A wonderful local business owned by awesome couple who genuinely cares about their customers AND produces some great wine. We hosted a 2 night seminar here with around 15 people each night and cannot say enough great things about The Wine Barrel! The owners are stellar to work with and as accommodating as any business could be to both us and our guests. The venue is smaller, but perfect for small groups or to come and have a glass of wine or a small event. Not accounting for the outside seating 20 or so people fill up the space, but it is perfectly intimate for parties of that size or smaller. They offer a variety of wines all made by the proprietors which everyone who attended our event agreed are fantastic. They also offer some light charcuterie if you would like as well. They offer memberships which are a great value too! read more

Cute little micro-winery. This place was busy on a Saturday. All seats and tables were full. Friendly service with a wide selection of wine. Many of their wines have won awards and is noted on the menu. They even let you taste your selection before you commit to a glass of wine. read more

The best winery around! We came in because we were impressed with wines from the Castle Rick wine fest and WOW!!! Seriously, the wines got better as we made our way down the list. This is a cute little shop. They have small plates but will et you bring in your own food too. They have a popcorn machine and graciously made some for the kiddos. This is a family friendly place. It was a beautiful day, so the kids played in the front patio and the owner brought our sidewalk chalk for them. My favorite wine was the double diamond Malbec. WOWZAS and the Montepulciano. Voted of these made me actually stop and pause, they're just so good!! We did quite a few tastings and enjoyed almost every single wine! We've decided that we're going to be regulars. What to expect: friendly, personable, somewhat cozy, comfortable, and accessible establishment. The owners engage with you personally and they also make their own wine. I ordered an appetizer because I was starving and didn't want to drink on an empty stomach. I ordered the very reasonably priced $8 baked brie. At restaurants, it seems like appetizers tend to skimp on portions, but not here. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a plateful of crackers and a sizable portion of brie. Granted, the crackers weren't fancy, but they did the job and I was happy. The wine: I shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc with my friend, which we were told was a New Zealand origin, and it was excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

This is a special kind of place. My wife & I have been to quite a few wineries and breweries and have never had one that was so welcoming, friendly and laid back like this is. Wines are great and there have been no headaches afterwards. Owners are pretty chill and the customers are nice. VIP club is definitely worth it. It's nice to have a fun, safe place to go hang out. read more

I can genuinely say that this is the best wine my wife and I have ever encountered. The most striking thing for us is the fact that the wines they make do NOT give my wife a headache. This is because of the filtration process they use to remove sulfites. They don't add all those preservatives and other junk into their wine. It's just the real deal, nothing else. they literally took us into the back and showed us exactly how they make all their wine. It was so casual that it felt like talking to a friend the whole time. We got into it for that reason, we stayed because the owners are awesome, they experiment with super fun wine flavors we've never seen anywhere else, and the whole experience of going to their winery is just fun and friendly. We love it. Seriously fantastic. Never thought I'd find myself signing up for a wine club, but here we are as members a year later haha no regrets at all. Highly recommend. read more

Bought a couple bottles from here for a date night in with the hubby. I'm usually into a red, full body and fruity. Not easy to find but this place had it! Fortified was the best. We also tried a sweet and a dry white. Honestly they were all very good. No complaints. Just wish they would've had a meat and cheese platter or snacks to buy with so I didn't have to go to several stores for what I needed for the evening. Looking forward to actually going in and doing some winetasting that it looks very inviting and the staff was overwhelming very nice. It's been about 6 months since we first checked out The Wine Barrel -- and we've been frequent visitors ever since! The wine is still great, the atmosphere is still welcoming, Cordy, Bob and Kristie are still super friendly and Eddie is still hella funny. :) In the time since our first visit, we have joined their VIP program which gives us discounts on wines by the glass, wines by the bottle, special release bottles and invites to VIP only events -- and it totally worth it. read more

This is a fantastic family friendly micro winery. Bring the kids, bring your neighbors, bring your friends. They are very proud of thier product and provide excellent service. They remember our names and genuinely care about what's happening. The slushy machine is back and you can get two flavors that rotate often. We are part of the VIP wine club which is a great bargain. They have a wide variety of options on the menu to please even the non-wine drinkers. You can bring in food from area restaurants, order in, or they have a great cheese and cracker plate or hummus plate with gluten free options. read more

So, I'd really like to give this place 3.5 stars but giving 4 as 3 is just too low for such a fun experience. This is a really cute little winery with some fun wines to try and lots of little wine gifts. I really enjoyed the shop and the owners more than the wine though. I am not a person who enjoys sweet wines and most of the wines I tried were unexpectedly sweet for what they were. The owners were very nice though and super entertaining which made for a great experience. Even though the wine wasn't the best I would love to go back as we all had a really nice time and it's always nice to be able to support a local business. They also had some wine slushees which sounded pretty good for summer time so that just might be the ticket once it warms up a bit;-) read more

Fantastic wines, staff and atmosphere. It's family-owned and run which definitely shows in how helpful and dedicated the staff are. I also really liked the wines. There is a large selection to choose from and chocolate to pair with it. This is the only wine bar I know of that welcomes kids and has activities to keep them busy. Parents need wine too! read more

I had ended up taking a visit here with a couple of my classmates for a college course and I am so glad to have visited this winery! When we first walked in we were greeted by a friendly staff member named Cordy, who was very knowledgeable and helpful with our experience. We ended up doing a couple tastings of wine because it was just that good. The wine is very light on the palate, but offers incredible aromas and flavors as well. My favorite was their Moscato and the Sangria. These wines had my heart right away, as they always do. During our time there we even got a little tour of the winery and it was so neat to learn how our wine is processed and aged. I was really pleased with our experience and how friendly the staff members are. The winery is a cute little shop in Parker, Colorado.. which fun fact, they name their wines based off well-known streets in the area. I thought that was so clever and unique, plus a great way to stand out in the wine market. I would absolutely recommend visiting this winery and ordering all the wine you can. Super friendly ownership/staff. My wife and I have tried wines in Napa, Sonoma, and Placer County CA, Agusta MO, Chile and South Africa. Between us, we tried over 10 wines and nearly ALL of them were delicious and very well thought out. To put it in perspective, of all of the wineries that we have been to, only a couple of them had several wines that we sincerely enjoyed. The Wine Barrel right is up there with several varieties of delicious reds, whites, and sparkling wines for just about any pallette or food. It's owned by a husband and wife team... a chef and a sommelier with a genuine interest in providing a positive wine experience. Bring your own food or have the hummus plate (also delicious) and try great wines in a relaxed environment. A Winery in a strip mall? Really? but yes.. it's true! and it's super fun. I've now met all the owners and everyone brings their own expertise to the business. It's family owned and we Parkerites love that. They created their own labels, their own ideas for wine and name the wines after iconic spots in Parker. Brilliant! You want to try the wine that is named after your area of town or favorite spot right? They also have several sparkling wines which I love! They have a couple of snacks you can eat while you sample wine but they also let you bring in your own food of have it delivered. Great inexpensive date night! My favorite pizza place doesn't deliver to my house so we have it delivered to The Wine Barrel and do a bit of taste testing. They also have give cards, wine gifts and of course you can take wine home with you. I'm attending a coloring and cocktails event there next week and that is sure to be a blast. read more

First time to try this little gem! I was lured here by the promise of wine slushies, which are absolutely delicious. Eddie, one of the owners, introduced himself and took our table & the other customers on a spontaneous tour. The Pine Street Red was delicious! This is a locally-owned gem! Go have a wine slushee & then try a bottle or do a tasting (3 for $5). The hummus plate was great as well & they have a gluten free cracker option. read more

GREAT service! Went to another winery in the area and will not be back there now that the Wine Barrel is open - they are much more my style. Younger wines but the really wide variety (including sparkling), relaxed atmosphere and the hospitality of the owners will definitely make you want to make this place your "Cheers!" for wine drinking in Parker. read more

Great spot!!!! Everyone in our group enjoyed the wine they ordered. Try the port and the Cabernet Franc. The wine slushees are really tasty too! My mom and I stopped in here after shopping at Kohls. The owner was so nice and willing to answer any questions ! We each tried three wines and we were both impressed and enjoyed each one ! Will definitely be back to purchase some bottles and bring friends ! Also they have a cheese plate which I will get next time I am in ! Definitely recommend this little micro-winery! read more

The first thing that grabs you as you're driving through the back, roads of Weld County among farms and ranches is the warmth of this location with trees, a long drive and a small pond. It truly is a picturesque setting and some families were already walking around the pond and nearby grounds taking family photos. We had a small wait for our table, which was not unexpected since had a large group. The drink options were amazing and the bartenders on duty did not disappoint with their preparations. The menu however, was great for those who were seeking carbs, but left something to be desired if you were seeking any protein options. We started with the Charcuterie and Bruschetta Barrata boards along with the Warm Spinach and Artichoke dip. A couple of flatbread pizzas wrapped up the dinner options for us. We were celebrating a birthday and brought a cake in the staff was kind enough to let us keep it in the cooler until it was time to be served. With almost every table filled outdoors and indoors, the staff did a good job of keeping up with our tables needs and balancing the other tables in their respective stations. We did have to seek out our waiter a couple of times to order additional items but they were quite busy. This place is ideal for a light, relaxing meal with drinks and the company of friends. It is not the place to go for those with a hearty appetite as you may be disappointed with the scarcity of options on the menu, but for events in a beautiful setting, you can't go wrong here!

I'd been dying to come to try their wine so this was a great way to be exposed to the winery. We hadn't known that ordering a mimosa meant buying a whole bottle of champagne but after trying their "Indulgence" my mom & I agreed we would get that everytime. They also provide a great plate of food for the ticket price that won't have you leaving hungry. The staff were also lovely. August 26th was their last day to operate at the location of 8130 S University, Unit 110; they are moving to a new location: 311 E County Line, #20; this is the old driver's license place. It's my understanding that they will resume their normal operation at the new place in mid-September.*** As an avid wine drinker, I had to fathom to understand why it had taken this long to come to this winery even though they opened their doors almost 15 years ago. I had passed this quiet shopping center numerous times in the past and although the actual store is not necessarily super visible from the street, the sign (winery) at the entry to the shopping center had caught the kitty corner of my eye every time I drove on University. Whatever the excuse I can thing of, I finally made it here as if to scratch one item off of my bucket list. I bought a deal from Groupon (two-hour wine tasting with award-winning wines for two with one take-home bottle deal) at the price of $41.60) months ago. I simply couldn't ignore such a great deal. Without further ado, let me rate my yesterday's tasting experience. Selection of wines: First off, this place carries world sourced/Colorado made wines. They, of course, have white, red and dessert ones. Grape types are Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cab Sauvignon, Tempranillos, Malbec, Carmenere, Chianti, Barolo, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Pinotage, Barbera for reds and Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Liebfraumilch, Viognier for whites (I'm pretty sure I have left off a few.) This is quite extensive. Because of this, you'll be guaranteed to find something that will resonate with your likings/palate. Quality of wines: I had no expectations before I had arrived. All I was looking for was a quality time with my friend over a glass of wine. But once I started a flight of my choices, I had a hard time picking which one was better between the first and the second one or the third one and the fourth (and so on) and what I liked the most because they all tasted amazing. I know some say that Colorado made wines are not at par with wines from other states/regions but if you still think that Colorado's wine making level is still pretty low, you should definitely check this place out. Host: Melissa (?) was simply amazing. She was hospitable and attentive to our needs. She tirelessly walked around the floor with several bottles of wines in her arms/hands and kept pouring for us and other guests. She was also excellent at making great suggestions. And whenever she mentioned her favorites and we tried them out, we ended up liking them. Like I mentioned earlier in this review, the place was in the transition of moving. Melissa asked us to pardon any/all mess that we might notice. She also said that certain things had already been boxed up for the move so the only thing she could offer for us to munch were black sesame crackers (but this place does have charcuterie board.) This was totally understandable. Website: Check it out for sure. They offer wine club membership (gold club is $50, silver club is $45 and bronze club is 35); they let you make your own wine (I wonder how this is done; I'm curious); they let you make your custom wine labels (you can commemorate a special occasion such as birthday, wedding anniversary etc.); they let you rent the winery for seminars, events etc. Regular wine tastings: $15 per person for 6 tastes or $25 per person for 1 hour tasting My friend and I left the place (after two hours of tasting) being impressed. I cannot wait until they reopen at their new location. I'm pretty sure it'll be a more superior experience as they'll have everything: the ambience, the food but most of all, the award-winning wines. ***I decided on Chilean Cab-Malbec-Carmenere as my take-home bottle after the tasting***
