I don't recommend this place for young children. I don't think the speech therapists here have experience or for the younger child toddler age. When my 3 year old son was not progressing at the rate they wanted they wanted to take a break. Then didn't call me back for months. This lack of relationship led to my son being anxious at appointments. I think they lack the patience/experience it takes to build a relationship with the child, and engage them first. I also had a co worker that had the same experience, when her son wasn't progressing they just stopped services. I think they can improves in working with toddlers. read more

Update/edit: sudden turn of events - due to recent billing events, I received a lengthy text message from the owner about xyz about our last statement and personal issues...and out of spite she made the awkward decision to recommend that "I think it might be better though if you guys consider a different practice for speech therapy". So, naturally we aren't going back because why would I want my son to go somewhere that doesn't want to give him services due to personal issues with the parents because of YOUR billing practices? My Husband took it upon himself to resolve an issue and that's what we got. We found another center that will take care of him and updated practices with billing. We will miss the other therapists because they were wonderful though! I really have enjoyed my experience with the therapists, specifically Tonya and Jasper (jasper filled in once). They are friendly and really knowledgeable. They fill me in on how the session went each time. I would love to give it 5 stars but their billing could use some help. As a previous medical billing and coding specialist, I empathize with the amount of work it is to take on and manage for it being a busy and smaller office (my insurance is Tricare so it's a little more tedious I know). However, I received no bills for about 2-3 months and then got a large bill (we were coming weekly). Not sure if it's insurance fault or how it's getting billed but I'm not a fan of surprises like that. Other than that everything else care wise is great. read more

I was referred to Theracare by a friend whose son has significantly improved his speech after receiving services. I decided to start the process and do the evaluation; once I got to meet Mrs.Lane I knew this was the right place. Sadly, insurance does not cover our speech services so this is an out of pocket expense for our family. When I realized after 3 weeks that my son started speaking more clearly, having tons of additional vocabulary, and feeling more confident I knew that I had chosen the correct place. The cost does not compare to the outcome I've received. We have now been working with Mr.Jasper and he is just as amazing. Erin is a very knowledgeable person, who not only is very passionate about her job, but gives her all to the kids. We need more Erin's in the medical field. My younger son was also evaluated and she was honest and said his speech was age appropriate; could've easily told me otherwise knowing I am an out of pocket client. I appreciate the honesty and all the resources you have shared with me. Walking in there all the kids seem to enjoy being there, not once have I seen a child upset or unhappy when coming out. I will forever be grateful for this place as my sons speech has improved 1000%. He loves coming to speech and it's always a pleasant drive going there. read more

We have been clients of Theracare for one year for our son's speech therapy, we started with Mr. Jasper and due to our schedule changing, we transitioned to Ms. Fernanda, our son loves coming to speech once a week and has made great progress. My mom was referred here. Went only 2-3 times. Unfortunately this place did not return my calls as they said they would. One day they just never called back to schedule a follow up appt. I guess they're ok to just let patient's fall through the crack? At least be straight up and say you dont know how to help certain cases. I mostly saw children there. Therapist gave us homework tasks to practice at home and I was expecting to follow up. i left multiple messages but no return call. And she kept saying she would order a speech tablet and I had to keep asking about it and she kept forgetting...i was looking forward to trying that to be able to better understand my mom but nope. Never heard back from this clinic. Hopefully they dont do this to other people. We have hope in you guys to help us. read more

We decided to take our daughter to be seen at Theracare. This review is based mostly on the lack of professionalism and their billing practice (Teacher Frankie and Teacher Tonya were good and my daughter enjoyed her time with them). When we went in, we were told we would have 21 visits covered by our insurance, and when we got closer to the end of the year, we could change our weekly visit to every other week. We did this, and everything went great. There was never any mention of any issues with our insurance for the entire time we were going. We were never asked to pay anything when we checked in or spoken to about any outstanding balance. We received an invoice with the full sum of all deductible starting from the first visit. We were confused as it was stated that the insurance was going to cover the 21 visits, and everything seemed to be done as so since we had gone in regularly as shown on the invoice. When we looked at our explanations of benefits, we noticed that they were billing twice, but it did get explained that one was directly thru the provider and one out of provider. However, we never received any invoice in a timely manner to compare it to our EOB, until the first invoice attached. When we called, to set a meeting so we could discuss, Erin was distracted with another call and speaking badly of the other caller to us ("having to show her how to do her job"). We have called in the past to set up a meeting with her, but she was never available, probably as she finally stated today that there was no point in seeing us in person. We should have been more diligent, and we want to make sure no one else goes thru this. Please be aware and ask questions, and be fully informed. read more

My daughter LOVES going to "peeecchh" (still working on that sp sound ;) . She instantly felt comfortable and welcome and accepted at Theracare and had a great time with her clinician! We received homework to review with our kiddo and were given some fun unique ways to work on her speech goals that I hadn't been taught before. They are super busy so reaching someone by phone is often difficult but if a message is left and a phone call is requested, they will typically call back. One star deducted for communication. Still need to figure out their billing system on my end, will update if anything unusual as stated in other review. I can not say enough good things about Theracare. My daughter has seen two therapists there and both were great with her. Both Erin and Mckenzie have gone out of there way to help me with paperwork I needed or questions I had. Absolutely love this place! I have seen an improvement in my daughters motivation to communicate and talk. More than I have with any other provider. The staff is so welcoming and kind! Everyone is friendly! My almost 5 year old goes into therapy by herself and is so comfortable and looks forward to this time every week! My daughter loves her speech sessions with Ms. Erin. She's made tremendous progress in expanding her vocabulary, pronouncing words correctly, identifying items appropriately, she's learned nouns, and to speak in full sentences- All during her time at Theracare. The ladies at the office make sessions fun for the kiddos by incorporating activities and games. More importantly, they're extremely patient with my babe and know how to redirect the atypical child. I get an update after every session with homework (things We should be working on at home). I'd highly recommend this office if your child is having speech delays. read more

We have had amazing results with our children (ages 7 and 2) working with our SLP, Tonya. She is very effective even though we don't see her as often as we would like to because we live a distance away. She's great at integrating games and fun into speech sessions, they've even made their own books to learn sight words. We've seen other SLP's through the school district, VMRC, and privately - and the kids as well as I always look forward to their sessions with her - they are all learning so much! My daughter started therapy here at the beginning of this year and loves going. The therapists she has worked with always make learning the correct sounds fun for her and do their best to engage with her in ways that work best for her- even when she isn't wanting to learn that day and just wants to play. They give out an appropriate amount of home study sheets as well to help her keep practicing what she is learning. Would definitely recommend them. They also have been great with communication regarding billing and working with my insurance who hasn't been clear or decisive on what is covered and they have made sure I don't have any costs I'm unaware of prior to scheduling which is nice so I'm not surprised with a large unexpected bill. read more

My son was diagnosed with a severe speech delay, I was lost and didnt know which direction to go. We started coming to theracare about 2yrs ago. I cant even begin to describe the progress our son has made. The staff is awesome! They have guided my son as well as myself through this process with ease. My son has developed such a Bond with Frankie, at times I feel she knows my son just as well if not better then I do. They're really good here. The staff is nice. We definitely noticed an improvement after my son started coming here. He's 4 and on the spectrum. They also do not require masks, but will wear face shields if you request it. You can also bring your other children with you if you don't have childcare options for them, which for me is huge to be able to do that. They have a very good sized waiting area with toys for waiting siblings to play with. There is a restroom (no changing table though) available as well. read more

My son went here for over two years, they were not much help. At the end on the discharge papers they blamed the parents for not working with them at home. If a parent was at an expert in speech therapy why would they send them to a professional. Also the owner Erin feels like her time is more valuable then yours. You miss an appointment they charge you 40 dollars and you show up and they give your appointment to someone else and no compensation for that. I as a parent would not trust my children to this unprofessional clinic after my experience . Today my son completed his therapy at TheraCare. We are so grateful to Frankie, Erin and all the staff. Jameson has come so far since we started with them. The service was not so great since then. My daughter just played play-doh with the staff in 30 minutes. She didn't do anything to help practice with her speech. My husband and I decided to stop going there because they charged us too much for only 30 minutes. This place is not the right one for your small child's needs.
