Lobster roll and Northern Haze by True North Ale Company (Ipswitch, MA)
Shawn M.

The lobster roll was delicious with a copious amount of meat. I also had a side of fried clams. Great choices of local brews. I drank a Northern Haze by True North Ale Company (Ipswitch, MA) which I highly recommend - gorgeous deep gold/yellow color, fruity tangerine aroma from the Amarillo hops, and a hoppy kick to the aftertaste that isn't too overpowering such that even those just getting into IPAs or hoppy brews shouldn't be overwhelmed. Rich and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was my first time in town and I even made friends with another guest from across the bar. Overall, excellent sports bar with good seafood, local charm, and great prices.

A decent little pub type place. Good fries. They have Keno & pool tables. Cheap beer & food. It's also right next to the movie theater.

Have the Winners Circle discontinued having servers?

HI Leslie, Yes, we still have servers at every table, inside or outside. Thank you for inquiring.

Do they have a full bar? Or just beer?

My honey and his friends have gone to this place numerous times over the years and love it. I had…read moreto try it for myself. This place did not disappoint at all! My first impression was Wow! This place is immaculate! Every inch of the walls were covered with college banners from all over as well as pictures. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. One waitress has worked there for 30 years. That's a huge plus in my book. We started out with a few beers. They have beer on tap and bottles as well. There is a full bar. It's small but it was packed at 3:30 on this Wednesday afternoon. We asked the bartender about what we were looking to get...I always go large...thankfully he said that a small full bellied clam app and a small huge sized scallop plate with fries would be enough for us. We were so full! Even left with leftovers. Let me just say...can you say, best seafood anywhere? Seriously! So gooood! You have to try this place. Parking is available. If you're going when it's dark, watch for the sign. It isn't that bright. That would be my only thing that wasn't 100%. But hey, it's what's in the inside, right?

My wife and I were first time customers today for lunch. Let's just say that we can now see where…read moreall the great reviews come from... especially for their fried clams. We arrived at 2:15 to find the place full. After a short wait a table became available. The place is old and a tad shabby, but in a quaint, homey way. It `appeared to be clean (including the rest rooms) Sports memoribilia adorn the walls. Our server, Patty C. (a middle aged blond lady) provided excellent, friendly and knowledgeable service and patiently answered our questions with a smile and sense of humor. Now for the food! My clam dinner was outstanding, among the best I've had. My only issue - a minor one - was the "market value" price of the clams. I thought $42 was a bit steep. But in view of the freshness and portion size I'm inclined to overlook this. My wife also very much enjoyed her chicken tenders. All in all an excellent lunch with very good service. Will definitely return when in the area!!!

We went back again last week and must have caught them on an "off" night: we think the usual chef was off because it was obvious the person in the kitchen didn't know what they were doing. All three of us had salad as our starters which were OK: large but were already dressed with an abundance of dressing. My companions both ordered Ruebens. The meat was tough as shoe leather. It might have been ok if the cook had used a meat slicer to cut the meat in thin slices but it was sliced in two thick chunks, making it impossible to eat. The server said that ppl were always sending it back...hmm...The server/bar tender was very nice and took those off the bill. A meatball appetizer was ordered and was very good. I had chicken wings as my second course (well done) and they were OK. My S-I-L had an order but didn't specify "well done", so hers were chewy and not so good. We were very disappointed in the food but thought the server did a great job.
