Initially my experience was good. Inside the store is great customer service. BUT, the delivery guy Larry was such a horrible experience. He did not place the product where requested as the other delivery driver did before. He yelled at my wife. He was totally out of line. Now I use the company called KrushinLLC Crush Concrete. Due to Sthil hand pruner not being stock, item had to be ordered. When ordered we were NOT told that they could not be exchanged. So when I went to pick up item I requested to exchange it for a bigger pruner. That is when I was told I could NOT exchange it. Do not recommend shopping there. Customer service is not good. There are plenty of other Sthil dealers out there that appreciate your business. Definitely not Yard Stop in Ocala FL on State Route 40. I received a text to rate them. We had some major landscaping done by The Yard Stop/Ocala in Del Webb/Stone Creek subdivision, where we had a new build. And although they were pleasant to deal with at the time, they do not honor the 6 month replacement of diseased plants. My husband called a few times and left messages with Jen, then since there was no response, we emailed the owner a couple times and again no response, so we finally just gave up and replaced the shrubs (from Lowes) ourselves. read more

We drove 3 hours to purchase from them and was running a little late, they waited on us to get there and was happy to do so. Came into the store to schedule installation, and Jenn came out to house to spec everything out. I tried to overlook that it took two more calls after two weeks before she sent over the quote. Invested more than $3,200 to have The Yard Stop come out and install three trees, a sago palm, and some hedges. I had specified with Wendy that I would need to come in and help select the items, but on the morning of the installation, Jenn called and said they were already loading the truck! The trees looked really scrawny, the palm was tiny , and the bushes were also very small. I could have purchased the palm and bushes from Home Depot or Lowes for, literally, half the cost, and installed them myself. To add insult to injury, I found out the company won't stand behind their products or installation unless I invest in expensive irrigation (I have used lawn sprinklers to complete success at my previous house). I have to say that the Mexican laborers did the best they could with what they had, staked down the trees, and arranged the shrubs evenly. After I encouraged the foreman to get off his phone in the truck cab, he emerged and thereupon supervised well. It was fun chatting with them in Spanish and I tipped them each handsomely, as I felt somewhat concerned for them, seeing what they had to eat on each of their two siestas/meal breaks. I was disappointed mainly in the tiny sago palm, and two of my neighbors mocked it the next day! I would not have approved the loading of such an item that cost me so much. UPDATE: I was able to request a follow-up visit and Jenn did come out, said one of the trees was, in fact, failing to thrive. She said she would see what could be done. read more

I really want to thank Andre for a fantastic recommendation on the plantings. Andre suggested a pencil boxwood for the "thriller". Looks amazing and this tall boxwood is hearty and cold tolerant. With Andre's suggestions I choose sedum for the "spiller"and oyster plant for the "filler". Andre is very knowledgeable and patient and i high recommend Andre if you need a creative thinker. We shopped at The Yard Stop this morning. Wonderful place, helpful staff, reasonable prices, large variety of plants...pots...decor...equipment. There is something there for everyone. We bought a few flowering plants (of course) but our best purchase was...a large Agave Americana Variegated that is now proudly planted in our front yard. What an awesome plant. It was a little tricky getting it out of its temporary pot and into the ground without getting too many wounds. We did it...it looks great and we love it. read more

I bought 2 trees $98. After three weeks one was doing badly, I called them they told me use the fertilizer I bought it the same time which was $27. I did that I watered as they told me and a few weeks later both trees were starting to die. I called again they told me to don't water them everyday or every other day maybe just once a week I did that now they were really dying then I went there and I said you need to help me with these trees this is ridiculous $49 per tree and watching both of them croaking is crazy one's doing better but the other one is horrible. Okay by this stuff for $20 and spread it around the tree that's not doing well Water it every other day. Okay did that come back and let us know how it's doing I called them and asked the the gentleman I spoke to when I was there. It was his day off. We'll both trees have died, here's there reasoning, I didn't do something right I didn't plant them right I didn't water them right I didn't look at them right I didn't do anything right I said the trees are 3 months old they said we don't guarantee our trees if we had to guarantee everything we sold we'd be out of business. I said well maybe you should be or maybe you should be buying stuff from a reputable company because I bought three trees one survived to died. Well that's life You're out two trees and $98 plus all the bags of Tru this try this. My wife has been breeding butterflies for over a year now and we have purchased milkweed from them before without any issues. But this past Saturday we purchased 12 Milkweed plants and after placing about 15 healthy adult caterpillars on the new plants and the next day not a leaf was eaten and they were all dying or already dead. I called Monday afternoon (2 days later) and the manager refused to take them back- and worst part I was just asking for store credit to use to get another batch when they received a new shipment because they must of been treated with pesticides. If you want true plants/vegetables not treated with pesticides you should really consider going somewhere else. read more

Bought a brand new gravely mower from yardstop used it one time found a timer didn't work send it back to have it service and it took them 4 weeks did not offer to let us use a mower while they had the mower all that time you know living in Florida grass grows fast I highly do not recommend yardstop their service is poor. read more

We sat down with a professional landscape designer, went through what were the best flowers, and plants for our climate. I can't believe I'm giving The Yard Stop one star. We had contracted with them for a large landscaping and hard-scaping job. We loved the design process and especially the final design. We put a 33% deposit down with a May 10th start date. We have been eagerly waiting for the job to start today. We even picked items that we were told would not be a problem to get. Today no one shows up. Long story short: today they tell us they don't know when the product will be in or when the job will start. In addition, they lied to us today about communications saying they had told us it "delayed" and that they had been in communication with us all last week. They also admitted that the items we chose had "supply issues" after we put down the deposit. One simple phone call to us would have been the professional and courteous thing to do to let us know. They did refund our deposit today; but we have wasted so much time with them. read more

It's their loss as I have seven properties and adding more that could be serviced if they did what they say they will do and not skimp on the products they use. The salesman EJ was excellent. He knew the product inside and out and was no pressure. I returned the next day and purchased the mower. It was washed , fueled and delivered (n/c ) within two hours. The delivery driver ( jeff) spent an hour with me going over oil changes and maintenance and didn't leave until I was comfortable driving it( first zero turn) . The 0% finance was a no brainer. They don't deserve 3 stars but I need to acknowledge the hardworking folks that came over to deliver the plants. Yard Stop as a company has gotten bigger and now lost all sense of customer service. The young lady at their front office is confrontational and has no idea what customer relations is all about. I had all the landscaping done by Yard Stop when we first moved into our new home and spent quite a bit of money. But the treatment we received before is now just a memory. Their new policy about no warranties is a gamble. If you purchase a tree and it dies in a couple of weeks, you have no recourse. I live in a retirement community, and I know a lot of folks here are just like me, a retired senior citizen. Physical limitations prevent us from several activities which includes planting which means you must depend on the vendor you are purchasing your items from. If you contact their front office to discuss an issue, their current attitude is one of confrontation and arrogance. Yard Stop has become a big company now and probably does not need further business. I for one will grant their preference and seek out other nurseries for my future needs. My neighbors saw their truck here this morning and witnessed my issues. I will make sure to share it with my other neighbors in my community. We as customers deserve better and must support businesses and/or organizations who will value our patronage. Yard Stop has stopped doing that. They don't need us any more. read more

Our landscapers instructed us to go to the Yard Stop to purchase the tree he was going to place in our landscape design. He told us to give his card and the Yard Stop would award a 10% discount. All was well, on Saturday, March 2, we did as instructed. Chose the tree, paid for it. On Wednesday, March 7, we told our landscapers we wanted to include rose bushes to the design. Again, he instructed us to go to the Yard Stop and purchase the roses of our choice. However, what a change in the process. We selected the roses and told the clerk, Haley that we were sent by the landscaper, etc. same scenario as on Saturday. She responded that discounts are NEVER given to customers. We explained to her that on Saturday we followed the same instructions and all was well. She insisted NO discounts were allowed to be given. Another man (cannot call him a gentleman because of his arrogant demeanor) come out and stated he was the OWNER and it was not their practice to give discounts regardless of what the clerk did on Saturday or what the landscaper told us. He reiterated "I am the OWNER and we NEVER give discounts" Fast forward, we paid for the roses and I informed him I would not be back, as he attempted to invite me back to their upcoming sale. Really? Would I ever come back, to a place who has no business courtesy. The 10% equaled $6.60 and as the OWNER you dispute with a customer over an issue or error that your staff did. What a wise and prudent business owner would have done was honored the $6.60 and keep a satisfied customer. I found it interesting that the staff on Saturday had no question about the small discount, and that the Landscaper had the same understanding about the discount. To which the Yard Stop OWNER had no idea about. (I guess he doesn't look at his daily sales, the receipt from Saturday, clearly shows the discount.) Well Yard Stop, I am new to Florida, but I am NOT an idiot. I have two business degrees, a master's degree and a doctorate degree. But above all I have common business sense and understand common courtesy and how to treat people. $6.60 certainly will NOT break my bank by any means. To anyone reading this, beware of this place. Yard stop has a nice variety of plants and they are very well taken care of. The plants are located in the back as they sell equipment in the front. Staff was friendly and attentive. A young man offered his help and asked if we had questions to let him know. Prices were high but you get a nice quality plant. I really wanted succulents which I was surprised that they did not have since I feel they are so popular. I really wanted succulents so I left empty handed. But if you need a beautiful healthy plant this is the place. I will definitely return. read more
