Second Update: April 2026 I had trouble reprogramming the electric roller shades myself (Somfy), so I reached out to Neil. He sent me his installer, Ron, who went above and beyond to get what I needed. We figured out that the motor needed replacement, and we got a new motor free of charge. We had a great experience with Neil and team. Like others who have reviewed, we received a flyer from the Window Blind Connection (along with several other vendors) at our home. Since we were in the market to update our window shades, we did some quick research and ruled out the ones who had poor reviews (from Yelp of course). Then we contacted three vendors, including Neil, for quotes. Of the 3, one (large, national vendor) came by to do measurements, but did not provide any advice, so we felt like we were left on our own. A 2nd did a call, but really told us that, given our price range, we should do mini blinds, and really did not give us any advice on anything else. Neil came in person, did the measurements and walked us through the pros and cons of our selection. His pricing was also the best of the three quotes that we received. We told him we needed a week or two to decide. No problem - after we thought through it, we decided to go in another direction (shades + cellular instead). We called Neil and asked him if he could still use the measurements, but we wanted to go in a different direction, and could he let us know his advice on our new selections. Neil insisted that the only way to make a good decision would be to see live samples, so he made a second trip to our home, and this time we looked at our new selections in our home, and selected the colors. We also had a bunch of special requests given the thickness of our windows, and he patiently walked us through the pros and cons of each choice and provided his own advice on the best solution (without being pushy about it). We put down the 1st part of the payment, and also were told our ETA would be 4-5 weeks, and the product came in right on time.Gabriel, on Neil's team, called to schedule an appointment to do the install. Neil had told us it would probably take about 3-4 hours. Gabriel did a great install in much less time than that, and he cleaned up and vacuumed after his install. He also installed some existing shades we had (that we had not purchased from the Window Blind Connection) as promised. We think our newly installed Roman and cellular shades look and function great, and Neill also called as a follow up to make sure we were satisfied. I am writing this review just after having our brand new home fitted with customer window blinds, shades and plantation shutters (25 windows). This was no ordinary task or job! I was inundated with postcard offers from the time I closed on my home over Thanksgiving through the new year. Once I had time to sit down I did my due diligence and started reviewing (legitimate) YELP reviews and the BBB reviews on companies that had solicited for my business. Most postcards ended up in the recycle bin. I kept 5 companies, called and scheduled appointments. I knew pretty much what I wanted for all the rooms, so it was a matter of which company I liked when I met them, their selection of products, price and timeline to get installed from measurements. Neil with The Window Blind Connection was my fifth appointment. We had to reschedule due to a conflict on his end, but once we met, he provided an excellence in customer service that went WAY ABOVE the others. Once I got his written proposal, I went back to Neil and one other competitor to negotiate the overall deal. Neil was fair, reasonable and easy to work with for this job. Upon acceptance of the deal, Neil came back to our home, measured again, reviewed all the selections again and then set up the measuring appointment for the plantation shutter company. Neil gave me a timeline that I felt was very reasonable and stuck to that exact timeline with the installation of the shades and blinds and also scheduled the installation of the shutters at that time, which they kept. Everyone arrived on time, did awesome work and cleaned up prior to leaving. I was 100% satisfied from the time we met on through the completion and installation. I plan to add some additional window treatments in my home down the road as I continue to decorate and Neil will be hearing from me. So here is my advice - by all means, get competitive bids, do your due diligence and check the companies out through the BBB, use personal referrals of you have them but DEFINITELY CALL NEIL!
