When…read moreI called the woman who answered the phone was completely clueless and could barely understand anything - I had to repeat and spell my name about 5+ times. Then she told me that consultations were done via zoom which I had no problem with. But she told me she was not sure how to set up the virtual consultation. I couldn't understand how they could offer virtual consultations if they didn't know how to set them up? Then she kept telling me that there was a "girl" who sets them up. Clearly there were language barriers. I was emailed from an undetermined email a number of days later, with no heading from the email, no practice insignia, address and not even the person who emailed me signed. She asked me if I was still interested in the consultation and said yes. I was told I would be sent a zoom link the DAY of my appointment in the afternoon. I was also told that even though the appt is made at 5:30pm the doctor may not show up a tithe time and he might be late. The day of my appointment I received a TEXT with another person's name confirming the appointment. I texted them back letting them know it was the wrong person. The person who texted apologized, misspelled my name, and had spelling mistakes in the text. She then told me I would receive a zoom link later on. This is starting to sound like a horror story. Then I get texted saying that the doctor wants ME to email HIM with a zoom link. What kind of practice/doctor would ask a patient to email them a zoom link for a virtual consultation? This is of course contradictory to what I was told would be done. What a complete joke. I cancelled my appointment as if they can't even get a simple consultation right, who knows what kind of results can be obtained from a surgical procedure. No thanks. The woman who texted me told me how they were "too busy" to set up virtual consultations. What a joke. Clearly not up to medical and adequate surgical standards in my opinion. As a physician myself, your staff can make or break you. While I have never met the physician himself nor do I know what his abilities are, his staff is clearly an atrocity. Rude, inept, unprofessional. No thanks. I guess you get what you pay for. Found the deal on Groupon. Things now make sense.

Dr. George walked in, all grace and beauty, and gave me a very honest description of the procedure giving me the positives and negatives, and told me that most people either love it or hate it. I hated it :) Anyway, she was also gently but brutally honest about everything else going on with my face. Too many years around the sun and too much sun in general. She gave me multiple versions of how to work on the problems, most expensive to least. I opted for the least expensive fixes for a while. As my years around the sun progressed, I decided it was time to get serious about improving my skin. Which is when Anxhelina entered the picture. So, Anxhelina has that flawless porcelain skin that we all strive for and she does not gatekeep. She calls it like she sees it and will give you all the tips on how to get results. We started with IPL. My first IPLs hurt like hell but were high effective. Went back for follow up IPL and disaster struck. I ended up with stripes. Not a good look. It was horrifying, but between Anxhelina and Dr. George, they strategized a plan and gradually fixed the problem. No charge to me. After that experience, I mentioned that I really wanted to shift over to the Moxi laser, which is different than IPL, but I couldn't find a local practitioner who offered it. A month or so later -- boom! They had it. It is amazing, by the way. Worth every penny. It was around this time that I realized I had found my people. And that's my general feeling about AW Medspa. These are my people. They get me. They understand what I'm trying to accomplish, and they are here for it. Of course there are always times when I don't have the cash flow for something, but I never get any pressure or condemnation from them. They have a tiered membership program that offers different discounts which is really helpful if you're looking for multiple procedures, or are in that place where you're getting serious about combatting sun damage and wrinkles. I'm typically visiting the office once every 4-6 weeks getting a facial or Moxi, and all told, I'm sure my face looks so much better than it would have had I not gone for that first lip flip. I've been with them thru 3 locations (this new one is lovely) and these are the people I trust with my face. They're honest and they know their stuff. Give them a try. You won't be sorry.

At my first appointment (and btw I love Angelica the nurse practitioner...so patient and knowledgeable), I noticed the med spa part of the office. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of my results and the price I paid. I had laser hair removal done here for 2 small-ish regions on my body. First of all, the first lady I had for my first 2 or 3 sessions, I think the machine was on low because it was not painful at all. Fast forward to my 4th session with Taylor, and it hurt like a b!***! (which is normal and expected). It was just a huge jump. Then I found out the lady who I had for my first 2 or 3 sessions was no longer with the company. This might have had something to do with my results (maybe she wasn't doing it right? It didn't hurt at all). My results are not that great. I still grow a lot of hair in the regions I got lasered even after 6 sessions. I know it's never a guarantee, but they promised around 70-80% removal and I wanna say it's at like 40-50%. I currently go to a new place that I left 2 reviews for already, and I already see a difference after 2 sessions, more than what I saw when I was at AH Laser. It's not really worth it here for the price when it comes to laser hair removal. I don't know what lasers they use, but that might have something to do with it, as well.
