    Smoked salmon taquitos with aioli.

What a lovely experience! My husband and I went here for New Year's Eve dinner. We ordered their holiday specials which were Korean chicken. smoked duck, and smoked salmon taquitos. All were amazing! The pairing and combination of flavors within each dish was top notch. Every bite was delightful. The basil limeaid is my new favorite drink EVER! Sooooo fresh and almost pallet cleansing. I should have ordered another one! The servers were sweet, full of positive energy, and described every dish with enthusiasm. Although a bit pricey, totally worth the overall experience and flavor adventures!! Very well done chef!!

Where do I start with The Yellow Carrot. Upon our arrival there wasn't many people inside so I didn't expect much. Wade was our server and greeted us right away to get us seated. He presented us with the menu and drink menu followed by the nights specials. His attention to detail was something I've never experienced, every restaurant you go to they just pour you a glass of ice water. Not here, if you prefer ice they will ask. I started with a Cherry Habanero Margarita, there is such a flavor profile of just this drink alone. You get the sweet from the Cherry, followed by just a slight bit of spice and refreshing basil notes on your nose and the finishing notes of the drink. Wade has worked with the Executive Chef on this drink menu to pair it with the out of this world flavor profiles of the entree menu. Our appetizer was the Three X Brussels and the Artichoke Zobo. My date was a fan of the lemon glazed Brussels and I couldn't stay away from the roasted garlic Brussels. The roasted garlic Brussels were paired with some sweety drop peppers from Peru that were a unique touch but delicious for the size. Our date night special was the Grouper Filet topped with lump crab meat and a corn succotash. On the side we were presented with a polenta cake that was prepared perfectly. It had an amazing creamy texture with just a touch of spice. I've never had polenta before but if this is what it tastes like then I'm all about it! I try and eat every restaurant in Durango at least once. The Yellow Carrot has an atmosphere and menu that you would expect to find in the city and service I think you'll find rare on this planet. I will most definitely be back to indulge in the atmosphere and drinks of The Yellow Carrot but mostly for the absolutely phenomenal entree menu. The staff absolutely has this place locked in.

Amazing service and delicious food. The portions are generous. Also, don't sleep on the beet salad. So filling and good. We will be coming back

The food is really a piece of artwork! Lots of thought on presentation. Also the taste of all the food and drinks we ordered was exceptional. Just a slight deduction in service because I wish they would of been straightforward with us if they were out of something instead of just substituting. For example our kabobs were supposed to come with homemade tortillas instead we got tortilla chips. The burger instead of red onion had white onion. We may have chosen different things if told about the substitutions. Service is a bit slow when there are a few tables. Overall food was pretty incredible

We ate here today at the yellow carrot in Durango. If you are anywhere near Durango, you need to drive here and have dinner and don't forget to take home multiple desserts. You can actually order them to go and take a bunch. Really. You must. Their appetizers are amazing. You have to try them. Their entrées are over the top. The sauces are incredible. Then we get to the bar they have their own unique drinks that they have made their own. Absolutely delicious you must get here. The staff is absolutely incredible and so kind and lovely. You will love this place.

My husband and I visited Colorado and this restaurant was recommended to us. We were so glad we came. The food, the ambiance, the servers were all beyond excellent. I ordered the beet trio, and I have to say it was one of the best things I have ever eaten! My husband ordered a salad and it was huge! The presentation was outstanding. I got the Persian Love Cake to go and it did not disappoint. I only wish we didn't live so far away.

    Basil ginger ale non-alcoholic drink

Oh, my! Where has this restaurant been my whole life?!? Love the ambiance walking in the door and was immediately seated by the friendly guy behind the bar. Started with their basil ginger ale non-alcoholic drink. AMAZING! From the bright green color, beautiful presentation to the complex and intense flavors, this drink is worth every calorie. I started my lunch with the asparagus bisque. And it was art mixed with dining. The grilled asparagus fanned out to be the bristles on a brush! My server pored the bisque into a bowl that has seasonings and a few fresh berries. At first, I questioned the berries but they did an excellent job of complementing the rich bisque. Best asparagus bisque I have ever had . For my lunch entree I ordered the purple potato pancake. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, the exquisite pancake was served. A feast for both the eye and stomach! Brussel sprouts, teardrop tomatoes, carrots and a delicious sauce accompanied the moist and flavorful pancake. Love the Spanish music playing in the background. You don't feel like you are in a strip mall but instead I feel transported to a lovely little cafe in Spain. I have lived in the area for 4 years and my only disappointment was not stopping here sooner! I plan to come back for dinner and have a glass of wine from their large selection. If you are tired of eating the same old thing, stop here!! You won't be disappointed!!

A very good place to eat. My only knock for this place is that there were only two people working the dining room when we arrived. Therefore in between serving us and his handling the pastry counter we sat at our table for more than 30 minutes before we could order dinner. Taking that into account, the food was very good. The spousal unit devoured the Greek Lamb Burger. I loved the Shrimp and Grits. I have had this dish in South Carolina and I have had the version they serve in Gulfport, Mississippi. But this version has very good grits as well as the sauce the shrimp was in was very creamy. Top notch. I applaud the chef's skill and talent.

We always love this place. Great atmosphere and even better food. It's nice they change up their menu from time to time. Only thing it is expensive, but again delicious.

Rosemary brown butter fries, those are red chilies but the fries weren't spicy at all. They're very good.

Hi, had dinner. The atmosphere was confusing when we sat down to dinner. Spanish music, some Greek food on the menu. No matter though because the staff was very friendly. I got the lamb burger and it had a ton of cucumber swirls on it with a a lot of TaZieke sauce. What I didn't understand was the swirl of ketchup on the plate and I hate ketchup. Either way I enjoyed the burger. The fries are heaven on a plate. They were covered in rosemary brown butter and very addicting. My dessert was a piece of baclava. It wasn't very good because there was so much filling that it was oozing out of the filling dough and had a wet consistency. I did not eat it. With that being said, I would go back to try something else on the menu because I did enjoy my dinner.

    Brussels and savory beignets!

This was our second visit to The Yellow Carrot. Our eyes and taste buds were tantalized. The food is divine and the service is top shelf & oh, so are the drinks! Super fun, interesting and delish choices! If you're anywhere near Durango and if you're not but are considering visiting Durango put The Yellow Carrot on the top of your must do! Thank you you for a 100% enjoyable evening! It's a 10!

The YELLOW Carrott is THE BEST RESTAURANT IN PLATA COUNTY! Hands down! I was so in love with the food. The preparation is executed perfectly EVERY time. I live in Florida and was in Durango for a week. I ate there 3 times and took 4 meals and quite a few cupcakes back with me. My family LOVED the take n bake a much as I loved the restaurant. My first server was Luke. He was awesome. The next time I had Andrew! What an amazing guy he is great service and like Luke his recommendations were spot in. I wish that the Yellow Carrot was in SW Florida it would be a MAJOR HIT!

He is a world class chef with small town friendliness and he is a professional besides. His food is the best I've ever had. We hired him for two back-to-back meals and each and every dish was exemplary. Not a disappointment among them. There was interest and differentiation in each dish without it being overdone or off-putting. I was very impressed at how gracious and kind he and his staff were during the entire evening. Jimmy was calm and relaxed in the planning stages and that evening. His staff were equally gracious and relaxed. We had one dietary concern in our family and Jimmy was thoughtful and kind about how to include appropriate food for that person. Besides all this, dealing with him in this business transaction was smooth and organized, he was on-time, and thorough in his planning, his paperwork was in order.
