to find a book that caught by interest but I would recommend anyone to come in and take a look around.

So, when we were wandering in Old Town Winchester the other day and there was a winter scene in the window of this store, I knew we were going in. The front room was full of cards and gifts. One section had Christmas items on clearance such as ornaments, napkins, teapots and plates. Right in back of that were similar items for every holiday you can imagine. In the second room there were lots of stuffed animals, infant toys and toddler items. My son was fascinated by a rattle that had a grip on one end and a plush baseball on the other. In the back room was the train stuff. Tiny trains, cabooses, tracks, model homes and miniature trees. There were also books on trains as well as t-shirts and hats. After this trip, we've decided to build a model train set in our house once our kid is old enough!

I went to pay for it and she said, "Middlesex is my favorite book." She also said that I could stay for longer, considering the weather. I had to go, though, since I had a meeting at El Centro (3 out of 5 stars), but I would have stayed longer. Who knows--maybe she and I would have a family, right now, had I stayed. But yeah. Now I'm not quite sure what possessed him to think that me looking at a Garfield calendar would make him think I just HAD to have the Office board game, but he was pretty darn sure if it. Overall, it just felt like I was at a sleazy used car dealership. I left and came back a different day , thinking it may have been an fluke, because I really wanted my Garfield calendar. Same thing happened. I came in, picked up a Garfield calendar, and he swooped in and tried to sell me some random nonsense and wouldn't take no for an answer. Twice I came in for a Garfield calendar, and twice I left with nothing but sadness and frustration.

Then finally you get to checkout and SURPRISE! Sorry, the listing ONLINE is different, so the sign in the store is somehow invalidated. If that's not a scam, I don't know what is. But the individual (whom I assume was an employee) said he couldn't help me. After stating that Yelp has them open till 9:00 Pm, his only response was "on Fridays yes that's true". He could've have offered an additional "I'll make sure to tell those responsible to correct the issue." But alas, no..he did not. Really? How many times have you sat in the store getting paid for hours on end with no customers. Yet when someone arrives 5 min after closing time AND the door is Chiat closing from the last customer you can't be bothered! In his possible defense: Maybe he had a funeral to go to. Maybe he needed to get home to assist with an ailing loved one. Maybe he had a bad episode of IBS coming on. Maybe he had to get to his second job. Or Maybe..... he's an employee who doesn't understand how far 5 min of quality customer service goes. I doubt the owner would have dismissed a 5 min $500 transaction. As the employee approached, my olfactory system was assaulted by an inescapable malodorous wave of body stench mixed with sour dishrag. A not so subtle insidious non-verbal indicator of his failure to comprehend basic human interaction in the civilized world , let alone, be the client facing representative of a retail business. As an owner of a business with 50+ client facing employees for over 25 years, I'm no stranger to guiding employees of this caliber out the door.

I would understand if a game was kept for several weeks and played or copied but really, manager says with no regret, "this is company policy",

However, go elsewhere for trading in stuff. I was given a lowball offer for some games and a collectible I brought in and the owner wasn't happy because one was imported. I ended up taking them to EStarland on my way home and got a much better offer and actual praise for bringing in some good stuff. In the end, if you find what you are looking for, that's great! but go elsewhere to get better values for your trade ins.
