Of course, lofty credentials don't mean much if they're not put to good use, but Khristine continues this rich and sacred tradition by teaching students old and new with thoughtfulness, compassion, individualized care, and great humor. She's very skilled and observant in suggesting alterations and adjustments to facilitate injuries, health conditions, and other student-specific needs. And if you think yoga is only about movement and fitness, you're in for a treat (as long as you have an open mind). Her knowledge of pranayama (breathwork), yogic philosophy, and the other "limbs" of yoga are second to none. The other teachers here are also extremely skilled, knowledgeable and helpful. They bring their own diverse skills and yoga lineages to the community to create a fun, expansive and well-rounded place to learn and practice -- whether you're a brand new student, a casual participator, or a seasoned lifer.

It's clear that she has a passion for the beauty of the sound from each instrument she has chosen. But she also has such a deep conviction for the healing she brings to every person in the room. She also puts a lot of thought into each session's theme and you come away floating from the sound, but also more aware of the lessons in it. I look forward to each one. The same is true of Dee's drumming circles. What fun! Her passion overflows and her instrument selection is amazing. I love drumming and how your body feels from the energy of the drumbeats. But beyond the drumming I also love getting to explore all of the different instruments - many of which I have enjoyed the benefits of in Dee's sound baths. It's like adult romper room having fun with instruments from frog guiros to rain sticks to chimes! And because of Dee's big heart, you can be an absolute beginner and feel held and made to feel a part of the experience. There is a yoga studio attached and the classes look great. We just stopped in on our way back home after a weekend. Very different impression than the shops near the beach that look - to be blunt- tacky and junky. This, on the other hand, seems refreshingly unique and special. Stop in and breathe a while.

This style of yoga is highly effective on many levels. It allows you to see where your own strengths and weaknesses lie. It can shine the light on your own fears and neurosis but in a very gentle way. My favorite part about Mysore style Ashtanga yoga is the self lead aspect as well as the focus on the breath. The breath in my opinion is the key element to calming the nervous system which in turn creates peace, grounding, and deep inner connection which makes my days go so much smoother. I noticed how much easier it was to get through the holidays this year compared to past years. I am so grateful that this bright human being has brought this opportunity to the Central Coast. It truly is a gift to our community.
