This was well executed, and I will probably do it again next year. The staff contacted me afterwards very promptly to make sure I was satisfied with the event. Excellent follow up! I will give this a solid four stars. Hopefully they can get more vendors to participate next year!

The chapel is lovely: small enough to see and hear everything, yet large enough to accommodate your guests without being cramped. Beautiful structure, too. The actual facility was very well tended, with a gracious and attentive waitstaff. Food was on the average side, and the buffet line did get crowded. An ample dance floor and space to dance along the "aisle" between the groups of tables. Restroom was clean, stocked with various essentials (lint roller, tissues, lotion, other toiletries) and well maintained. Navigating to this venue can be a bit intimidating. Located off of a side road (no traffic signal) that intersects with Hwy. 105, you feel as if you're driving into the deep woods until you reach The Carriage House. It is a very unique setting, and when you leave, the road gets very dark! Parking is ample, but be aware that the parking lot itself is actually stones and rocks (a bit difficult to travel across if you're wearing high heels). This is an enchanting location, and since it's obvious that only one event is occurring at any given time, I can clearly see why a bride and groom would choose The Carriage House.

We worked very closely with Brittany who was always willing to answer my numerous questions and make recommendations when needed. They have a wonderful Open House with lots of vendors making it easy to shop preferred vendors in one place who have worked the venue many times. And the convenience of the chapel and reception hall being so close to each other made it easy for our guests to move from one building to the other. An incredible piece of history turned into a beautiful venue for all your special occasions, yes indeed! Olde Dobbin Station, is just that, old structures dating back to the 1900s, I'm assuming restored to their once living breathing look and feel, but still leaving a bit of rustic heritage behind. I'm a sucker for history, and this place had my heart won over almost instantly. The ceremony was located in what looked like an old storage building, completely brick and mortar and fully open to allow natural light to illuminate its stone insides (with that in mind note it may be cold so you may be looking to give up your sunlight seats to the highest bidder, or hope for a short but sweet ceremony). Situated in the middle of the outside ceremony edifice and the actual reception/banquet hall sits a very quaint vintage Bridal Cottage (sadly I did not get to admire the inside). The Banquet/reception building where I spent most of my duration of the wedding shenanigans is equally beautiful. A large solid wooden door (mind you this sucker is heavy takes a bit of oomph to move) gives way to a large, spacious building lit up by vintage inspired yet modern day chandeliers. Again the restoration of these buildings still leaves behind the look and feel of the history and times past, absolutely beautiful. Another set of wooden doors located towards the far end of the building leads out to a bonfire and a view of open field and woods. If you happen to stroll along the cement paths that surround the venue you will come across what looks like a small pond/man-made lake situated at the end of the path. The venue was not clean, and we encountered what appeared to be a roach infestation. We were also told we could not use the sink because the venue did not have a grease trap. The bartender's behavior was very unprofessional, and I was concerned that they appeared to be under the influence while working. Additionally, the glass entrance door was covered in fingerprints and had clearly not been properly cleaned. For a wedding venue, cleanliness, professionalism, and proper facilities are extremely important. Unfortunately, this venue did not meet the standards I would expect for an event of this importance.

Our assigned DJ was completely unprofessional. He had ample amount of time to fix the issue, call for help, or at least communicate the issue to someone after the ceremony and did not. Instead he went on with our grand entrance and first dance knowing the sound was completely screwed up. During our first dance he was crashing out, hands on head, pacing back and forth, not knowing what to do. If we could go back we would have been way more intentional in choosing a DJ. Music is such an important part of a wedding, we trusted EC Entertainment and they completely let us down. So many moments of our wedding that were supposed to be special were stolen from us. We will never get those back. No amount of apologies will fix it. Important to mention that our DJ also did not reach out to us for the first time until three days before our wedding. We would absolutely NOT recommend EC Entertainment to future couples, however we do wholeheartedly recommend Addison Woods as a venue. They handled the situation with grace, understanding and compassion. They did everything they could to make it right. They couldn't have known it was going to happen. Please learn from our mistake, do not hire EC Entertainment. Meet with other DJ companies and find your fit.
