Mr. Roof Grand Rapids - The part of the roof they left unfinished.

    Mr. Roof Grand Rapids

Update: Do not use Mr. Roof for anything! They quoted another $2500 to finish the roof they were…read moresupposed to finish initially. I, of course, said no because we had already hired a different contractor. I have no trust in Mr. Roof because of how they treated me. They called about a week later to tell me they would drop materials off to finish the roof. I was confused and confirmed that they would not charge me, and the guy said they were not since it was their mistake. I let them finish the roof....they then promptly sent me a bill when it was finished. I'm very disappointed with Mr. Roof, and it's disgusting how they run the company in Grand Rapids. The roof is now done, but I feel scammed. I should have gone to arbitration or small claims, but I don't have time or money for their corporate shenanigans. I recommend any roofer over Mr. Roof. No one else could be this bad. I also reviewed Mr. Roof on Google reviews, and it is not showing up after a few weeks of it being up. It makes me wonder if they flag reviews they do not like. Original post: I would not recommend Mr. Roof. The company did not complete my roof and has been unwilling to resolve it by simply finishing the job. It was a mistake on Mr. Roof's end, and they are reluctant to take responsibility. Instead, they gave me a second quote for the missed section saying it wasn't "part" of the original quote, so I needed to pay extra. I already had the entire roof quoted and signed a contract agreeing to the terms, but they are not honoring it. What is the point of signing a contract if they do not complete the job? I'm not sure if this is something that should be submitted to the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, BBB or if I should get a different contractor. Longer version: I was happy with Mr. Roof until I noticed they still needed to complete my roof. I saw a roof section that had all the old roofing patches, patches, etc. I contacted them about it, and they said they would look into it. They did reach out until I spoke with someone later at their office. When I finally received a phone call, they confirmed they missed a portion of the roof and would send me another quote to get it done. I asked why I would need another quote to have my roof done when it should have been completed the first time. I already signed a contract with Mr. Roof with the expectation that the entire house and garage roof would be shingled. I was just told sorry mistakes happen and that he can knock a couple of hundred dollars off the second quote. I tried to explain that Mr. Roof should hold up their end of the deal to have my roof completed, but they have not been responsive or seem even to care they messed up. My wife called the Grand Rapids locations office and got a runaround that went nowhere. We are still waiting to hear back on if they'll work with me or have some remediation. I am still unsure how they could miss a whole roof section and just walk away and give me a statement of completion. What would have happened if I did not notice and the roof leaked? Would they have honored their warranty or said they were not responsible for that portion of the roof because they did not shingle it? I recently called other contractors/roofers to see what they would do in this situation, and they said to keep reaching out to Mr. Roof to complete the job. I am still determining if that will happen based on the lack of response and their attitude on the phone. I may have to call a different company to finish what Mr. Roof did not.

Our roof was around 15 years old at the time. when he was done he swore up and down the street the roof wouldn't make it thru winter and for sure a second winter would cause masssive leaking etc. I better hire them to fix the roof now so that I could avoid costly damage and problems. We talked to other contractors and they said the roof was fine. I think it's been three winters since then and is currently raining as I type this. Guess what? No new roof and No massive damage. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

I contacted someone that works for them out of their Battle Creek HQ offices, and he directed me to the Grand Rapids team. Will from the GR office contacted me very quickly and was able to come by our house the next day with his coworker, Luke. Both Will and Luke were easy to talk to and understanding. They showed me pictures of the damage to my roof and assured me it was minimal and quoted me an estimate well below what I thought it might be. We had no need to even file a claim with insurance. The next day, Will reached out and told me that because the damage was so minor, he and his boss (I believe his name is Mark) would be able to come over the next day to make the necessary repairs. I'm extremely grateful for the way they prioritized our home, especially with more rain and storms approaching next week. I cannot say enough great things about Will, Luke, Mark, Josh, and the whole team at Sherriff Goslin. If you need work done, call them!!

I took my time getting several estimates and asked a lot of questions, finally settling with a high degree of confidence on Sherriff Goslin. Sheriff Goslin did what they said they would do, from length of time the job would take, cost, and right down to the last detail. I am so happy with my roof!

The roof on my small 1950s bungalow was showing its age and had a few leaks over the years so it needed replacement. I decided early on that I wanted to go with a local company with an established record of quality work and offered a solid warranty. This criteria eliminated a lot of roofers, and I narrowed my choices to three companies that had solid standing in the community. All the companies I contacted had good reputations and recommendations, and the bids came in about the same. But I chose West Michigan Roofing, and recommend you do too. Edward, the Grand Rapids branch manager, did a thorough inspection of my roof and provided an in depth explanation of the process, the how and why of the materials that go under the shingles, installation, the shingles themselves, their crews, and warranty options. He did his homework before our appointment, arriving with overhead photos of my house and identifying areas of concern. It was a lot of information - some might say too much -- but it gave me confidence West Michigan Roofing would do a great job and stand by its work. They also offered a wider choice and quality of shingles than the other companies I contacted. Having a roof torn off and replaced is disruptive in the best of circumstances, but especially when you have a shared driveway as I do. My neighbors report that Dale, the supervisor and the work crew were conscientious and polite (I was at work while they were there). It turned into a two day job as the crew discovered there were three, not two, layers of shingles on the house. Yet the crew cleaned up at the end of the first work day, and when I came home at the end of the second day the only way you'd know they were there, other than the beautiful new roof, was the dumpster in the driveway. They also did a good job of protecting perennials and other plantings in my front yard. It hasn't rained (or snowed--it's June, after all!) since the roof was installed, but I can't imagine that there will be any problems with the roof. And in the unlikely event there are, I know West Michigan Roofing will stand by their work. I encourage you to contact them when you need to replace your roof. You won't be sorry.
