Luckily it didn't- it's just had a lick of paint and made to look and feel a lot cosier. The menu has totally changed to offer more food options, with more junk food offerings such as 'trash buckets'- buckets filled with pulled pork, fried chicken etc with slaw, cheese and sauces. They still have a huge menu of more home made favourites though. I opted for smoked haddock with spinach mash and a mustard sauce on a Saturday night, and it was so delicious. The mash was creamy and full of spinach, and the mustard sauce was amazing. Possibly the best meal out I have had for a long time! Love the whole feel of a traditional local pub too. Our UK family (sister-in-law and brother-in-law ) organized a birthday bash for us here, and it was absolutely brilliant. Back home, we don't usually think of pubs as the go-to spot for milestone birthdays, but this one completely changed our minds. The atmosphere was warm and lively, the drinks were spot-on, and the staff made everyone feel right at home. There was even live music during the evening, which added a perfect touch to the celebration. I've posted a few pictures (I'm the white guy wearing the crown) and I think they say it all. If you're in Manchester and looking for a place with heart, character, and good energy, The Crown Inn is a great shout.
