On 8/24/2020 I was told that my Vitamin D was low along with a few other minor vitamin deficiencies. I was told that I would be put on a schedule to come to the office and have these vitamins administered by IV. I told Carla Brook that I was not going to be administering anything by IV and the costs quoted was outrageous. I requested a copy of my labs to be posted to my portal. Nearly three years later, they have never provided me with the lab results that I paid for and simply ignore my requests. I've now requested that my information in their custody and on their portal be destroyed and my account closed. No answer. I can't speak for the glowing reviews this practice gets because this is the worst I have ever experienced.

In November 2017, I started having severe nerve pain in my head. The pain was so intense, I would…read morewake up crying at night. I went to urgent care and was told I had occipital neuralgia (the nerve that runs from my spine into my head was either pinched or damaged). Urgent care had no good solution. They gave me a steroid and told me to take over the counter pain meds. The steroid helped, but as soon as I was finished with them, the pain returned. I felt helpless. I decided to do some research on the condition and how to fix it. I came across a video that had a chiropractor stating that he could fix this problem. This was just what I needed. However, I found out he was located in Colorado. I am in Illinois. I decided not to give up. I looked up several chiropractors in the area and found Dr. Joseph Riggio with Itasca Health & Chiropractic. Upon my first visit, he was VERY thorough. He was straight forward with his diagnosis and the treatment that lies ahead. He told me it will be painful, but it will be worth it. We will trade pain for wellness. I have to say, the treatment was indeed quite painful, BUT it worked. Within 2 months, I was completely pain free. Even the treatment itself didn't hurt anymore. I felt like a new woman. If the patient is interested, Dr. Riggio also will discuss leading a healthy lifestyle. He has a wealth of wonderful supplements that help heal and nourish the body. With great hesitation, he convinced me to try a 30 day detox. I was terrified. I am happy to report that I followed the detox to the letter and have lost 19 lbs. within the 30 days. I am still losing weight and have no desire for fatty, greasy, unhealthy foods. It is just not appealing to me anymore. I visited this place in search of a primary doctor after moving across the country. They took my…read moreinsurance, I paid the copay, but Dr. Nance was not a good fit for me. I won't go into the details, but to summarize, she made me uncomfortable. Now, nearly a year after I had seen them last, they send me a bill for around $250. These services were long paid for through my insurance and the copay, and I was not notified that I owed any more. All payments had previously been resolved. Why are they sending an email stating that I have a balance, and why are they not mailing me a bill or calling to inform me of the balance? I will give them a call soon to figure out the rest, but this is highly unprofessional. It just reinforces my decision to not continue dealing with them. I will update the review based on the outcome of the call. Edit: It took them about a year to submit the bill, and they office representative could not give me a clear and concise answer as to why I owe, despite it being previously covered. She is blaming the insurance, but the insurance had already covered the payment over about a year ago. I am no longer on the insurance that I had last year, so if they tried to charge me again, it may reflect that I owe, but why wait so long to charge? I am waiting for the office manager to call me. This is unethical and a shady practice. They will not be getting anymore money from me. This bill may even have to go into collections. Final Edit as of Dec 2025: Never received a call back or any form of communication (besides another automated email notice to remind me of the bill). Double checked with my prior insurance, and it turns out they submitted their claim very late (as stated previously), but the insurance notes that their contract states they cannot bill the patient as well, since they submitted everything late. So they are breaching their contract with the previous insurance by billing me. Attached is proof of the statement by insurance, "THIS CLAIM WAS NOT RECEIVED ON TIME SO WE CANNOT PAY THE CLAIM. YOUR CONTRACT WITH CIGNA DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO BILL THE PATIENT AFTER THE TIME LIMIT."

When told about a family history of substance use, she went on a 10 minute story about her alcoholic ex-husband. She told me she's proud of her 25 year old daughter who "pre-games (gets drunk) in the parking lot" before she goes to raves in LA, uses molly (ecstasy),and is the designated driver for her friends after. She touted her Princeton education and all her educated friends while trying to up-sell me on tons of expensive self help work she offers. I felt like I was being sold a used car! It took the staffer a long time to find someone that could draw my blood.This meant that I sat in a room directly next to a patient room and heard everything private being shared. The patient told the doctor the plethora of anxiety med.s she was taking, how her father had referred her, how worried she was about her health/the safety of other doctors etc. The only thing I came for was surgical clearance/bloodwork and her staff sent me/my provider NEITHER. They literally sent me/my provider the exact same clearance form my provider gave me, zero changes. No bloodwork, no medical review, not even a doctor signature and this was after TWO failed fax attempts and TWO failed email attempts!

During this initial high-pressure, 2-hour consultation I was aggressively up-sold to a $1,600 "tuition" guised as a minimal monthly commitment . It was NOT clearly explained to me that the initial fee was $947 PLUS $109 per month! The consultation was confusing and overwhelming. The salesperson literally contradicted what was stated in the mandatory instructional video, and when called out stated that it was an 'old video'. I knew better than to make a commitment without researching the business and its practices and products, but went ahead and signed the contract against my better judgment. Within 24 hours I attempted to contact the business by phone and email in an effort to negate the contract and initiate a refund as I knew this program was not for me. The only response came in the form of an ignorant, unprofessional 3 paragraph text which read (in part): "I would NEVER want to take on any client who isn't committed to bettering themselves." This type of unprofessional, rude communication is unacceptable. I returned all materials to the business within 3 days and signed a contract cancellation, but never received a refund or any further correspondence. I even offered to settle for 1/2 of the $500 paid to compensate for the employees' time. Not only did they not respond, they charged my credit card for the remaining $400 the following month and attempted to withdraw an additional $109 for the monthly fee (*AFTER I had signed the cancelation and returned all products). Complaints have been filed with the BBB and the Illinois Attorney General. I have also disputed all charges with my bank. All told, I was charged nearly $1,000 for a wasted 2 hours of my life and to be treated like human garbage. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS.
