However, it recently got updated, in which I worried it's loveable reputation would be ruined if it got too modernised. Luckily it didn't- it's just had a lick of paint and made to look and feel a lot cosier. The menu has totally changed to offer more food options, with more junk food offerings such as 'trash buckets'- buckets filled with pulled pork, fried chicken etc with slaw, cheese and sauces. They still have a huge menu of more home made favourites though. I opted for smoked haddock with spinach mash and a mustard sauce on a Saturday night, and it was so delicious. The mash was creamy and full of spinach, and the mustard sauce was amazing. Possibly the best meal out I have had for a long time! Love the whole feel of a traditional local pub too.
