It's proper the most local of the local ones in Henley-in-Arden, but from the first drink asked to the information given me about the toilet. I felt a really welcoming reception in this pub! To be honest, there is a quite vibrant vibe in this pub that probably made this place a bit more popular than the other ones. jacket union flags, young and really educated staff and some locals enjoying football on the big screen. This seems to be a very good sports bar with a plus: the building is absolutely fantastic. The pub was recently refurbished but the real structures of this medieval construction. They serve a range of real ales as well and the price is quite cheap compared to the other pubs visited in this high street. Beer garden and karaoke are also other attractions of this very spacious and pleasant pub!

The adjoining restaurant serves tasty food in sensible portions with a changing specials board. One small quibble would be that it would be lovely if they included more side vegetable choices. Overall a very welcoming pub if you just want a pint or watch footy on the big screen. A real fire makes it cosy in the winter. Highly recommended.

I attend The Red Lion at least once/twice a month and never have I been disappointed. They do have a car park on-site but if there are no spaces, you will have to park in the side streets. The Red Lion is a great place to be when watching live sports and there is plenty of atmosphere at the pub. There is a small room you can hire out for a get together or small party. At times you can get that feeling of being crammed in if the room is packed. But the food does make up for it and the reason I regularly visit The Red Lion is because of the food. Both the lamb and chicken dishes are lovely and they also have mixed BBQ's with chicken wings/legs along with sheekh kebab. There are vegetarian dishes available as well to order. A highly recommended pub with great food and great service.

If you're looking for a cheap pub that plays all the sports on TV then this is for you. I went with a friend to watch the football and have a couple of beers. Overall it had a nice chilled out vibe, unlike some of the city centre sport bars which can get a bit overwhelming at times.

Of course, a bar is available (of course!) but tee-totallers who enjoy a game of pool are sure to be entertained with over 20 tables available to punters. Unfortunately, as with most pool halls I've encountered (a lot of them that have been Rileys, in fact) it does seem a bit dark and dingy in there - and, given the nature of the place, it does attract large groups of males. I've never encountered trouble in there but a couple of times have received looks off the kind of naughty boys mommy warned me not to play with. Still, people generally keep themselves to themselves and the bar staff are friendly - reasonable pint prices too, so a more than decent way to kill an hour or two when the city's more visceral thrills don't appeal.

There was a complete mixture of people in there, as you can imagine at 4am in the morning. But random none the less, we had a few games of pool, a couple of drinks and had a really good time. I won't pretend and say that I'm a regular pool player as I'm not. In fact, I'd probably go as far as saying that the only time I'm any good is by fluke. The pool tables seemed good condition but again, I'm not a pro! Even though it was very early in the morning, the staff were all chirpy and seemed happy to have such a lively crowd in!

I will say the music they was playing on the night wasn't to my taste, should of been mixed up more really to everyone's taste, I think we made a few requests not one of them was played. The venue itself is quite big, I think it had a room downstairs but never went down there the main room is quite open space with a dance floor and areas to sit, it also has seats and big smoking area outside so it fits everyone really. It does look like a posh venue to be honest, there was lots of people in suits staff and customers on the night. So I don't know if it was a themed night. The music was generally hip-hop and dance throughout the night i didn't hear many I could dance to. So if you like that give it a try as for crowd, it was general good crowd on a saturday night so lots of friendly faces around.

However, there is one issue and that is with the bouncers, I visited Players last night for a friend's birthday and half way through the night a girl spilt her drink down me and headed to the VIP, I then walked over to confront her for not apologising when a bouncer violently grabs me out of the club, I then renter the club to tell my friends what had happened when we came back and put me outside, I then tried to explain to him the situation when we then attempted to swing a punch at me. Ruined the night which is a shame, bouncers need to know their role
