I'm the president of a condo HOA and this company was recommended by the new management company we hired. The first year, 2024, the crew did an amazing job and the co-owners were very satisfied. Fast forward to 2025, and let me premise that I work from home and my desk is right next to the window so I see when they arrive and the work being performed. I don't know what happened, but the work this year is subpar and when I questioned one of the crew about the edging, even reiterating what our contract said, I was told no they only edge bi-weekly, even though they had not edged in 3 weeks and our contract says bi-weekly or weekly as needed. This year they began spraying the weeds in the rock beds in front of the buildings where we have small shrubs, not only do they not post notices of chemicals being present (we have many small pets), but the shrubs are now burned from the chemicals. We pay to have our shrubs trimmed twice a year, and here it is the end of June, our shrubs look like hell because the first trimming has not happened and we have no idea when that will take place. Weed whacking appears to be non-existent, they haven't weed whacked the weeds along the walls or walkways, and said weeds are almost knee high. The blades on the mowers must be dull because the grass, instead of being cut, is bent over. We also pay for fertilizing (weed & feed) 2x per year. This year, they didn't come out until the middle of June, well after the weeds took hold. And, as another poster said, we have many many bald spots where the grass is now non-existent. As far as being responsive, as they say they are responsive here on Yelp, I've left voicemail messages and sent text messages asking Zak to contact me and/or to come out and walk the property with me to see my concerns, but I've yet to receive a response. Like I said, last year the service and the work performed was fabulous; this year.... not so much!! We're extremely dissatisfied with the service we received so far in 2025. read more

We contracted with The Yard Men for summer 2023 cutting and weed control and fertilizing. Although the weekly cutting was ok, the weed control was non existent. This spring our grounds look worse than I have ever seen it in 13 years. Massive amounts of Dandelions blooming, large patches of crabgrass and weeds and many areas of brown burnt spots. The amount of money we paid for their service was a waste of money. The lawn is supposed to look better not worse! I am the president of our condo association and I'm getting many calls complaining about the condition of our lawns. This is a large condo community that they have been servicing for the past 4 years. The service of lawn and snow has been the best this community has had in years. When I first approached The Yard Men for lawn service at the end of April 2017 there were some crossed wires and I had to cancel and reschedule their services. This was on me and really no fault of theirs. Their service began May 3rd, 2017 and I was scheduled for a biweekly Tuesday cut, with the specification to cut our lawn very short. The first two services their crew had to leave mid cut as their larger equipment could not fit through the gate to the backyard so the rest was done later in the week. The consequent weeks were, for the most part, not on schedule. Although 1 of those weeks we did have rain which would delay our cut by a day. However, on more than a couple occasions I would have to call to make sure someone was going to come by to cut our lawn. The person I talked to at their office would tell me that the crew is out until 7:30 p.m. and that they would definitely come by, but no one would show up. I would call the following day and notify their office of the lack of service, and someone would come by later in the week. On one occasion in June they just did not show up the entire week, even after notifying them. I was later told I would be switched to a Wednesday cut. During their "catch up" days, the lawn was not cut short as l requested and some patches of grass were missed. Last week, I called to cancel their service and left a voicemail. In the voicemail, I explicitly asked to cancel the service and if there was anything else I needed to do to make the cancellation official and they did not return my call. However, they showed up this week and mowed. It is important to note that I had cut the lawn 3 days prior and that it was already very short in appearance (no more than 2 inches), and that the backyard gate was locked from the other side when they arrived. The owner emailed me saying that they have been having voicemail problems, which is understandable. Additionally, I did request a quote for weed removal and bush and hedge trimming and was told I would have a quote by the end of the week. That was over three weeks ago. On the plus side, they're one of the few companies to offer biweekly cuts in my area and the people I interacted with were personable and respectful. They have issues following up with customers, are either unreliable or mismanaged, and when they tried to catch up on the work that was late, they sacrificed quality. This company has not been good at all. They were hired to take care of our landscaping and snow plowing for our subdivision. The landscape looked like it was not weeded or maintained all summer. I don't even think they did a fall clean up, the sub members did it. Now with the recent 6+ inches of snow it took over 12 hrs since the time the snow ended for them to plow our sub. I'm sure the snow makes them busy but they don't seem to care about us (the subdivision). read more

On June 18th of 2015 I purchased a gift certificate through Yelp for Lawn Care. It was intended as a Father's Day gift for my husband. We spent $150 for $200 worth of service from The Yard Men Lawn & Snow. It took three calls before they finally responded. They said it would be good for two cleanings and showed up for the first one. They did a good job and said to call them back in a few weeks to finish. When my husband called them back to finish the job he left two messages that were not returned. They finally reached on the third call and said it was too late, they were stopping for the season. No snow had fallen yet and other yard services were still working. Our yard never got cleaned up before the snow fell. Spring arrived and my husband called twice. No one returned his calls. He finally got an answer on the third call. He was told we were too early and to call in a couple of weeks. He called twice since then and left messages that have not been returned. Our yard still has leaves all over it from the fall that were never picked up and they don't return our calls. Out of 11 phone calls they have answered twice and they have only returned one call. Frankly, this was the worst Father's Day present I ever gave my husband. It has caused him nothing but frustration and our yard looks terrible. Every other yard on the street that has lawn service has already been serviced. These people clearly do not want our business and we do not want to do business with them. I left a message today requesting that they refund the second half of the gift certificate, but as you may have noticed, they don't return calls. P.S.
