Nice cosy pub, just off of the main road through town. All the food is freshly prepared according to the proprietor; had the deep fried brie with cranberry, and it had to be one of the best ones I've ever had. Lots of places do that dish as a whole round brie, coated heavily in breadcrumbs - not the Town House; theirs was four decent sized cube pieces, in a light crumb/batter coating, fried until the cheese had melted, and served on cranberry sauce with a side of rocket. Really, really nice. A nice varied menu too, ranging from the aforementioned brie through fish and chips, and out into creme brulee.
I'm not a drinker, but the prices seem to be in line with other pubs in the area, most drinks being in the £3 - £4 range. Tea/coffee in the ~ £1.50 area.
Decent seating arrangements (that seem to change every week), and a wonderful open fire in winter. read more
