It was a big job and they also ran into some issues with rot which they were able to fix. Josh and Cam were great to work with! Their communication throughout the project was great and they worked hard to get it done on time. After talking to several companies and reviewing proposals, I chose Smart Roofing Systems. Smart has done many homes in my neighborhood and everyone had good things to say about them. My experience was no exception. One difference I noticed about Smart vs. other companies is that instead of having a huge dumpster placed in your driveway, they used an open trailer on wheels allowing for easy removal of the debris each day. I also liked the fact that this left no marks on the asphalt driveway like some heavy dumpster can do. The crews put in extremely long days and did an amazing clean up. When you tear down a roof, shingles, nails, etc. go everywhere. The job site remained neat and the daily and final clean up was superb. Smart was extremely easy to do business with. Workers from Big Rapids Roofing came out yesterday morning around 7am and worked until 7:30 - 8pm in the evening. Five men and a woman. The team of six employees worked together great. They knew what needed to be done and they didn't stop until the job was finished. When finished on the roof they cleaned everything up like using a fine tooth comb. They were extremely hardworking, efficient, thorough and kept me informed on what issues they found while on the roof and showed me the boards that needed replacing from water damage. We were fortunate they didn't find any mold in the rafters after all the leaking we've experienced. This team of workers from Big Rapids Roofing I would hire for any job and strongly recommend them to others for all their home or business work project. So, the quality of work and lifetime guarantee are positives for White Pine. The reason for only a 3-Star review stems from what was promised in the sale. When presenting what the company was offering, the salesperson showed gutters with included leaf guards. She never indicated that these were a separate purchase, leading us to believe they were included in the purchase. After installation, we found out the leaf guards were not installed and were told they were not included in the contract. When questioned about the misrepresentation in the sales presentation, we were offered a 30% discount if we wanted the leaf guards installed - an additional cost of $1,300. Feeling that the misrepresentation by the salesperson - whether unintentional or not - should have been covered by the company and not merely discounted by them, we cannot in good conscience fully recommend White Pine Renovation.
