He was very prompt in responding, and answered all our questions/concerns thoroughly. We had 2 ceremonies and 1 reception all in one day, and DJ Riz was very accommodating to our needs. He was very understanding and patient when it came to putting our song selections together, and made sure to clarify any discrepancies/missing items. DJ Skillz was our DJ on-site and he was AMAZING! To give you an idea, this was a Gujarati and Malayalee wedding, but we had a broad range of ages and cultures in our guestlist. DJ Skillz had them ALL on the dancefloor! I'm talking our 80 year young grandmothers, the Priestess, the Pastor, they were all busting moves. The atmosphere Skillz created with his music was exactly the kind of vibe we were hoping for. His fees were very transparent and based on consultatatively understanding what our use case was. On the event day, Sailen was arrived really early and was super helpful when the event planner wasn't there. When I communicated a certain genre to DJ Mike, he would laugh at me and say, "I get it, I get it. You like country". Yes, we are country music fans. I had numerous conversations via phone calls and emails about what I had expected for my wedding. I communicated everything very clearly, with timelines, song times, certain songs, ect. I even typed up the songs with times of when to start them. I had a certain song I wanted played right after we said "I do", and Mike was fully aware of what was expected before, during and after my ceremony. We were absolutely humiliated when after we said "I do", our song did not play so we had to awkwardly walk down the isle to no music. DJ Mike sprinted outside the doors after we had already made it down the isle. We were so embarrassed, that I went into my bridal suite and cried. I had also communicated what was expected during the reception. I told him requests were allowed. I had multiple friend and family members request songs that he would not play. I had also requested prior to the day, certain songs to be played, that he did not play. He played several songs multiple times, including an annoying Miley Cyrus song that people were sick of hearing. We heard that specific song 3 times that night. You only get married once (for some anyways), and you want that special night to be perfect and go a specific way, especially when you've been planning and creating that evening for years. I wouldn't wish the humiliation that I felt yesterday on anybody. For as long as we're alive, we will never forget the embarrassment we felt up there at that altar. DJ Mike took our special moment from us and we will never get it back. It was completely ruined because of him.

Soundworks is worth the hype…read more Came for a friend's Bday last month and the way it works is they've got a bunch of DJ setups (about a dozen) and you work in pairs to create your own mixes. The instructor, Sean, walks around offering tips and advice to help you add a bit of magic (horns, transitions, speed, etc.) so your mixes feel more polished and club ready. Then, we wrapped with a live DJ demo where you can see Sean mix live, and watch it all come together. Sean also shared that they've got a full-time school for DJ training, plus a creative space for content creation and music publishing. Honestly, I came in skeptical, but left with some serious respect to the whole DJ culture. Sean was super knowledgeable and kept the vibe upbeat. A couple of us were even close to signing up for the academy full-time! It was a dope experience -- Highly recommend!
