The two caregivers (working different shifts) they have assigned for our parents (93 and 94 yrs.) help manage their medications, remind them of and make sure they are ready for appointments and when we could not make it, they took them to their appointments. They help our mom remember her grooming activities, provide companionship and plan and prepare tasty meals that my parents enjoy. While we could have gone the route of hiring an independent caregiver, we realized we didn't want to take on the due diligence involved with finding and hiring someone - the background checks, insurance, reference checks and possibly having to deal with taxes. Additionally since we don't live locally, if the independent caregiver called in sick, we'd be challenged with finding a fill in. So for us using a service provider was the right choice. Caregiver to You has been wonderful in ensuring the shift is staffed in the event one of our caregivers can't be there (which in the five months we've been using them has not been very often). We looked at a few services before deciding on Caregiver to You, but we liked their commitment to families and to their staff (happy and fairly compensated staff was important to us). He did not help my dad as was his job. One day my dad fell and was laying in the floor for 3 hours. "A" would not help my dad stand, walk, do his exercises, nothing. He would not even make sure my dad was using his walker. He would not even empty the little urinal container after my dad used it. He didn't give my dad his lunch or medicine at certain times when asked to by my mom. My dad had so much distrust of "A" that he would tell him he didn't want lunch because he literally didn't trust "A" to fix it. When Maxim was told about all this several times by my mom, they just told her they had no one else. They did nothing to try to make the situation better. Maxim was paid thru the VA because my dad is a veteran, so I guess they didn't care to actually do their job but just wanted to collect the money. We are now moving on to a different care agency. I feel so bad that my dad, and mom even, had to put up with this awful service for so long.

Absolutely horrible experience with this company. Yes, partly my fault for not thoroughly examining…read morethe contract on my phone. I had to Docusign on the spot. My mother was about to be released from the hospital and needed immediate care. We had little time to arrange this.Met with their representative and was told that the rate would be 38.50 an hour. We paid an initial deposit of 2173.50. We contracted for a total of 63 hours. Exactly 7 days later without any notice or invoice they deducted another amount of 2818.72 from my mother's checking account. For the 63 hours we contacted for, my mom was charged 38.75 for 22 hours , 62.63 for 8.25 hours, 41.75 for 27 hours, 58.13 for 3 hours and 42.25 for 3.5 hours. I guess it's my fault someone works over 8 hours even though they do the scheduling so I have to pay overtime and night shifts are more expensive and instead of the hourly rate I was quoted of 38.50 it was 38.75 an hour. So basically they overcharged my mother who is dying of cancer almost 400.00 in less than 3 days that we were contracted with them. Can you imagine if it had been a longer period of time? If anyone approaches you from this company in your time of need "RUN". It is a total bait and switch .
