I also have a crazy hectic schedule as I work full time and am also going back to school. Nightmare client. I've never needed/gotten tutoring before so I was pretty skeptical but reached out anyway. Andrew connected me with Amy and she helped me catch up and pass the class. When I moved on to Calculus 2, I thought I might go it alone but quickly realized I couldn't hack it without help. I reached out again and worked with someone new, Teresa. She helped me go from failing the class to getting an A! Without the help of this group there's no way this could've been possible. I'm hugely in their debt. Both tutors were incredibly kind, patient, responsive, flexible and most of all, helpful. Andrew also is always kind and lightning fast responsive, exactly what you need when you're in a pinch. We worked together online using Skype and a great little whiteboarding app called Ziteboard. I was skeptical of that too, but it worked SO well and made scheduling so much easier! You pay for classes in a chunk but they practically instantly refund whatever you don't need. Cannot say enough nice things about Idea Tutors. Thank you!!

They found him to be relatable, kind and focused. His instruction is both skills and strategy driven. I found Ben to be extremely professional and reliable, with excellent follow-up after every lesson. He targeted which skills they should focus on, made targeted recommendations and was very thoughtful about their tutoring program. My children ended up both getting into their first choice schools. My daughter comes home excited about what she's learned, which tells me Leah's approach is targeting my daughter's specific needs. Her attitude towards math practically changed overnight. In writing, she was experiencing writer's block and getting upset over it. As a parent, I was concerned when she had an essay or grammar work that required extensive writing. Leah very soon discovered that the writer's block virtually disappears if my daughter draws her ideas first, acts them out, and types on a keyboard. The difference is astounding. They also work on organizational skills. My daughter created a checklist with Leah that she uses regularly. By adding stickers that she puts next to each completed task, as well as an American Girl image on the bottom, this has turned into a joyous tool. My son is very passionate about mathematics and William was the ONLY person we were able to find in NYC who was willing to find the appropriate approach for an 7 year old. We have taken 3 years worth of courses so far. William focuses on skills and teaches problem solving methods so that kids can succeed in the future. It's not just about getting the right answer.
