Of course, a bar is available (of course!) but tee-totallers who enjoy a game of pool are sure to be entertained with over 20 tables available to punters. Unfortunately, as with most pool halls I've encountered (a lot of them that have been Rileys, in fact) it does seem a bit dark and dingy in there - and, given the nature of the place, it does attract large groups of males. I've never encountered trouble in there but a couple of times have received looks off the kind of naughty boys mommy warned me not to play with. Still, people generally keep themselves to themselves and the bar staff are friendly - reasonable pint prices too, so a more than decent way to kill an hour or two when the city's more visceral thrills don't appeal.

There was a complete mixture of people in there, as you can imagine at 4am in the morning. But random none the less, we had a few games of pool, a couple of drinks and had a really good time. I won't pretend and say that I'm a regular pool player as I'm not. In fact, I'd probably go as far as saying that the only time I'm any good is by fluke. The pool tables seemed good condition but again, I'm not a pro! Even though it was very early in the morning, the staff were all chirpy and seemed happy to have such a lively crowd in!

Compared to other Walkabout's I have been to throughout the country, Birmingham's Walkabout,…read moresituated on Broad Street has long been a favourite of mine. Despite being similar to other Walkabouts in style and service, the location of this particular Walkabout makes it a great destination for those intent on having a drink and a meal, before moving on to somewhere else. This specific Walkabout is a favourite of my group of friends when it comes to sport. Whether it be Rugby or Football, Walkabout always promotes a great and friendly atmosphere which everyone enjoys. The prices of some drinks may be slightly excessive in comparison to others, but nonetheless, Birmingham's Walkabout, with its perfect location is head and shoulders above any others I have visited.

The crowed is mixed, extremely popular on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and the drink prices are reasonable. You may find there is quite a wait to get served after 5pm. The bouncers also keep an eye on you, if your too drunk, you may find yourself man handled out of the premises. The place does have an authentic Australian feel, hence the name and it's quite a nice friendly establishment. A great location with a Taxi rank right opposite, and also near to the restaurants if your peckish after, and local cash machines nearby. The TV is also on with live sports which creates a nice atmosphere, albeit somewhat loud. Give this a go for your next pub crawl.

Kicked out for no reason. Me and my friends visited today…read more(Wed 20th Nov). The bar was nearly empty. Half of us ordered a snack and a drink and were talking when one of the guys from the bar (who we were told by his co-worker was called Levi) came up to us and said "so are each one of you gonna get a drink or are you gonna have to leave?" When asked "why", he began making up some excuses such as "we have to heat it up it costs to heat this place"? Reminder: the bar was nearly empty and our table had ordered drinks and snacks. As we were leaving I still had my drink and I asked "can we have 5 minutes while I finish my drink", to which he started being rude and said "you can stay, they can leave" and just kept refusing to let my friends wait 5 minutes. When asked to deliver further explanation as to why we are being kicked out, he walked away and did not provide any details. We believe it was unfair for following reasons: 1. The bar was nearly empty, therefore we did not take up anybody's space and nobody was waiting to take a seat. 2. We were PAYING COSTUMERS. 3. We were not loud and did not behave inappropriately. There was no legitimate reason to kick us out of this bar. This was extremely rude and we will not be coming back.

Well this is an unusual place in a fairly deserted Digbeth location. I needed a 30 minute stop over…read moreen-route to a meeting and was directed this way from another 'pub' that didn't do any food. Was starved and needed something, so I popped in. Inside it's pretty large and quite nicely laid out. There are plenty of 'groups of friends' type seating and single and multiple occupy tables, plus some bar stools. There's lots of disco lights and a DJ desk. Sky Sports was on, which I see as a bonus, but with the sound off and text on screen instead. That's OK. Something to watch. So they have decent offers for lunch and a comprehensive, pretty much as you'd expect, pub style menu. I was after something quick and filling, so went for the 'classic' Gammon, egg, chips combo for £5. Service was very pleasant and smiley. The food arrived after ,maybe 15-20 minutes so timing was just about OK. Usual mash potato style chips you get everywhere, so zero taste or texture. Good juicy Gammon and nice fried egg. All was fine, even the side salad. Checked out the drinks selection at the very long, well sorted bar and looked impressive. So, despite being in a bit of an industrial wasteland, I had a good stop-over. There were maybe a dozen people there at 1.30pm on a Wednesday, which to me indicates the place probably has a good batch of regulars. Mix of oldies, lunchies, and business meeting types. It's a modern warehouse of a bar space, but in the right mood and at the right time I can imagine you'd have a good time, a good time, oh yeah!

It's proper the most local of the local ones in Henley-in-Arden, but from the first drink asked to the information given me about the toilet. I felt a really welcoming reception in this pub! To be honest, there is a quite vibrant vibe in this pub that probably made this place a bit more popular than the other ones. jacket union flags, young and really educated staff and some locals enjoying football on the big screen. This seems to be a very good sports bar with a plus: the building is absolutely fantastic. The pub was recently refurbished but the real structures of this medieval construction. I attend The Red Lion at least once/twice a month and never have I been disappointed. They do have a car park on-site but if there are no spaces, you will have to park in the side streets. The Red Lion is a great place to be when watching live sports and there is plenty of atmosphere at the pub. There is a small room you can hire out for a get together or small party. At times you can get that feeling of being crammed in if the room is packed. But the food does make up for it and the reason I regularly visit The Red Lion is because of the food. Both the lamb and chicken dishes are lovely and they also have mixed BBQ's with chicken wings/legs along with sheekh kebab. There are vegetarian dishes available as well to order.
