I haven't been on any wine tours prior to this one, so I have no way to compare but the Wine Line has definitely set my standards very high! I had a great experience. Not only did we go to some great wineries, but we had a delicious lunch and an awesome driver! Jason, who's owns the Wine Line, was really fun and made our trip a very enjoyable one. Maybe it's because he said we were his favorite group, and who doesn't like being called their favorite. But I'm sure he says that to all his groups... ;) We were promptly picked up at our hotel at 10:30 and dropped back off at 4. It was an amazing day in wine country. My favorite winery was Kenneth Volk. They had an amazing selection to choose from and very informative and friendly sommeliers. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour. Not only do you have a driver aka, your own personal DD, to take you all around, but you get to visit 4 different wineries and drink some amazing wines. We were provided with snacks and refreshments as well, not too shabby. Comfortable van with AC made our ride very much enjoyable. Got some groupons for this company with 3 of my girlfriends. Easy to book and very friendly on the phone. We got to our hotel and waited for the bus but it was already 15 minutes past arrival time so when we called the person just said he will be there soon in a bus you can't miss it. So we waited andnit turns out the bus we couldn't miss was a white van with no markings and tinted windows. The driver Greg was very nice and explained that the normal bus was already I. Use so he took this one. Checked our groupons and ids and off we went. We were sharing the van with two other ladies and instead of dropping us off all at the same time he would drop one party off then take the other somewhere else and go pick the other party up and kept doing that for 4 wineries. I didn't like that. Sometimes we felt stranded. The wineries that we were taken to weren't the best. It must have been the time of the year. But the only wines that were shown to us were chardonnays and syrahs. I wanted to get my hands on some good dessert wines but no such luck. We got our lunch after the second tasting and that was the best oart. Compared to other wine tastings I've gone to this was just ok. read more

A friend and I flew to Santa Barbara for a long weekend and made a reservation for a Sunday tour with The Wine Line. We were told to expect a call the next morning telling us when to meet the pick-up driver. When that call came, however, it was the owner telling us that there had been a mix-up and no drivers were available. He said he wouldn't charge us and then threw out a bunch of phone numbers for me to call to see if another company had room for us. We were leaving the next day and so it was important to us to do a tour that day, but in my experience, a respectable company would have made arrangements for us to join another tour rather than have us out-of-staters trying to do it ourselves. A. It's professionality, and B. He knows people in the business. Thankfully, we were able to be accommodated last minute (like 15 minutes later) on a Cloud Climbers jeep and we loved it. Next time there's a snafu, try fixing it first. Particularly when your customers have to abide by a 72-hour cancellation policy. read more

We have a girls weekend every year and decided to visit the Santa Inez Valley wineries this year. This area is not as popular as Paso Robles but Jason was very helpful in helping us out. We chose the private tour so we could choose the wineries aided with advice from Jason. Communication with Jason was professional and easy. He called that morning and picked us up from our hotel right on time. The all inclusive was well worth it and Jason chose Zaca Mesa for our lunch stop as they have a nice picnic area. We visited a few of Jason's suggestions the next day on our own. The area was beautiful and not busy at all. We visited 5 wineries and had a great time. We may try the eastern Paso Robles next year. Celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary by taking a tour. We used this place a couple of years ago. There were two other couples and Dennis was the driver. He was friendly, courteous and we were never rushed. Made four stops and went all the way till 5pm. Maybe it was our lucky day but had some VIP treatment at two of the wineries. Definitely a relaxing day with friendly people and much more enjoyable that taking a tour with 20 people. Great service, delicious lunch and awesome wine. A must repeat....AWESOME! read more

Great tour of the local wineries! A couple of things that really stand out about The Wine Line... 1) BRENDA is a wonderful guide! She is funny and personable... we felt like we had known her forever. 2) This is the ONLY tour, as far as I know, that picks you up FROM WHERE YOU ARE STAYING and delivers you right back there after the tour... My fiancee and I were looking for a winery for our wedding venue in th area so we took this tour to see a few places. We specified that we wanted to see specific wineries, and our driver/tour guide totally accomdated us. A personal touch was that he went inside and introduced us to the tasting room hosts and let them know we were interested in their event packages. He was also friendly, professional and well-versed on the region and its vineyards. The vehicle was comfortable and updated and we went to more wineries than we have on traditional tours in the area. He didn't have to give us a guided tour but he volunteered and we learned a lot! We'll use this in both Paso and Santa Barbara from now on. We decided that we didn't want to take a traditional wine tour because we wanted to be able to pick and chose what we wanted to do and how long we wanted to stay at certain places. So, after doing some research we picked the Wine Line as our chosen wine tour because it allowed us to chose our own wine tasting adventure. Our driver, Brenda, picked us up right when she said she would and we were off! the other 7 people on the shuttle had paid for the all inclusive-tour so they were deciding which of the four wineries they wanted to go to during the day, but Brenda made sure to ask us what we wanted to do. We were flexible, but definitely wanted to go to Firestone Vineyard for a 1:15 pm tour. She recommended another vineyard to go to before then, dropped us off and took the rest of the van to their chosen first vineyard. After about 40 minutes she came back and got us and dropped us off at Firestone right in time for a tasting and the tour. (The tour was very interesting, btw). While the rest of the group was eating lunch, she picked the two of us up and dropped us off in Los Olivos and asked when we wanted to be picked up. Los Olivos was great! We loved being able to just wander around and pick where we wanted to taste. It was a perfect situation for the two of us. This was a great tour for us because it wasn't the traditional type of tour where the wineries are chosen for you and there's a stricter schedule to keep. We liked not having to worry about driving afterwards and being able to relax and enjoy our day. The rest of the group who had chosen the all inclusive package seemed to have had a great time as well. BEWARE THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! We made reservations for my mom's 50th birthday 2 months in advanced with the Wine Line. Weeks leading up I was unable to reach anyone on the phone to answer questions we had. Day of our reservations our driver never showed up! Our calls also went ignored. Very terrible customer service and very disappointed as this company ruined my moms surprise weekend get away. Please be aware and use other local wine tours in the area. Thankfully our hotel, the Fess Parker was kind enough to recommend a local spot near by to go wine tasting. The hotel is also aware of this horrible experience, feel free to ask the concierge at the Fess Parker for other reputable wine tours. I hope this review will help at least one person to not go through what we went through. read more

I wish I could give them negative stars! I booked them for my sisters 40th birthday 4 months in advance and received a confirmation email stating they would call the morning of between 9:30 and 10 to give a pick up time. Well the morning of our scheduled tour there was no call then when I tried to call the office it stated they were closed on Sunday's and the voicemail was full. I cannot tell you how disappointing this was. Thankfully there is a new Uber wine service that was available and ended up being cheaper than this "Hop on the Wine Line" tour. We had a great time, no thanks to the Wine Line. I still have not received an explanation. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM and expect them to show up. read more

What a great model allowing passengers to select the wineries they'd like to visit for the day (instead of having a set list of stops which you may or may not be interested in). Mike was absolutely terrific -- very personable, gave us great suggestions which were all spot-on, and created a very relaxed trip for us. We never felt rushed and were never left waiting. We had a great experience. We went for our anniversary and my sister and her girlfriend came along. We were able to go to a total of 6 wineries! It was so great to have the recommendations of our driver and not have to worry about driving at all. He was well informed about the area and wineries and made some suggestions on furthering our enjoyment of the area. The lunch from Panino's was really good! Back in April my WIFE and I decided to do a mid week getaway and found this little gem of a wine tour!!! So First off the owner called us to confirm we were still on for the wine tasting, the only reason for that was that night when we got to Solvang there was a missile threat and half the town was evacuated or at least it seemed like half the town but lucky our hotel was NOT! After we were confirmed we were still on he had the driver picked us up and on time she even had some snack for us. She was GREAT she took us to all the wineries we wanted to go to and even recommended some wineries to stop at that we did not know about SO glad she did. . What a great way to enjoy a nice day of wine tasting with NO worrying about who's having a tasting and who is driving. We had the lunch package which turned out to be some very TASTY sandwiches. HORRIBLE! Let me start out by saying that I have never dealt with anyone so unprofessional before. My girlfriend and I had booked our wine tour with the Wine Line about 3 weeks before our trip. We had gotten our email confirmation after booking and were set to be picked up outside of our hotel between 10:30 and 11:30am on the morning of our tour. We received a call from Jason at around 10:15am informing us that his van was having mechanical issues and that he was going to have to send another car to pick us up and that a guy named "Tony" would be calling us. We understood that cars have issues and were fine with the change however, Jason did not inform us that a non-affiliated Taxi van would be picking us for the "tour". The taxi finally arrived around 11:45am and was kind enough to inform us that the charge would be $50/ hour for the tour. So without notice, our tour went from a $110 flat fee (in a wine bus) to a $50/hr (plus tip) taxi van "tour". To top it off, I was able to get a hold of Jason that afternoon to discuss the issue and he assured me that he would honor the reservation and would take care of the extra fees for the taxi he had sent. Moreover, Jason was even so bold as to apologize and take full responsibility for the issue and inconvenience, and agreed to call the taxi driver to settle the difference in charges but then never actually called or would even pick up his phone when we tried calling him after-the-fact. We ended up having to pay almost double what we signed up for and got about half the time we originally reserved. I'm glad some people have had a good experience with him but he almost ruined my vacation and should not be trusted by anyone. read more

HOP ON THE WINE LINE...IF IT SHOWS UP: BUYER BEWARE I was part of a large party who signed up for the wine line in Santa Barbara. The reservation was confirmed months in advance and we were told that one week before the event we would receive an email with an itinerary. One week out, we had not been contacted by the company and so we reached out. We left several messages over the course of 3 days and no one returned our messages. Finally, we made contact and were reassured that our reservation was confirmed. The person on the phone even told us our driver would be Brenda and that she would call around 9:30 AM to schedule pick-up time between 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM. We are still waiting for our driver to call. We called the morning of our reservation (10:00 AM - after the driver was suppose to call) to let the office know that we had not heard from the driver and they claimed they were going to have the driver call us . No one called and the office stopped answering my phone calls. Then, in an act of desperation, we had the concierge at our hotel call and guess who answered? Don't worry, they lied to the concierge too so we didn't take it personal. I understand that there are unforeseen circumstances but to flat out lie and then ignore us is unacceptable. Had they told us at 10:00 AM that no one was coming we could have an opportunity to schedule another company and salvage our trip. PLEASE THINK TWICE. CALL THE CONCIERGE AT YOUR HOTEL AND ASK FOR RECOMMENDATIONS. read more

Visiting from out of town with a friend. As most folks these days, we're on a budget. We were so grateful when we received a 2 for 1 coupon for The Wine Line. Unfortunately, the owner refused to honor it. He said the coupon didn't include the tour we wanted to go on, although there is nothing on the coupon that indicated that. When my friend mentioned the coupon does not state any exclusions, the owner casually stated, "yeah we'll have to change that." Just for the record we wanted a lesser expensive tour, so we clearly were not trying to take advantage of anything or anyone. When my friend mentioned posting to yelp about the coupon, the owner called him rude. It was a pretty lousy customer service experience. read more

This was so disappointing especially since I was visiting from Pittsburgh and only had one day for the wine tours. We waited until 11:45 and realized that they weren't just running late and too busy hustling to get us to return messages but they had no intentions on answering or coming to pick us up. We were so very thankful to all the other wine tour companies in the Santa Barbara area that actually answered their phone and made phone calls on our behalf as well as recommendations for other wine tour companies that could possibly accommodate us- especially DeeTours and EOS Santa Barbara wine tours and transportation. Dee personally made phone calls to other wine tour companies that she thought may help us and Adam at EOS came through for us by actually calling in an extra driver to work and creating a custom tour for us at a great price! The Wine Line should take some tips on professionalism from these wonderful companies that cared about customers and making their day. read more
